Birthday dinner for our granddaughter. So she got to pick the restaurant. The place was kind of musty and warm when we first arrived. They moved around and scooted tables together for us so that was nice. Service was excellent. They turned on the air so it cooled off quickly. Food was great. Especially the naan bread. Firstly, when I called to place my order, I asked if they offered a particular dish not being familiar with the menu. Turns out they didn't offer it on the menu, but they made it for me nonetheless. When I arrived to pick up my order i enjoyed the unique environment. There is a beautiful Taj Mahal in the center. It's a calming relaxed environment. Great choice of colors. Classy but relaxed. Lovely smells of course! I see they have a lunch buffet from 11-2pm that I'm hoping to come back for. The person who waited on me was pleasant. The food is delicious!! This is my favorite Indian food, literally, in the entire world. Portions are decent, service is excellent and the restaurant is sparkling clean at all times. While I prefer dining in whenever possible, their take-out is great also. If I had one suggestion, it would be that they provide menu items that include both meat AND vegetables. I had high hopes for this based on the Yelp reviews but was a bit disappointed. Ambiance. Thr restaurant is surprisingly well decorated, inviting and pedicures for a nice sensory experience. For Indian restaurants in thr area it was certainly welll above average. Only nitpick was that they had paper on the tables instead of tablecloth but given the price of our total meal (very inexpensive) I would say that's ok. Service. Well above average. Server was responsive, water was filled on time, food came out quickly and was hot when served. Gracious offering of free rice pudding. Check plus for sure. So why the three star review? The food. Most of it was really well below average. We got the vegetable samosas as an appetizer and they were fantastic. The crust was flaky the insides were flavorful and they were not oily at all all. Very tasty chutneys. Would get these again for sure. We got the seekh kebab. Not good. Not well seasoned and you could taste a gamey lamb taste to it. Gross. Chicken tikka masala. The curry lacked depth of flavor. They hadn't been cooked slowly and properly, so was more of a sweet tomato sauce with Indian flavors. Think of bottled chicken tikka masala that you can buy at Whole Foods and add chicken to it. The chicken itself was stringy and tough. The paratha was tasty but was more like a overcooked and buttery roti. I would get it again but it wasn't a paratha. The kneer was tasty. So overall our mains were poor and the sides and appetizers were good. Forgot to mention they had only Indian beers so we just had water. If you know about Indian beers you will have hesitation as they often contain an added ingredient that I wouldn't ingest. They should have had at least one or two non Indian choices. Btw, I am Indian. Thr price was only $55 before tip. Super cheap as we got three entrees. read more

We definitely will never return here and I would suggest going somewhere else for a lunch buffet, if that's what you are looking for. I can't speak as to the other menu options here, because obviously we did not get to try those, but judging from the cleanliness and level of service at this restaurant, I would be afraid to try anything else here. Very disappointed in their lunch buffet. There were only six or seven items with only two vegetarian options, and one of them tasted horrible. The dahl lentils tasted like they were burnt or been left sitting out too long or something. Both of us tried one bite and noticed something was off with the taste. Other than the lentils in the buffet, the only other vegetarian option in the buffet was a mushroom dish That was almost empty, and basically was kind of like a mushy mess all pushed into the corner of the pan it was sitting in, and it really didn't taste like much. If you don't eat chicken, there is really no option for you here unless you want some burnt tasting lentils or some lukewarm slimy, gooey, mushroom stuff that I have never experienced before. With only 7 items total available on the lunch buffet (burnt tasting lentils, the slimy mushroom stuff, three different chicken dishes, a dish of lettuce and tomatoes with no dressing available, and a pan with some greasy samosas and pakora), for a vegetarian, there was really no choice of anything to eat other than a tiny plate of lettuce with some tomatoes and cucumbers in it with no dressing nearby or deep fried greasy stuff (samosas or pakora). At $15, this was laughable, and definitely not a good value. The service was abysmal: There was one older gentleman there, and he never once picked up our dirty plates and never offered us a refill on water. I guess maybe he didn't pick up our dirty plates because they were still a little bit of food left on them because we couldn't eat it because it tasted so bad, but we did stack them up so it should've been apparent that they were not being used. Instead, we were left to look at them for our entire meal and we're still sitting there when we walked out of the restaurant. -Our water glasses were never refilled. -Dirty plates were left in front of us and we're still there when we got up to leave. -The bathrooms were filthy. Even the bathroom doors going into the bathroom were disgustingly filthy. How long would it take you to take some cleaner and wipe down the bathroom doors where thousands of people touch them? Disgusting. (I didn't have my phone with me or I would've taken pictures). As soon as I walked into the bathroom, I thought oh man, we really made a mistake in eating here. I should've went to the bathroom first, then we would've turned around and walked out and never eaten there. Definitely a mistake on our part to try this place. We were once again duped by overinflated Google reviews. What else is new Colorado? We definitely will never return here and I would suggest going somewhere else for a lunch buffet, if that's what you are looking for. This lunch buffet was lovely! They had 10 dishes to choose from and it comes with a free soda for $7.95. We left pleased and full. I think it is the best Indian buffet I have ever had. I have been told that you can judge most international restaurants by wether or not people of that nationality eat there. This restaurant was filled with Indian people. This place serves veg. biryani that I would avoid eating even when I am too hungry. Was in Colorado last week and after few days felt like having Indian food. Yelp rates this place at 4 1/2 stars so felt safe while ordering. Ordered samosas, veg. biryani and mango lassi. Samosas were edible but not good. Veg. biryani had some green beans, zucchini, sliced carrots and Chole (beans used in chole bhature). Never in my life I have had a biryani that has these veggies. It tasted sweet and was not able to eat more than 4 bites. Mango lassi was as usual. All in all, will avoid visiting or ordering from this place again. read more

