I have mixed feelings about Eastside Brewing (and if 3.5 stars were possible, I'd award that score). First, they've got an excellent outdoor area -- plenty of seating, shade and sun, great vibe out there. I appreciated the selection and variety of beers available, as well as the quality: for instance, they had a great oatmeal stout on draft that was not too heavy, and a pear cider that was not too sweet; both highly drinkable and enjoyable. I recommend getting a flight and trying a few things. The food experience was a mixed bag: there's a great variety of options, from burgers, to wings, to Mediterranean rice and chicken platters. (Note: they are very strict about no substitutions for anything on the menu, but there's a lot to choose from to satisfy most tastes). Perhaps because of this great variety, it takes a long time for the food to come out. We ordered at the counter and it was over a half an hour for the food to appear. The mushroom Swiss burger was quite tasty (I do wish lettuce and tomato and other toppings were options for the burgers, though, as I always wish for a little bit of cold crispiness with it), and we opted for the dirty Fries, which had a House sauce and scallion mix on top, which were also good. The honey lemon pepper wings were very well cooked, nice and crispy; however, the sauce really just tasted like heavy melted butter with a tiny touch of sweetness-- no lemon, or pepper to be found. For brewery food and experience, it was very satisfying, and I would come back again. One other note, though: the place is 21 and up after 7 PM, and they are extremely vigilant (even aggressive?) about it. I did not have children with me, but there were a couple very well behaved groups with kids around us, and the families were told around seven, but they needed to start packing up and leaving. There's also a ton of signs about it. I appreciate an adult only space, but 7:00 seemed a little early and it brought a kind of negative feeling when groups of patrons who were being pleasant / quiet/ respectful were asked to leave. (Also, there was a family with older teens who are clearly not 21 who are not asked to leave-- if you're going to say 21 and up, it feels odd to just target folks with a baby, or a 10-year-old...). Just something to consider as you decide on if / when you visit and with whom. read more

After reading the negative reviews and thinking, the beer MUST be so amazing that it causes people to go nuts and that alone will kerp the little brewery going no matter what..... because the owner's responses to negative reviews and on site confrontation with kids and their parents is unacceptable. As a beer lover I tried 3 and was sad because they were all lacking in flavor, body, and taste. Thumbs down That being said, comments below. First, allowing families. I.E. bringing children is widely accepted at 99% of breweries around Ohio. Such as Brewdog, Combustion etc. They welcome families! Second, rudeness is NEVER acceptable by employees, especially an Owner towards customers or their kids. Never! Third, anyone with business acumen or at least a basic knowledge of customer service knows that negative feedback hurts the business and can eventually cause problems to the point of that business closing down. Fourth, rudeness eventually causes severe negative reactions. Avoid that by being cordial and kind. Owner. You need lessons in customer service or your business will suffer even more. read more

We moved to Reynoldsburg in July and are SO stoked to have a brewery within walking distance of our house. Eastside is a well-maintained brewery with lots of seating both indoor and outdoors (seasonal). They are lucky enough to also house a BBQ business called SLAB inside. SLAB slaps okay. The rib dip? The Rib Sandwich? Worth it. Anyways... The only downside i've experienced here is the beer. They have some good stuff from time to time, but all in all not a whole lot of variety or "experimental" flavors. I would love to see them expand their selection -- that would truly seal the deal for me. The staff is always nice and attentive. Pricing is affordable. They have trivia on Wednesdays. Oh and did you read the part about the rib dip?? To the people upset about the rules regarding children, I cannot speak for your experiences, but in MY experience I have seen kids visit the brewery with their parents and run amuck -- climbing trees, screaming, jumping off picnic tables. Sure they are kids, they are going to do those things, but maybe a brewery isn't the place to go then. My understanding is that as long as kids aren't literally climbing the walls or disrupting other customers the brewery is cool with it. Again, just my experience thus far. Eastside has one of our favorite outdoor brewery areas in the city. Lots of trees, different types of seating and dog friendly. We tried a porter and blonde ale, both were solid. They also have a window were you can order Slab BBQ and I cannot say enough good things about them read more

