two glasses of beer on a table

The Daily Growler just moved to the top of my list for Columbus bars / taproom rooms. What a cool space with SO many patios (I think 4 total), including one with an amazing city view. There is plenty of seating inside as well, both downstairs and upstairs. The taproom shares a space with Kolache (delicious savory/sweet Czech pastries) which is open for breakfast/lunch, and then turns into a bar/brewery in the afternoon. You can bring food from outside (food trucks right outside by the back patio of AOH), as well as your pups. Truly my dream bar. I've tried a few new beers and ciders here. They have mostly local / Ohio beers but also some taps from California and other places in the MW. They had a nice dry cider that I've gotten a couple times. Look forward to coming quite a bit in the summer.

If I were still living in Columbus, although I'm not a beer "maven," this place would probably still be one of my favorite hangouts!! We got a quick intro to this cozy local beer "mecca" on the outskirts of German Village during our recent tour with Columbus Brew Adventures, and my/our only regret is not being able to spend a bit more time there, enjoying the small but very comfortable set up and 1,001 (only slightly exaggerated!) local brews. Great service, nice set up, awesome rotating list of beers, and a wonderful "surprise" outdoor fireplace that was just calling my name (I think it wanted me to ditch the tour and hang out for an hour... or five!!) The food looks tempting, their special event look great, and the sampling we tried was perfect!! Thanks for a great intro, DG-- We'll be back!!

I love The Daily Growler. I don't think I am anymore, but I was at one point the Yelp check-in Duke at the Upper Arlington Daily Growler. So I was excited to come check out the newest location in German Village. Compared to the UA and Powell locations though, this location seems to have quite a different vibe that I personally was not a fan of. So first and foremost, it's super duper loud. Like college campus bar loud. Not due to music or anything-- just a lot of loud people chatting very loudly. I was there with my wife, and we could not hear each other talk. Second, they only have 40-ish beers on tap compared to 60 at the other 2 locations. And parking in German Village as we all know are pretty hit-or-miss. If you live in German Village, this is an amazing addition to the neighborhood. For those of us who are closer to either the UA or Powell Daily Growler though, I would recommend those as they're quieter, have more beers on tap, and offer much easier parking. Gosh, I feel like such a geezer complaining about the noise level, but seriously, it's too loud if I can't even talk to the person sitting next to me!

I assumed that I would not care too greatly for this place being as I am on a low fodmap diet and therefore have to limit my intake of gluten BUT, I ended up LOVING it. For my gluten-free pals out there, The Daily Growler has plenty of gluten-free options. They have a bottled cocktail from my dear friends at Watershed Distillery. It is a bottled Moscow Mule that they serve in a stemless glass and it is SO tasty! They also have a host of different wines and often some cider options. They even have an adult root beer. The space is so cool. They have a patio that is deceiving because it appears to be small but wraps around the building and offers plenty of options for those who wish to enjoy their beverages outside. The inside also looks small at first until you realize there is an upstairs, complete with pinball machines! If you like beer, you've definitely come to the right place because they had about 40 different options to choose from. You could also build your own flight which I thought was pretty cool. The staff was super friendly and they had small tasting cups to allow for folks to try things out before going all in. I might also add that they have Big Mamma's Burritos available so you can eat while you drink and you will want to read my review for Mamma's because I am OBSESSED. The Daily Growler is such an awesome addition to the area and I can't wait to return over and over again. **I am now editing this because I went to write about Big Mamma's Burritos only to see that they don't have a separate Yelp page so let me tell you: those are some DELICIOUS burritos. They come in several sizes and every option you can think of. For a low fodmapper like me, it is awesome because you can elect to get it in a bowl without the burrito shell and you can build your own so you control the ingredients. It is so awesome!! Everything was freshly prepared and absolutely wonderful. The young lady running the burrito area was super friendly and she worked so hard and our food came out in a timely manner. I was so impressed by her mad skills. My boyfriend tried the chips and guac and he said the guac was super tasty as well. There was so much to choose from that I already have about 6 more trips planned to try everything I couldn't decide on.

