This is such a fantastic Indian restaurant (which also doubles as wine bar). They have a really unique menu featuring Indian staples as well as some more creative dishes I hadn't seen before. Their naan is some of my favourite I've had in Colorado (it doesn't get hard right away like others do) and their blue cheese & rosemary stuffed one was a really interesting variation that paired perfectly with the lamb. Spice levels are customizable for their curries. I like a little spice and their level 3 was perfect. Absolutely delicious food with the perfect amount of flavor! You must absolutely order naan with your food, and my group always opts for the garlic flavored naan. We had some kids with us, and they all enjoyed the white rice, plain naan, and mango lassi. They didn't have chicken korma on their menu, but they were kind enough to accommodate. I've been here before when it was still Azitra. They re-branded sometime after the pandemic. It's in a strip mall and parking is plenty! Delicious food and amazing cocktails. They got square footage here! Azafran is an Urdu word for saffron. My fave find here was their Rara Lamb Shank and their very unique and amazing desserts. First off I've never tried a Carrot Pudding like this! It's like what the description says. It's velvety! To make this dessert is a labor of love from what I heard. The difference in temperature between the plate and the pudding surprised us! The House made ice cream shaped like a cheese and soo creamy! Met some friends at Azafran for dinner. They've been coming here for years before it was known as Azafran. Located in the Flat Irons Shopping area, this restaurant is unassuming from the outside, but elegant inside. Definitely a more upscale restaurant feel than other Indian restaurants I've been to. A unique item we tried was the blue cheese and rosemary kulcha - which is a stuffed bread. Unusual for an Indian place... but absolutely delicious! We also ordered the gobi manchurian.... which was soft and tangy. I was a little disappointed with the portion size though. Beforeb dinner cocktails consisted of a blend of Jalapeno tequila with tamrind. Neither overly sweet nor tangy. For dinner we chose a lamb and shrimp dish, eggplant and vegetable croquettes. The secret is in the sauce! Each of these dishes had their own unique flavors with a heat level of 3 or 4... It was tasty delicious! The hostess recommended a nice Pinot Grigio that paired well with the spice. We shared a rasmali dessert, consisting of a ricotta style cake in a custard. Not what I expected, nor something I would order again as the taste was a little bland and the custard too emulsified. I went with a group of 10 last night and the service was still just as good when it's just me, my husband and daughter. I ordered a 2/5 spicy scale for my Lamb Pepper Stir Fry. I've been wanting to order from here for awhile now and today was finally the day. There are so many things on the menu I'm dying to try, but decided to order some of their top items. The food arrived hot, fresh, and carefully packaged. The GARLIC NAAN is super craveable and the CHICKEN HARIYALI LAZATDAR sauce had such depth of flavor. The chicken was tender and juicy and a good portion size with plenty of sauce which I appreciate. There's nothing worse than not having enough sauce to dip your naan or smother your rice in. If you don't like cilantro, this may not be the dish for you, but I didn't find it to be overpowering at all. The flavors were well balanced and super tasty. On October 24, 2025, Azafran Indian Cuisine in Broomfield, CO, denied service to my family because of my wife's disability and her ADA-protected service dog. After I politely explained ADA rules, staff member Risha left, returned, accused me of "throwing myself at her," and admitted not knowing the law. She called the cops, but after waiting 15 minutes with two hungry children, we left. This discriminatory treatment violated federal and Colorado ADA guidelines. I urge Azafran to train staff, including Risha, on current state and federal ADA laws. Customers with disabilities beware. read more

The artist formerly known as Azitra, Azafran is apparently the same managers that have changed the name with their new ownership. Visited on a Thursday night as a 3-top. The restaurant was quiet and just about empty around 630p. Parking right out front is a breeze. There was no host at the front desk to greet us. It was soon evident there was only about 3 people working, a water boy, a waitress, and the cook(s). By 7, a lot more people came in, and they went from 2 tables to about 8 pretty quickly, obviously too much for one waitress (who was also seemingly cleaning tables with the water boy). We were ready to order but a couple tables that were sat after us got to order before us, which also meant our food took longer to come out. Where they lacked in staffing, they did make up with the food. The chicken korma (we asked for mild) was excellent, neither too thick or too runny, with good flavor and tender white meat chicken. Fair portion as well. The chicken tikka was a little spicy (they didn't ask for spice level preference) but flavorful and tender enough (I've had my fair share of dry chicken tikka over the years). Throw in some steamy basmati rice and a couple of orders of warm and soft plain naan and it was the perfect amount for 3 hungry mouths. Went down well with a glass of pinot noir. We needed to head out to an engagement but it was tough to get the check and bounce since the waitress was overwhelmed, so we were held hostage longer than necessary. She also had a bit of an attitude, but I will chalk it up to the stress and lack of help. The prices are a little on the steep side -- the taste and quality justifies them but the service and staffing has room for improvement. I have no problem giving them another shot since I'm happy to pay for good quality chicken korma, but hopefully the new name brings an improved experience. read more

The service was good, but the food was not at par with other big city, Indian restaurants like Chicago, Houston or New York. We ordered Gobi Manchurian as an appetizer. It was covered in some tomato sauce, not Manchurian sauce. Then we ordered garlic Naan, rice, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala, and Chole. All were well spiced, but too salty. Overall, the salt level of the food was very high. I would prefer to have less salt than more salt. You can always add more. But you cannot take it off. The chicken in tikka masala was overcooked. Even though the dishes are a little pricier than I would have liked, the quality of the food is superb! I ordered delivery through Postmates, and it came packaged in a nice paper bag with a flyer postcard. I thought the rice portion (half of it pictured in my photo) was the perfect amount for the Paneer Makhni I got. It was SO good, I really had to control myself from eating all of it in one sitting. I also ordered naan, which comes with two pretty large pieces. It's as amazingly soft as you would expect naan to be. Azitra is an amazing find in such a random place; you are getting one of the higher end Indian food options, in Bloomfield versus Denver or Boulder.