Good beer . Bad service for not a busy day. Came on a Saturday before dinner to obtain an Ale Trail stamp. Virtually ignored at the bar. Had to get up and walk three seats down to ask for another beer and once again to close out. Bartender never asked for a refill. He proceeded 'to chat with another female employee/former employee/local bartender; he only greeted patrons as they walked in. It's not hard to walk three stools down to check on other patrons. We have always enjoyed the outdoor area that gave our grandchildren a little extra room under our supervision. Last night we were approached by the owner in a very unprofessional way and accused our kids of opening a gate which my granddaughter had closed earlier. We were told to go to Prost because they don't care what kids do there. There was no one else in the yard area because according to the owner we were keeping people away. We had placed a food order with Smash N Eats which was very good. We wish the best to them but will not be returning. read more

Slab has left the building to branch out on their own so food trucks have replaced them until the new burger heavy food truck moves into the now empty kitchen. The beers are always great but the wine selection has always needed some work. I get that this is a brewery however, not everyone in a group is a beer drinker. There should be more of a wine and liquor selection to appeal to those non beer drinkers who decide to skip out because of the selection. The versatility of indoor and outdoor seating g is nice from spring to autumn. Dogs are welcome in the outside area. Parks and Rec often hold events as well as Eastside hosting weekly trivia. read more

I love having little local spots like this to take friends or just relax outside on a nice day (there is plenty of seating indoors, but I usually stick to the outside picnic tables). As for beer, there's something for pretty much anyone's tastes -- wine drinkers may not be as satisfied unless they like sweet. The staff is always friendly and you don't have to wait long to get service at the bar. Parking is adequate, although you may have to park in the street if the lot is full. If you're hungry, there's a restaurant kitchen inside Eastside called Slab, and it is phenomenal. It's mainly burgers, barbecue and apps. It's a short menu, but what they do, they do well. read more

Horrible service. Mediocre beer. The owner is the most curmudgeonly people I've ever encountered. Easily the worst brewery in central Ohio.

Very good local craft beers. They are part of buckeye lake brewery. I am pleased with all that I tried. Nice staff that is happy to entertain you and your guest with tales of pappy van winkle. Tall tales I would dare to wager, but tales nonetheless. They have $3 5oz pours so you can try every beer and have a real party. I didn't do that because I'm too old to party. read more

I wish I could give it 5 stars....the food and the guys from Slab are incredibly nice and the food was really good. The beer with an ice burg was really different and good. Beautiful outdoor seating!! Now the bad, the guy doing trivia is an ass, I was there with some friends and he approached us out of nowhere with a huge chip on his shoulder. My friend had bought me 2 bottles of good bourbon and gave it to me as a gift. They were sealed bottles and we were not going to open them, but he didn't even come at us with anything but an attitude. Being an ass seems to be what he excels at and if I were the owner, he would never be allowed back....I know we won't be back. read more

Can I leave 0 stars? Showed up with my kids on a Friday afternoon after school for happy hour. The kids had a football and a soccer ball with them. We've been here before with the balls and had no issues. Before we even ordered drinks, the owner comes up and says "This is an adult playground, not a kids playground. The balls need to go back in the car." Did I say we are the only ones here? I'd understand if the place was packed, but maybe now I understand why it's empty. Visited this brewery today, it's been open for a week but I've always enjoyed the Buckeye Lake brewery and this is the sister brewery to that. They have the beer of Buckeye Lake, plus some wines from Buckeye Lake Winery, and a few others. They also have bourbon. No food on site, but they do have popcorn and food trucks Wednesday-Saturday. We grabbed food at the Tempe Taco restaurant which is nearby and ate it there. They are doing well with following Covid safety protocols with dividers at the bar and tables spread out. There is a nice patio, a big tv for watching sports, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I'll be back! read more

This place has only been open for a few days, but it was very clean, the staff kind, friendly, and attentive, and the beer was great. They are an off-shoot of Buckeye Lake Brewing, one of our favorites. As for food, they have popcorn and visiting food trucks. There was no food truck today, so we had Greek food delivered to us at the brewery. There were 4 Eastside beers on tap, and 4 Buckeye Lake beers. There were several styles there, and they were all very drinkable. We appreciated that they were open at noon on a Sunday. What a great find! read more

