Decided to check out this korean fried chicken place over the long weekend downtown since my siblings and i were strolling along robson. The menu had a pretty good selection, prices seemed pretty standard. First time having chicken wings at korean fried chicken joint and it wasn't too bad. The flavour was a heavy punch. Flavours are limited in terms of options though. But i think i prefer boneless or like bigger pieces. The corn cheese was semi disappointing because it wasn't like melted and baked on it. The cheese came off in a whole layer when you would grab some corn .. i prefer it to be blended in as that's what im used to everywhere else. Corn was pretty fresh tasting though. The kalbi grilled beef short ribs was tasty, pretty standard but a bit pricy to my liking. Fries weren't anything wowing but definitely something to snack on if you were to drink alcohol. The rabbokki was probably my favorite thing i ate there. Didn't get asked the spice level though ... but even if you go to Korea they don't ask you. So it's perfect if you want to train to build your spice tolerance for travelling haha. This place is goood to go socialize with a group of friends and if you want some drinks and to watch kpop music videos. Personally i think i've been to some better places so wasn't like a wow factor. Service was good despite how packed it got later on too. Parking can be a bit of a pain. They accept all payments. Warning girls washroom is really squished and small.

We got turned down by a couple of restaurants because they were closing soon and didn't want to take anymore customers. We were walking and found Zabu Chicken. We were so happy that they were still serving. We ordered the large soy combo fried chicken and some other dishes. We were so hungry and devoured everything. Idk if it's because we were super hungry but the chicken was so good and flavorful. The lady serving us was also nice and helpful.

Zabu is a great spot with night time drinking vibes for friendly catch ups and hang outs. I came with 4 other friends and we immediately sat down and ordered. Service was prompt and all the waiters were very kind. The food is overall good but it didn't blow my mind either, especially since there's so much yummy Korean food in Vancouver. The fried chicken is flavourful and juicy - we actually ordered both regular and spicy and the spicy had quite a kick! I enjoyed the tofu soup the most as it wasn't overly salty and had lots of tofu and seafood inside. My favourite thing of all is definitely the pickled radish which ties the meal together and I love that Zabu gave us generous portions of that. For 5 people, it was around $25 per person incl. a bottle of Soju which was pretty standard. Overall, I recommend Zabu if you're in the area and are looking for a good chicken and beer spot! But be sure to call ahead or be ready to wait when it's peak hours!

Soy wings and drumsticks, yum!

Heard great things about this place and came here to eat. We ordered half soy wings and drumsticks and a tofu soup on the side. Apples that were provided were marinated cucumbers, cabbage salad, pickled radish, bean thing and kimchi. Soy wings and drumsticks These were soo yummy. They were saucy yet still crunchy and it was delicious!! I did prefer the wings over the drumsticks as I found it to be more flavorful so maybe just wings next time Tofu soup, yummy! Choice of beef or seafood. We chose beef and it came with one bowl of rice. The apples were good, but I did find the pickled radish to be super sour. Overall super good experience and will definitely be back!!

Oooooomph!!!! Summer is here guys and after a long day at the beach ya wanna indulge in some KFC. Korean Fried Chicken. NoM. Zabu zabu is one of my favourites to go get fried chicken. Its good value for money when you are sharing, their Korean food menu is legit too. We ordered the whole chicken soy original and there was about 14 pieces of chicken not bad considering you're getting the whole chicken all fried up in its soy goodness. It came out fresh and wow was the chicken juicy! There was 4 of us so we shared the whole chicken between us and away all got a main meal from the Korean food menu to have separately. Fried chicken as an appy and for my main I got the soft tofu beef soup.... mmm are you drooling yet? I can re live this one again. The soup was super hot and made fresh, probably a bit too hot as I burnt my tongue but when it eventually cooled down it was delicious! Stop by for a snack have some fried chicken and drinks or stop by for a meal and have fried chicken and a main... yum!

