Great ambiance amazing staff friendly open kitchen.... Tells you everything!!! So fresh and after starting to order my regular Greek favs - I stopped my order because they actually had moussaka vegetarian made which nobody ever makes. It was absolutely spectacular. It came with Pita's fresh salad and oh my God it was so good. I ordered a bunch of things to go to take home with me because I live a far distance from this place. I found it on Apple Maps but why I was driving asking for the closest Greek place and wow am I glad Apple Maps brought me here. I will definitely be back. And what's really amazing is I just found out I lost a friend and I was sitting at the table a little teary-eyed and a lovely server brought over some tea for me while I was waiting for to go order. Mediterranean Kitchen & Park Gyros is actually a really cute restaurant. It's pretty spacious, very clean, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The setup is casual--you order and pay for your food first, and then they bring it out to your table, so there isn't traditional waiter service. Unfortunately, as nice as the restaurant itself was, I did not enjoy the food at all. I ordered the Combo Gyro Plate, which came with rice, salad, chicken gyro, and beef/lamb gyro. We also ordered the Falafel (5 Pcs) and an A La Carte Adana. The Adana, which is a beef and lamb kofta-style kebab, had such a strong lamb flavor that it completely overpowered the beef. It was definitely not to my liking and left a very unpleasant aftertaste. The falafel was also disappointing. It tasted as though it had possibly been made ahead of time and then put back into the fryer to heat it up again. I had specifically asked for everything to come out hot, and while it was hot, the texture and taste made it seem like it may have been fried for a second time rather than freshly prepared. I did not like the beef and lamb gyro at all. It had quite a bit of fat throughout it, and one thing about me is that I absolutely cannot stand fatty pieces of meat. At the same time, the gyro itself looked dry and tasted dry, which made it even less enjoyable. The chicken gyro was just okay. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it also wasn't good enough that I wanted to continue eating it. Interestingly, they had given me a sample of the chicken before I ordered, and the sample was actually really good. Unfortunately, once I received the full plate, it didn't taste nearly as good. The chicken was probably the only meat that had some noticeable flavor, but I still only took a bite or two. The hummus was another disappointment. To me, it was extremely bland and had very little flavor. They did bring both pita and lavash bread to the table, and those were actually to my liking. I basically took one bite of each item and couldn't continue eating. Luckily, my husband hates wasting food, so he was able to eat most of it, but overall, neither of us was impressed. I'm Middle Eastern and normally love Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food and all of the bold flavors that come with it, so I was genuinely looking forward to trying this place. At long last, my wife and I made our return to the Mediterranean Kitchen and it was a glorious return indeed! This time, I decided to order the combo gyros plate which included chicken and beef/lamb slices. The meat slices were nicely crisp and flavorful and was especially delicious mixed with the rice, house salad, and a bit of their olive oil. This time we even got some free tea at the end of the meal. Another 5/5 experience! Very happy with the vibrant flavors and not worrying about that heavy feeling after eating out. read more

It was our first time here and we got 3 dishes: Mediterranean Combo Kebab Plate $24.50 My husband ordered this one, he chose the chicken and steak. This was so filling, he was able to finish the whole plate but I know I wouldn't have lol love the balance with the salad & all the meats and carb. Appetizer Combo Plate $19.50 This was such a fun platter, perfect to share with multiplie people. They give you a side of warm pita bread to dip into all of this goodness. Each chunk of white meat chicken was mostly moist with just one of the smaller pieces a tiny bit dry, but still very much on point. Came here for a quick to-go lunch, decided to try out the beef and lamb gyro wrap with a side of the greek fries. Everything was made hot, fresh, and to order. Meat was tender and the bread was soft. You get a big portion of fries, which were nicely fried and had a good amount of garlic and herbs, although I wish there was more of the feta cheese sprinkled in. Was excited to see a Mediterranean place in Burlingame. We were in the area for work and decided to drop in by for lunch. The exterior had a traditional Greek look but when you stepped inside, it was beautiful and modern. There was a giant menu to the left right when you walk in and it resembled Oren's hummus with the clear and easy to follow choices. We decided to order the hummus and a lamb & beef gyro wrap. They brought out our food relatively quickly and off the bat was very underwhelmed by the size of the gyro wrap. The hummus was fantastic - checked all the boxes on what you would expect from a delicious hummus - great texture and flavor. The wrap aside from the underwhelming size did not deliver on the rest. Starting from the wrap itself - in my experience, gyros generally comes with a bread similar to a pita, where it's thicker and can balance out the meat and toppings - this one came with a wrap similar to tortilla/matza, very thin and dry. The meat was good but was dry. Lastly the toppings - gyros usually come with