The front desk now is incredibly rude and condescending. If you don't have the right insurance, get out, if you have a question, we don't have time for this. The last hygenist I saw was yelling at me the entire time, and telling me all about how much her life sucks. The hygenist I saw for many years who was amazing left the practice unfortunately. And when I first joined they were willing to work with me on a dental plan that works for me. Now it is aggressive treatment and pressure sells that requires X-rays every 6 months and deep cleanings. If you don't like it, I was told by the front desk to GET OUT. Ok you got your wish, good riddance.

I just took a new job and have to move out of state. I was overdue for an appointment and worked with the team to squeeze in before my move. They have a new receptionist team that is incapable of running this business. They rescheduled and kept playing musical chairs with their clients appointments trying to move them around. I just went in for my appointment finally, a few days before my move- for them to tell me they do not take BCBS anymore and would charge me $450 for the appointment. When asked why I wasn't notified of this , they claim they had Delta Dental on file for me. (Later when I called back- I told them my appointment in December with BCBS and they confirmed that is who they billed out.) For months I've received emails from them telling me I was due for an appointment and to call and schedule. NOTHING about no longer accepting BCBS. I left the office so upset and called back to speak with the supervisor, Crystal. She was just as incompetent as her team. She said "if it was that big of a deal, they would have billed out to BCBS and had me mail them the check..." when I clarified that she meant bill, she corrected and said check. She wanted me to pay my insurance for seeing them out of network, and then wanted me to pay THEM whatever portion of my appointment that insurance would cover... wow they truly care about the customer... I requested a call back from Dr. Putt and plan on telling him what a disaster his team has become. When it was him and his one front desk receptionist, they might have been short handed- but they were good and actually cared and had their sh*t more together than they do now. Now I have wasted time making appointments, going to an appointment I had to leave, talking to them, crying in my car, and writing this post- all to be moving out of state with a new job, stressed as can be, and overdue for a dental appointment (after getting completely screwed over by the practice my family and I have given business to for over a decade.) I am beyond upset, and cannot advise others more to find a different dentist- this is NOT the same practice that it used to be.

I understand she is working on joining another practice. I would keep a lookout and try to sign on to wherever she lands. I've been a patient of Dr. Kern for over 20 years. She has done routine cleanings, x-rays, light restorative work for chipped teeth and made molds and maintained nighttime mouthguards for me. Dr. Kern takes incredible pride in her work, is motivated to employ the most useful and modern technology in her work, and will explain in detail why she is making the dental recommendations she offers for your situation. Which means you always see the same people and they get to know your mouth Dr Kern is extremely thorough and discusses multiple options with you. She helps you prioritize dental issues and the office is willing to work out a plan to maximize insurance coverage. The office is up on all the latest dental technologies- for instance sealants on kids teeth to help prevent cavities My only negative is the time. The office can be slow. A cleaning typically takes 1-1/2 hours. Always add a half hour into your schedule over your scheduled appointment time. As long as you realize that you will be here a long time and plan accordingly, you will be fine.

After he retired a few years back Dr. Reina Garcia took over. Typically I would shy away from a new dentist due to poor previous experiences as a kid, but I am glad I decided to give Dr. Garcia a chance. She is just as friendly, gentle and approachable. Best of all the staff (Anne, Tracie & Evelyn) never changed and are still very friendly and receptive to questions. As of this review I have been coming here for the past 6 years for my bi-annual cleanings and check- ups. One of my dentists did a scan and found that something had eaten my bone away in two areas - very scary to look at, but didn't even notice it unless it became infected. Dr. Koo assessed the situation and explained the surgery that needed to be done which included removing my remaining top teeth in order to remove a 2 inch cyst, and regrowing bone. I'm happy to report that the surgery was painless and that when post-surgery pain set in Dr Koo was able to prescribe something that kept me comfortable and the pain was gone within a few hours.