Really GOOD TIME at Eastside! Another hidden gem in the C-bus area. Nice, relaxing hang out with good craft beer and good comfort food. Not a large place by any means, but it can accommodate your group of friends for an evening of social engineering. Noise was quiet to moderate, but not at all hard to hear conversation across the table. The Craft Beer is definitely worth a try, and there was a GOOD (not great) variety of hops to choose to suit your particular taste. I thought the brown ale was especially tasty (it is actually called "Nut Brown"... check it out on Untappd). Smooth, light, and easy to drink. Paired well with our food. Speaking of food... Eastside now has Slab food truck inside. Great selection of wings, burgers and ribs. I had the buffalo wings, and they were SOLID. Really paired well with the Nut Brown Ale. Our group had a variety of items from the Slab menu, and everyone ENJOYED the food, so no complaints on any of the grub that complements the grains! If you're looking for a nice outdoor venue during good weather, this is the place! They have a large outdoor area well shaded to enjoy time with friends and family and the weather. This gets a CHECK IT OUT for sure. They are definitely on their way to success. Quality beer with quality food makes for a delicious combination. Nice time here on a Sunday.. pretty relaxing. Light rock playing in the speakers. I would have preferred a mixture as far as music. However, It's a chill environment. A food truck left as I was arriving but I believe they have food trucks here often or can bring your own food.. order a pizza & have it delivered do your thing :). I enjoyed myself. I tried an apricot cobbler beer, a strawberry wine and a sour cider of some sort which was my favorite . The location is convenient across from the reynoldsburg YMCA. There's plenty of outdoor seating and nice lighting. Wasn't very busy the day I visited but would be nice to have a waitress that comes around if it was busier. First visit to this new brewery. Covid safeguards were in place and followed (thank you!). Friendly staff. About 8 options available. We sampled several and really enjoyed the Eastside IPA. They have rotating food trucks. The schedule is posted on their Facebook page. You can also bring your own food. The seating is a combination of outside patio (small) and inside bar, tables. Grat local brew pub. The beer there is good the atmosphere is rustic in a self serve environment. There is a play area for the kids and it is dog friendly. Both areas are outside. Horrendous new policy of no kids. We sat down with 9 people and were kicked out because one was a child. We've always loved this place bc we can walk and it was always friendly for kids to be outside in the yard. The new sign is just a computer print out on the gate. This place is lovely! Such an amazing outdoor space with shade and an assortment of tables to relax. The outdoor space is dog friendly which is the exact reason we tried them out today. I had a flight of beers which I love being able to do because I am not a big drinker snd I like to taste all the things! All of them were delcious, including the craft sodas we also got. We met some friends and hung out a couple hours to talk about website stuff and then just to catch up. We also got food from the Slab Food Truck which was outstanding! I had the Slab Burger and it was divine. My husband just had a plain chicken sammich but it was done perfectly juicy and had great flavor. The staff was super friendly and helpful to me picking my beers to try. We can't wait to go back here! read more

This is based on 3 visits. And yes, I'll be going back fairly regularly. I give their beer 4/5 stars. So I wouldn't say the beer is perfect, but it's good. And local to central Ohio, of course. But here are some reasons I really like this place: 1. Pleasant beer garden atmosphere, with its outdoor seating in a wooded (shaded) area, including tables placed a good distance from each other so you never feel like you're sharing your conversation with another group. It's not like they have a bunch of flowers, etc, like you'd get at a good German Biergarten. Instead, it's like, well, a "Reynoldsburg city park" cute and calm atmosphere. After all, it is across the street from Huber Park and the YMCA/pool). 2. Decent variety of food trucks, and the option to order from other places in the area. Smart of them to allow/encourage this. 3. The music, outdoors in particular, is not overbearing. It's at a comfortable volume, so you can actually have a conversation with your group without screaming. This is maybe my favorite factor. 4. Friendly and responsive staff. read more

This brewery is not family friendly. The owner was very rude to my husband, my 16 month daughter and I before we even entered. Hands were full carrying her and a ball and her bag and a water and was very rudely approached telling us ti put the cup back in my car (which I'm fine with but didn't see the sign till we walked up). He also very rudely stated that the beer garden area wasn't a playground for our child (I'm very well aware of how to watch my daughter at an establishment) and then told me to go put her ball back in the car as well because she isn't allowed up from the table. I'm not sure if anyone would be ok with spending money and supporting an establishment after being spoken too this way (we obviously left immediately) and told the entire party to meet us at a different brewery that was very welcoming. I understand having past issues with parents not attending to their children or causing issues but it is extremely rude and un professional to treat new patrons this way for absolutely no reason. I also spoke with the manager directly through messenger and he was once again extremely rude and unapologetic for his behavior. read more
