I came here with my mom and B for lunch. I had the bonesless honey garlic chicken. Their chicken was nice and crispy. By dining in during happy hour 12 and 5 pm, you get 10% off and free pop. This was a really good deal. The service was a bit slow but I had plenty of time and I didn't mind. There are three parking spots at the back. Note that this place serves Korean Fried Chicken and not BBQ chicken.

Whats not to like about this place. Its huge and there are proper dining areas. Place is clean and well maintained. Servers serve with a smile and very attentive. Came here with some friends and the place did not disappoint. Huge chunks of chicken smothered in their secret sauces so good. Crispy and juicy bites...we got both bone-in and boneless. Beer is cold and came in a tall dispenser. We also tried the tettekboki and chili chicken and oh boy did it give a god kick. We also tried the cheeseballs and they came pipping hit and gooey. There is not a single item that i did not like. Everything was so good and scrumptious. Service was quick and efficient. And did i mention the beer was cold, as can be. We were all so stuffed. Everything tasted great. No complaints. Perfect hang out spot with the boys to catch up and chill without loud annoying music. Everything was fried as you ordered, so it came hot, crispy, ready and fresh. No red light warmers here. Made and battered from scratch. Would come back for sure! Cheers! Happy eating!

Came in around 9pm mid week was quiet but loud music going on still with few Patrons. Service was fairly good with few amount of people. Got the spicy chicken dipped chicken, asked just to go light with the sauce too mush isn't always a good thing. So just came out with a bowl of sauce next to the chicken worked out though. Chicken was juicy and crunchy Also ordered assorted cheese balls by mistake. Chewy like mochi and then a filling of cheese, chocolate or sweet potato. Was nice more of a dessert appy. Not too fond of the cheese myself

A few girl friends wanted to get together for Sunday lunch and suggested BBQ chicken on Main Street. It's a fairly new location and I can't say "no" to fried chicken, especially Korean fried chicken. Got there first at 1:35pm and was seated right away for a table of 4 and was served menus and water for the table promptly. There is spacious seating and a steady stream of take outs. They play English K-pop music throughout. There were signs of Happy Hour from 12 to 5pm of 10% off all food but with no mention of dates. When my friends and I ordered, the server mentioned that every day up until 5pm everything on the menu was 10%. We decided to order secret fries, chicken wings in Jamaican sauce, cheesling chicken bone in, Honey Garlic chicken boneless, and radish. The server informed us that each chicken dish comes with a side of radish so we didn't have to order an extra side, which was nice. In addition, we also get 3 free soft drinks with our order! 10% off, free pop, and radish - things were off to a good start. Our drinks came pretty quickly and our Jamaican chicken wings and secret fries arrived first. Fries were crispy, crunchy, and fresh. The sauces were pretty decent on it and was spread pretty evenly throughout the dish. Jamaican wings were in reality just drumsticks with a nice little kick - would never think of the flavours as Jamaican but it tasted pretty good! The honey garlic boneless were all dark meat (my favourite) and was nicely tossed in sauce while still being crunchy outside and juicy inside. This was my favourite! The cheesling bone in chicken came as 8 pieces. I enjoyed the cheese flavour powder - it was a little sweet and cheesy all at the same time. There were white meat in here that turned out to be a little dry but the cheese flavours and the crunch was satisfying. We each got our own radish dish and didn't have to share - so nice! With the 10% discount the total bill came out to be $63 including tax but not tip. We had leftovers and would say the flavours, quality, and quantity are there with reasonable prices. Definitely worth checking out and I would go again, especially to dine in with all the nice promos they have.

Name is misleading, but true at the same time. No, they don't serve any barbeque chicken here. Not at all. The closest would be grilled chicken, but nothing barbeque. But, they do have great quality chicken.... some may say it's the best of the best quality chicken. Chicken can be ordered bone-in or boneless, fried or grilled, with your choice of flavors and intensities. The flavors we usually go with include their cheesy powder and Jamaican grilled flavors. The are several intensities of "hot" indicated by pepper symbols on the menu. Items with 1 pepper or 2 peppers are fine, but going to the 3 pepper level of hotness should be done so with caution as it can be painful for some. It's advisable to start at level 1 and work your way up in later visits. Their chicken is juicy and sized in-between KFC and Churches. Meaning, they're sized middle of the road. The batter is thick and crunchy, unless it's slathered in sauce in which case it will soften over time. I haven't taken the time to count how many pieces are in a $20 order, so they could be charging by the pound, or by the pieces. But, regardless, a $20 order will be enough for two people, as long as you order some sides as well. In terms of sides, you've got french fries, cheese balls, corn salad, rice and a few others. You can also order noodles, rice bowls and chicken burgers. They serve alcohol and soft drinks. A lot of college students come here for the large beer bong for $20. While waiting for your order, you can watch K-pop music videos on the TV screens. It's best to come here with a group so you can order a variety of flavors to share. Expect to pay about $25 per person.

After trying this place for the first time last year, I've constantly been coming back once every couple months! Since the first time, they've changed their menu slightly and I think took out some of their "meal" items. Their chicken portions also got a bit smaller, but nonetheless still super delicious. My personal recommendation is to ALWAYS get the cheesling chicken -- we get multiple orders of these when we come in a group! The cheese is not overpowering or heavy at all, and just perfectly coats the juicy chicken. On rotation, I've also tried their honey garlic, soy garlic, gangjeong, gangnam, and galbi Q chicken (all boneless). Honey garlic and Galbi Q are also my top picks. All their chicken is fried really well - even with saucier chicken, you can still taste the crunchiness of the chicken skin. Inside is never dry. The radishes are a nice touch to also cleanse the palette between big bites of chicken! They also have a beer tower for those who like to drink, and they will help to mix in soju if you wanted :) Would recommend coming here in a larger group so you can try all their different flavours!