The Daily Growler has a new German Village location. It's located on High Street. This section has free street parking if you're there the right time. It's much like the other locations. This one serves food and has a party room. I like the always changing beer choices. It had about 30 or so taps. They're capable of having about twice that but they're still new so they're getting to that. It's different than the other locations because this has a food provider inside. Unfortunately it's Big Mamma's Burritos. If you've been to Athens or the newer locations you know the cheap ass shit they slop in them. The other thing is the party room upstairs. It always seems like someone's using it. There's a big loud crowd each time. It's nice to have another location of The Daily Growler. It's a good introduction to local brewers. This is also a good place for meetings and parties.

What a SPOT! The selection, the vibes, the bartenders! You seriously cannot go wrong with a visit to the daily growler. We end up here a lot, as we'll be walking around the neighborhood and randomly decide to stop. We love that we get to try new beers every time, and we know they'll always have something we love. The entire staff is so nice and every single time we go, we have a great experience.

Amazing selection of beers on draft. Many local craft beers. Super chill atmosphere. Can bring in your own food. Eat inside, main area, upstairs or outside. Food is served in morning or on weekends--we weren't able to try it. They even have happy hour. Would come back if I lived in the area to try more beers!

I went to the Daily Growler with my girlfriend for a Beer and Girl Scout pairing tasting. The concept of beer and cookies was unique to us, so we went to try it out. There were six pairing of beer and cookies which were suitable to the different flavor profiles that would match well. The Girl Scout cookies were the Samoa, Trefoil Shortbread, Lemon Savannah, Tagalong Peanut Butter, Thin Mint, and S'mores. My favorite is the Samoa. Although I am not a big beer drinker, the beer was pretty good. Out of the six I tasted, I would say the Coconut Stout and Rusty Rail Peanut Butter were my favorites.

Visited The Daily Growler for their Beer and Girl Scout cookie tasting event. Upon arrival, we checked in, provided our names for proof of ticket purchase which was quick and easy. The bartender quickly put together our beer and Girl Scout cookie pairing and brought them to our table. The pairings that they put together were awesome and well worth the ticket cost. Not only do they put together cool tasting events, they also have a wide variety of beer on draft to choose from and are very knowledgeable about each option. Huge bonus is their outdoor patio area which I can't wait to take advantage of in the summer. Very cool location and Weill defiantly be back to get my beer fix!

Can't go wrong with the excellent beer selection!!!! Big DG fans! Bar tenders/servers are knowledgeable and the space is very cool. Could turn the music down while watching CBJ game (everyone is, lol)... great spot!

Amazing selection of local beers... a little bit of everything to try. I feel like a lot of places load their taps up with IPA's, and as someone who isn't an IPA fan, it's great to find a place where I can get a flight and not have any!

    John T.

Great friendly atmosphere. Didnt know anyone and it was easy to be welcomed into conversation. Staff was very welcoming. Offered to let me try beers before I picked the right one. This is definetly the place to go with a group of friends. They sometimes host comedy events which just adds to their extensive offerings.

Based on her suggestions, I ordered the Southern Spring Rolls and the Loaded Brussels sprouts with feta and cranberries; both were phenomenal, especially the dipping sauces she provided for the rolls. My main course, the Arch City Burger, was cooked to perfection on a nicely toasted bun, and the Caesar salad I ordered as a starter was fresh and crisp although dressing was average not my preference. To finish, both the Night Shift martini and complimentary tiramisu were delicious. While I had an overall excellent experience and plan to return soon, I did want to provide some constructive feedback regarding the beverages here. I was disappointed that bottled water was unavailable. Additionally, I found the $17+ price point for pre-batched cocktails to be quite high, as I generally prefer a freshly made drink. However, I was very pleased that Dane was able to accommodate my request for a fresh Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned instead. Thank you again for a lovely lunch and pass my compliments along to Dane for her outstanding hospitality!
