You don't feel like you're simply going to a restaurant for a meal -- you feel like you're being welcomed and treated like a guest in a beautiful, warm environment. The interior was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. I'd give the atmosphere around 3/5. The salad was the biggest disappointment. The dressing tasted like a combination of horseradish and very strong lemon juice, and it completely overpowered the salad. It really needs another look. 1/5. Actually 4.5 stars. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate, a hummus appetizer, and the chicken with hummus appetizer. All the food was delicious! They do put some sauce on the shawarma, which we will ask them to hold next time because the chicken is so flavorful it doesn't need the sauce. The chicken shawarma plate was generously portioned. The hummus appetizer was delicious and the pita was yummy. It was our first time here so we weren't sure exactly what to expect with the chicken with hummus appetizer - not worth the $17 price tag, given the other items. Husband and I came here for a late lunch on a Friday, it was not so busy, there was another table that came later and a few to-go orders. The ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. The food here is Lebanese (I was curious because I feel Mediterranean food is a broad term that gets used widely and I wanted to be better educated about this wide category). The staff are soooo nice and sweet, encouraging everyone to sit and relax even though most folks were only there to order takeout. I got a veggie kabob plate and garlic fries to go. The hummus was DELICIOUS and was so good with warm pita. The garlic fries also had some spices and citrus which made them even more flavorful. First, I'll name - I'd seen this place pop up on Yelp before and overlooked it, confusing the name with the similar sounding Zadna Bowl - a Chipotle-like pan-Mediterranean fast casual spot that's just okay. Their menu has a broad variety of items that extend beyond "standard" mediterranean restaurant fare. I was in the mood for something light, flavorful, and satisfying, and boy did Zadna Grill deliver. I ordered: Lentil soup - tasty, could have used a pinch extra of salt, but a squeeze of the lemon that came with the bowl was the perfect addition Rokka salad, with an add-on of grilled prawns - these prawns were possibly the tastiest shrimp I've had anywhere, perfectly seasoned with flavorful spices and cooked until succulent (and not overdone) -the hot sauce and garlic sauce offered with the shrimp were also fantastic -the rokka salad was simple and flavorful, tossed with brightly flavored sumac, red onions, and lemon, exactly what I was feeling like The woman next to me was raving about pumpkin kibbeh, which I had also considered ordering. I'll have to try it next time! The current owners opened about 9 months ago. The aroma of the tea and the lingering smell of spices in the air transported you to the streets of Morocco or somewhere in the Middle East.