I can't believe it took me this long to jump on the hype! I had the biggest craving for honey mustard chicken and the hubs did not want me getting fast food. So credit goes to him for taking me here. We got 4 different flavours to try and were impressed by all of them. The chicken was super juicy and tender unlike any other we've had in the past. It was so yummy we decided to pair it with some left over rice.

This is one of the nicest bbq chicken locations in town. Seats are nicely lined up and partitioned. Staff is courteous and properly requested the vaccine card and ID upon entry. Beyond the obvious chicken, we wanted to try some appy. The assorted cheese balls was a nice item as it offers a nice crispy bite into a good amount of cheese. Cheesling fries, too, brings on a subtle cheesy taste without all the saltiness. For fried chicken, we chose soy garlic. But who could resist the classic secret sauce that tastes just like they do in Korea? I really prefer their sauce as it's not an overpowering sweetnor sour flavour. The reason is they let the marinated meat flavour stand ou instead. In all, well done!!

I love Korean fried chicken so I had to check out this restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and is dimly lit to set a classy atmosphere. I came with a group of friends and we ordered cheesy tteokbokki , cheeseballs and some fried chicken. I preferred the one with the powdered cheese and the original recipe drumsticks over the sauce options. The portions were a good size and I was very full after. Overall this is great place to get Korean fried chicken

    Secret Sauced Chicken

Been wanting to come to place for some time on a recommendation from a friend. Came on a Wednesday evening after work expecting to have to wait a little, but it was super quiet with only one other party seated. Servers were nice and helpful explaining our options as it was our first time there! Ordered the Secret Sauced Chicken (bone-in) and the Soy Garlic flavoured wings. (The server noted that Secret Sauced, Golden Fried, and Soy Garlic were the top choices! Also got the corn salad to make myself feel "better" lol. Wife liked the soy garlic flavour best but I thought both had their pros. Soy garlic is just a solid classic flavour and they do it well with the chicken not losing any of that crisp even on the later pieces. The secret sauced chicken was a great flavour but it may have been a bit too saucy. Not a real complaint though. Overall, success and looking forward to coming back here again!

Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. One of the coolest things about Steamworks is the history behind the brewery. The brewery was originally inspired by Gastown's famous steam clock and historically used steam power in its brewing operations. Even today, steam remains part of the brewing process, helping heat the brewing kettles and connecting the brewery to the neighborhood's industrial heritage. Of course, the beer is the star of the show. Fresh, flavorful, and brewed on-site, it's hard to beat enjoying a pint in the heart of Gastown. If it's your first visit, I highly recommend getting the 10-beer flight. It's a fun way to sample a wide range of their brews and find a few favorites without committing to a full pint. Whether you're a beer enthusiast or just looking for a great meal with excellent service, Steamworks is well worth a visit.

Our server suggested that, because it was happy hour, a pitcher would be cheaper and save us money. I specifically asked how many ounces the pitcher was and was told 32 oz, which sounded reasonable since we planned to get 15 oz beers. When the pitcher arrived, it was clearly 64 oz. The server apologized for the mistake, and I let it go, thinking we didn't have to drink it all. However, when the bill arrived, the price didn't match the quote. We were charged $25, not the $20 we were originally told when the 64-oz pitcher showed up, with the explanation that the regular price was $35 and that we had "saved" money. In the end, we were served twice the beer we wanted and paid twice what we intended, based on information that kept changing. Whether this was incompetence or intentional, it left me feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. The food and atmosphere really were great -- but the experience was overshadowed by feeling manipulated. Enjoy the food and beer, but pay close attention to what the wait staff tells you and what ends up on the bill.

Firstly when we arrived nobody greeted us for I would say about 10 minutes even though the place was quite empty when we arrived, and when we finally received a table we were seated at a table that was wobbly, and the menus we received were stained and sticky, which got me immediately on edge about hygiene and made me uncomfortable. For drinks selection - nothing special that you can't get anywhere else, and the place being quite empty the vibe was quite boring too. I just felt uncomfortable being there and there isn't anything special about this pub that you can't get better anywhere else. We finished the one drink that we got and headed elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

This corner spot is neatly tucked away with a few outdoor seating spots, but the magic in itself is inside. The mix of vintage and old glam showcases the hybrid aesthetic. Perfectly described, The Ballyhoo definitely lives up to the over-the-top decor from their food offerings and styling. I managed to find myself arriving within happy hour and was super please I was able to bring my laptop out and get some work done without it causing anyone a fuss. The server I had was super friendly and she had all the tables she was handling in good spirit. After opting for a local draft beer and some bites, I kept over hearing how delicious the mozz sticks were. Now IDK how one levels up mozzarella sticks, but these truly were some of the best I've ever had. The dipping sauce was super spicy but bearable for anyone's heat preference and the breading and cheese inside had such a burst of flavor you wanted to simply inhale them. What had me in awe though was the cheese pull game. No need to fear about them being overdone not cooked enough, these babies were cooked to perfection with the cheese literally oozing out of each bite. I saw a few plates being served around and think this spot is definitely worth exploring.
