I always build my own bowl and got brown saffron rice with quinoa and tri-tip. The tri-tip is flavorful and pairs really well with all the toppings. The almond tempura cauliflower is a must, I just recently started adding this on and it is perfectly crispy with great texture and flavor. For toppings, I like adding the red pepper hummus, avocado hummus, and tzatziki, along with sweet potatoes and chickpeas. Everything tastes fresh and well-prepared, and the combination of flavors and textures is perfect for me. Tasty, filling, flavorful. A build-your-own bowl has plenty of options you don't see in most fast casual places. The Mayd Mix (kale, radicchio, romaine) holds up better than the arugula which wilts in this hefty bowl. Loved the lentils, hummus, tzatziki, and smoked harissa spread. Roasted veggies as a protein option was a mix of red peppers and perhaps parsnips and onions- not sure but it was tasty. Avocado is worth the upchage. Sumac radishes, pickled onions, crumbled feta are all good toppings. Garlic sauce and lemon tahini sauces were both fine but mild flavors, but I'd add something spicy next time. The only thing I wouldn't order again are the fried falafel croutons- they did add nice crispy texture, but not my style. I'd pick a different option for crunch next time. Bowl size is generous and plenty for a filling meal. Lentil soup is thick and topped with feta and harissa which kick it up a notch. Naakos (naan + taco) are a fun idea but the ingredients I chose maybe weren't the best. I barely noticed any smokiness in the baba. Between the roasted market veggies, white bean salad, and greek vinaigrette, the whole thing was just a bit wet and messy to eat. But maybe with a different combination of ingredients. This restaurant is similar to Chipotle in that you load up your bowl with ingredients you want to eat. The number of ingredients to choose from can be overwhelming. I ended up going with whatever the server recommended, which meant I loaded up my bowl with a lot of different ingredients. Every ingredient individually was tasty, which is why I'm rating it so high. However, I think by loading up the bowl with so many ingredients and it mixes together (unintentionally because everything is layered or placed next to other ingredients), the result didn't taste great. I think if I were to come back, I'd probably order just a few ingredients that complement each other rather than load the bowl up. I can't fault the restaurant because I agreed to load it up. read more

Mayd is my favorite when I want good food, but don't have time for a sit down restaurant. I typically order the naakos with tri-tip because you cannot go wrong with Mediterranean tacos, but last time I decided to venture away from my norm and get a bowl with tri-tip (I don't venture far - ha!). I shared it with my daughter and it was the perfect amount! Their homemade hummus, tzatziki and garlic sauce are a must, the flavors are bold and just mesh so well with the rice, meat and whatever veggies you decide on. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is clean. However, I will say I noticed some buildup on the soda fountain machine where the ice comes out that kind of gave me the ick, but other than that, I always have a good experience. I absolutely love Mayd! It's one of those hidden gems that I can't believe isn't all over the nation. Every time I come here, the bowls are consistently fresh, flavorful, and delicious. They've never disappointed me. The quality of their ingredients really stands out. Their greens and grains bowls are a perfect balance, with flavorful basmati rice, vibrant greens (I love the arugula and their house "Mayd mix"), and numerous variety of toppings to mix and match. The lemon chicken is my usual go-to but the red meat options are absolutely worth the upgrade. The lamb meatballs and tri-tip are both incredible! I also appreciate how efficient and friendly the staff are. Even if they run out of a protein, they get a fresh batch ready quickly and keep you moving by letting you build your bowl in the meantime. Service is usually fast, and I rarely have to wait long whether I dine in or order to-go. Inside, the space is clean, modern, and inviting. It feels more like a polished chain restaurant in the best way, not at all like a one-off spot. I eat at Mayd often (at least 4x a month) and have recommended it to many people(even my in laws this same day), which made my experience last night around 6:00pm especially disappointing. There appeared to be training happening, but the employee leading it was cold, stressed, and unpleasant to interact with. No friendliness, just rigidity and attitude. I ordered a standard bowl and asked for a small amount of arugula on top of lettuce -- something I've never been charged extra for. When I added white rice and lentils, I was told lentils were suddenly an upcharge, which has never been enforced in my prior visits. I was then passed to a trainee who gave the smallest portions I've ever received here -- so small I had to ask for more of nearly everything. I was also limited to only five toppings, another rule I've never encountered. While avocado being extra is fine, I was also charged for sauce on the side, which seems to be enforced inconsistently. At checkout, I ended up with an $18 bowl that was noticeably smaller than usual, including a $2.50 "extra" base charge despite no extra food. Between the unfriendly service, chaotic training, inconsistent rules, and skimpy portions, this experience made me seriously question returning. Management needs to reevaluate what's going on during that shift. This was bad service and bad business read more

I made my own bowl and even though I didn't know what to choose, I ended up loving my bowl. There are a lot of options and you get to choose a decent amount of things! They do have sandwhich offerings but what brings people in here are their specialty bowls. For my visit, I had a combo chicken/tri-tip shawarma salad bowl with following add ons: cucumbers, olives, cauliflower with vinaigrette then topped off with croutons. I played it safe because I didn't want to add anything that was unfamiliar that would potentially ruin my meal. Although pricey, it was a good, hearty meal. 4 of 5 stars. Service: One of my peeves at any restaurant is if I get the feeling that I'm being rushed to order or that they are short in the explanation when inquiring about certain food items. My bowl was passed on between 3 workers; one of them looked like they didn't want to be there, and if I could read minds, the other was probably thinking "Hurry up dude!" and last, which was the cashier, was the only pleasant one. Wow I don't know why it took so long to try Mayd. The same owners as butterfish and heirloom so you would figure it's good. I went the non conventional route and opted for the tri tip Sami as opposed to the bowls. The tri tip is thinly sliced and so flavorful- not dry at all. The bread wasn't too thick and overpowering. Good sauce. I really enjoyed it! The ingredients for the bowls look fresh and tasty so I will def try the bowls next. Nice workers and clean, modern interior with relaxing music. Our book club met here last week after work. This spot is about half mile from my office but I'd never made my way over. Well, this will not be the last time! I walked in to a bright and airy and clean interior. It's kind of a chipotle set up where you can tell them what you want in your bowl or wrap. They also have a good number of pre-designed bowls and nakkos (tacos made out of naan bread). I opted for a few hot items which I ordered at the start of the line and then proceeded over to the cash register to pay. I then took my seat and they brought my food out to me when ready. There were at least four workers on a week night and they were all friendly and upbeat. I thoroughly enjoyed every dish I ordered: honey tempura cauliflower (so crispy and good!), garlic naan with generous serving of yummy toppings and the fried artichokes with a garlic sauce. I loved that they were citrusy. I often don't feel like eating meat and this is the perfect spot for those times!! Oh I have to add that I usually just drink water but I couldn't resist the iced seasonal chai latte drink and wasn't disappointed; it was so good! There was plenty of seating. I am obsessed with the food here! It's quickly risen to the top of my Favorite Restaurants list. I keep wanting to try more things but the LOADED SHAWARMA FRIES won't let me. Such an amazing flavor experience! You can build-your-own, but I would recommend trying a dish off their menu if it's your first time. Fun Fact: I recently visited Seattle (known for great restaurants) and ate at Yelp's highest rated Mediterranean place in the city. My whole family agreed that it sucked compared to Mayd!!