2 words to describe Zabu's fried chicken is CRISPY & FLAVORFUL. It was the best thing I tasted in Vancouver. The atmosphere was vibey--dimly lit with music playing. I don't know how they get their chicken so crispy on the outside and yet so moist on the inside. We also ordered the seafood pancake, which was horrible. It was soggy and flavorless. Overall, I would come back to Vancouver just to get their chicken wings (my mouth is watering as I'm typing this review)!! The only con was the wait time for the food to come out. It took forever for the wings to come and even longer for the seafood pancake to come out. I think the seafood pancake took 30+ minutes to get to our table. Otherwise, great restaurant!!

KFC (Korean Fried Chicken).. I go w/ regular 'sticks' n this pic doesn't even do justice 2 our friends.. u got 2 experience heaven there

10 stars out of 5.. hell! 1000 stars as this place got the best fried chicken in the whole wide world! (so far haha evil laugh ensue).. story: my wife n I passed by here so many times, during our 1st few times we went 2 Vancouver 2gether.. until 1 nite, there were some horse playing fighting going on b/t some youngsters who were fighting their little lives away in front of this place that my wife was like.. let's go here next time we come n end of story ..so we have been coming here ever since here r some facts b4 I lead u in2 our review: (1) Korean Fried Chicken or KFC is a new thing going on in America; (2) Hooters n Wingstop or any other fried chicken including my other favorites like WinCo Foods employee owned don't even come close; (3) Their drumsticks r perfectly uniformed w/ consistency.. I think I posted a pic on here, but since it been so long, it's not going 2 connect w/ this review; (4) U know u found a gem, when u go in a restaurant n it is for example: a Chinese restaurant n all Chinese r eating there.. this 1 had mainly Koreans; (5) Theirs hit it in all lvls: flavor, texture, moistness, all notes n any other wing or fried chicken don't even come close 2 which leads us 2 the actual review.. Best Fried Chicken in the whole wide world!

The order For The Win! FTW Jinro Chamisul Classic 360ml Yogurt Soju $15.95. Deadly because at 88 alcohol, it tastes like liquid fun and mild Starburst candy. FTW Zabu Original Chicken Combo! The Soy flavour is their staple which is tasty and subtle. We devoured our #4 Soya chicken combo, which was 5 drumsticks & 8 chicken wings at $19.95. It's a tasty order if you're looking to snack while having a fun drink with friends. I prefer the slightly stronger flavours of the other chicken on their menu, but the Soya Chicken is great as a first order. Great environment to drink with friends and snack on tasty appetizers in an often packed environment! I've always had a fun night there, but its never been cheap. Damn that Yogurt Soju!

Zabu Chicken is a Korean fried chicken restaurant located at Robson Street downtown Vancouver. It has famous at Korean style fried chicken and family-style Korean fare. Before the new year, my friends invited my fiancé and me to this place to have a try. Interior Design There are many tables inside Zabu Chicken for different groups of people. People who come to this restaurant are first to come and first serve. Inside the restaurant, the restaurant space is quiet of an open and airy casual dining room. However, people can also a choice to stand outside. It's a welcoming place and the servers are very nice and friendly. We got to the restaurant early. We were very easier to get a table and begin our dinner. Food We didn't order many food. We ordered 6 pieces of chicken wings and Zabu signature series yang nyum chicken. The chicken came out of the kitchen fast and fresh. The taste of the chicken is unique. Personally, I was not really into it. Price The price of the food is a little bit expensive. 6 Pieces of Chicken wings are $8.95, 12 & 18 pieces are $14.95 and $19.95. Zabu signature series yang nyum chicken is $21.95.

A go-to place when you're craving Korean style deep-fried chicken! Their chicken is great paired with drinks (you can go for the "chi-maek", which refers to pairing beer with chicken and is very popular in Korea). Chicken is definitely the highlight of the food here but there is a selection of other Korean dishes. My favorite of their chicken options is the original soy and the yang nyum (with cinnamon but some prefer without). It tends to get pretty busy so keep that in mind especially if you're planning to come in a large group. They do take reservations though. Overall, it is a good place to come with friends for chicken and drinks!