fresh red onions and a healthy amount of tomatoes. This one came with iceberg lettuce with only a few pieces of tomato. It could've benefited from a little more sauce but overall, did not enjoy the gyro. They did provide us with complimentary tea which was phenomenal - I would buy that any day of the week. They have entrees with dishes like gyros, shish kebab, and kofte. There are plenty of beverage options including: sodas, Snapple, Nesquik, sparkling water, beer, and wine. They also have desserts! ORDER: -Combo Gyros Plate (Marinated lamb & beef, chicken - $19.95) This was solid. The meat was shaved off from the vertical rotating rotisseries. It came with rice, house salad, and hummus. -Hail Caesar Salad (add Chicken Souvlaki - $11.95 + $8.95) Tasty salad, but mostly wanted the chicken. It was essentially little small grilled nuggets. The flavor was on point and I loved the fresh grilled taste. -Greek Fries (Feta cheese, garlic, parsley - $6.95) These were good, not great. Very thin fries, and only the top layer had the toppings. I do wish it had at least twice as much feta/garlic, or layered, as there wasn't much flavor to the fries otherwise. The portion size was generous. Overall this was a very enjoyable meal. I asked if I could bring a bottle and drink it under the table, low key, they were very much against it. Would have been nice to have had a glass of wine with the Mediterranean food. The restaurant has a casual but carries a neat appearance along with tasteful color schemes. Multi-TV screens show the beautiful scenery of the eastern Mediterranean. Ordering is from the counter from a fairly large menu with a plethora of options. I chose the Greek salad with lamb and beef gyros as my protein. The portion was more than fair with a generous amount of the gyro meat. Food is bring to your table. I also ordered the classic hummus, which was light and well seasoned. Our server came and checked on us multiple time. The owner checked in on us too. I appreciate that touch, I enjoy seeing owner involvement at the front of the house. We ate here last year and made this restaurant our first stop upon visiting the area again. I could not recommend this restaurant more. This place has a lot of potential but has some work to do to get there. We visited on a sunny fall day which made sitting in their well-decorated patio quite nice. I had the lamb-beef gyros. It was a full plate with hummus rice and salad included. However, worst part of our visit was the rice. It was so sticky and inedible - I could see that some dust was stuck on it due to its stickiness. There was also a tough part in the gyro which should not have been there. I really enjoy this spot. I have only ever had it delivered but it always hits. The chicken gyro is my go to, super flavorful and satisfying. It comes with a small side salad and rice which makes it feel like a complete well rounded meal. The food always arrives hot and the chicken is consistently juicy, well seasoned, and just bomb every time. Occasionally it can be a little greasier than usual but overall it is always good. This place is one of my go-to restaurants in the Downtown Burlingame area. I come here at least a couple of times a month. The food is great, though I admit I'm quite boring in that I typically order their chicken souvlaki plate. The one time that the kitchen did not prepare my ordered item in a timely fashion, I was given their appetizer combo plate on the house as an apology. I do think the restaurant excels with their chicken souvlaki plate, appetizer dips, and knafeh. The other times I have strayed from my typical order, I have noticed the protein on a plate (i.e. lamb) to be cooked a little dry though the seasoning was still great. The reason I give this place a 5* review (compared to 4*) is largely for the staff's attentiveness and kindness. On every other occasion I have been here, the staff seems to always provide baklava and Turkish tea on the house. I wanted chicken shawarma originally but it was going to be 20 mins so instead they made me a chicken souvlaki wrap. Also had the Muhammara dip as well! It was thick but good! All the fixings on the beets and green really spoke to me so I opted to go with it and come on, it's really not Mediterranean without some gyro. Upon delivery, it was impressive! The lamb and beef gyro sat tall and the salad looked super fresh! Unfortunately, the gyro meat turned out to be jerky nuggets. It was cold, hard and dry. If it came off the spit, shame for still serving it. If it sat under a heat lamp for hours, shame for still serving it. I ate half the salad with it on but ultimately picked it all off. There goes $7. Luckily, the salad itself was delicious! The green lentils, quinoa, walnuts, beets, and dried apricots were excellent! We also shared the side of falafels which looked a little well done but were surprisingly fluffy inside. BF's chicken souvlaki wasn't quite the size of other Mediterranean plates in the area but I will commend the chicken for being very tender. The hummus on the plate though.....um, I think the oil used was bad. It had a really off putting bitterness to it and reminded me of rancid oil. Service also wasn't quite present. Upon trying to get water after ordering, I was politely informed that they'll bring it over to us - great! They never came except to deliver our orders. We had to get back up and get our own. Sigh. Came here after a good work out and it has a wide variety food. I got the chicken gyro plate. Service was pretty quick because you have to order at the cashier first and then they bring the food to you. They have lots of seating and they even have heaters in the outside patio.