Soy chicken wings

My friend and I tried this place a few days ago as we're looking to expand our Korean fried chicken repertoire in the city. There's nothing quite like a nice plate of fried chicken on a hot summer day! The service here was friendly, albeit a little rushed, but that's to be expected at such a popular place. We ordered a 6pc soy original wings, their yangnyeom chicken, an order of tteokbokki, and a green salad to share. The chicken: The soy chicken was our favourite. Crispy, hot, flavourful - the soy marinade flavour soaks all the way to the bone. Very tasty - we wished we had gotten a full order of this instead of the yangnyeom. The yangnyeom was also very good - their cinnamon blend makes it pretty unique. I wasn't sure if I was a fan at first, but the more we ate, the more it grew on us. It IS a bit heavier, as expected of yangnyeom chicken, so we did wish that it came with an option to get a half order or wings rather than the whole chicken. The tteokbokki: As a lover of spicy food, I enjoyed the kick this had (my friend thought it was a bit too spicy). I do wish the soup was less salty/sweet as it does make the appetizer kind of heavy. Yummy and comforting, nonetheless! The green salad: Tbh, we could've done without ordering this one. Just a standard salad, nothing really special for the price. I did like the chopped apples in it. We ended up paying ~$25 a person, which is kind of pricy, but the food was overall good. Would come back for their chicken with a handful of hungry friends. :)

I had the Kimbap, which is a Korean form of sushi similar to a sushi roll that might have pickled vegetables in it, plus whatever other ingredient you want. I had the bulgogi beef, and it was very good and quite filling. One would be a complete lunch. I also tried the Tteokbokki, which is an unusual dish that is technically rice cakes, but I would compare it to a bowl with sliced-up hot dogs, gnocchi, and melted cheese in a slightly spicy and slightly sweet broth Service was friendly.

We ordered a set with gimbap, tteokbokki, and noodles. The gimbap was generously stuffed with colorful vegetables and rice, wrapped tightly in seaweed and sliced nicely, fresh, clean flavors, and perfect for sharing. The tteokbokki had that classic sweet-and-spicy sauce, with chewy rice cakes that really hit the spot (comfort food at its best). The noodles were light but surprisingly satisfying, served warm and simply topped, a great balance alongside the richer, spicy dish. Everything came out neatly on a tray, which made it feel casual and fun, like a cozy quick meal you'd come back to often. Overall, Nomnom Seoul is a great spot for an easy, comforting bite with friends. Simple Korean favorites done well, with good portions and a relaxed vibe. I'd happily return again

This unassuming stall inside of the Robson Public Market brought my tastebuds back to Busan…read more Both the chef and cashier were super helpful and nice. They answered all my questions and offered recommendations, and were very welcoming. Nam San seems to be very popular for their Soondae (blood sausage). However, I've never really tried Soondae before and I was feeling nauseous on the day of my visit--so I opted for something more mild and less "adventurous" instead. I will definitely be back to try their Soondae next time though. Daeji Gukbap 10/10 This boiled bowl of stew was exactly what my upset tummy needed. The creamy broth warmed me right up and soothed my stomach so well. It was the only thing I was able to keep down in two days. There was also a generous amount of tender and flavourful pork inside. This bowl of stew honestly reminded me so much of the one we tried in Busan. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes stews. There was no gaminess at all, and yet the soup was still so full of flavour. Absolutely delicious. One of the three…read moreremaining stalls in the Robson Public Market food court, Nam San specializes in pork offal and homemade Korean blood sausage (soondae), incorporated into a variety of dishes. I always order the same thing, a mixed pork offal and soondae soup. You can choose the spiciness level when you order but they also offer red pepper flakes and fish sauce on the side to add to taste. It comes in small and large, with a side of pickled radish, roasted seaweed, and white rice. Even with the small, you get a lot of meat in the hot stone bowl and it is so comforting. The offal is super tender but the star here is definitely the soondae. Pork blood and vermicelli with spices are encased in an intestine casing, making for a unique springy texture. It's even more tasty when you dip into their homemade fish sauce and the stew warms you to the bone. I love supporting small mom and pop shops, and with how tucked away this place is on the busy Robson strip, I'll definitely make an effort to frequent them time and time again. Please pay them a visit and try their unique offerings out!