We ordered Saag Paneer, Lamb Korma, Chicken Masala, and some garlic cheese Naan. All of it was absolutely delicious! I think the Lamb Korma was the start of the show! It was delicately seasoned, and spiced. The flavors melded together perfectly to create a flavor party on my palette. The party stepped up to RAGER status when I dipped the sinful naan's in the Korma! The lamb is sooooo tender you don't need teeth to chew it. The masala and paneer were also delicious! If you order $45 or more worth of food, you get a free bottle of Indian beer. Highly recommend Taj. You will not be disappointed. read more

This place is great & I love the ambiance! The prices are reasonable & they load you up with basmati rice! The chicken Mahkni (butter chicken) is so tasty & rich. Their chai tea is delicious! Their naan is also nice & fresh! The only issue I had is that they don't make sure to fully remove all the small bones & cartilage from the chicken. It wasn't chunks of breast meat (which is fine), but I almost chipped a tooth crunching down on a small fragment of a bone & you can't see it through all of the thick sauce. My dish had a lot of little bones & fragments, so just be aware of that when ordering the butter chicken. I don't know about the other chicken dishes. That being said, I highly recommend this place. The service is great & it's a nice quiet place to catch up with a friend over a good meal. read more

WORST takeout experience I've ever had. I ordered online 1.5 hrs before pickup, waited over 20 minutes after arriving, showed the manager the receipt, and he said he didn't have it in his system. Mistakes happen, but his solution was "ask Doordash for your money back" and kept repeating "We are Taj Mahal 3" even though the receipt clearly showed I paid and ordered at HIS restaurant! Then, I got to spend another 20 minutes with Doordash getting them to 'cancel' my order, because Taj Mahal 3 showed it was ready for pickup!!!! What a waste of my time and money. I will NEVER visit this establishment again, which is not a phrase I utter often. read more

SATURDAY Jan 23rd 2010 : 7 friends and I head down to Louisville, CO for dinner as part of (International Cuisine Enthusiasts) meetup. I arrived early as per normal. This time around, the seating arrangement was so close to the bar area at the other side of the restaurant near to the mini water fall. The service was prompt and polite. Unfortunately, one of the waitstaff seems to rush us with regards when placing or changing the appetizer plates and the main entree plates. My frens at our table ordered these, if I could recall correctly : * Vegetable Assorted Platters * Mulligtawny Maghlai Soup * Garlic Naan * Paratha * Tandoori Mixed Grill * Shrimp Saag * Bharta Makhni * Mango Kufli * Gulab Jamun This time around I opt for : * Vegetable Samosas * Lamb Boti Bhuna The Vegetable Samosas is OK and the Lamb Boti Bhuna is flavorful but its not as spicy as I want to. I also purchased, Lamb Biryani to go after the dinner for Hubs to eat at home. From what I gather the feedback from my friends, some of their food is bland, the food is either too salty, like the fish found in the Tandoori Mixed Grill and the rest is A-OK on what they ordered. Above anything else, I still like this place though the food can be slighlty better. Perhaps the next time I go to Taj Mahal 3, I will opt for the lunch buffet since that was what being highly recommended by my dear fren. Still between 3.5 till 3.75 stars for ambience, food, and service. A 4 star since they ALLOW separate checks for the whole table and this is an added bonus in my BOOKS. read more

One of the best Indian buffets I've had. The chicken tikka masala is amazing, super flavorful and tender. I've been here twice and it was available both times. The second time there was an awesome beef curry; I didn't bother to taste the chicken curry on my first visit since I grabbed tandoori chicken along with the masala. The saag paneer is top notch but is often bereft of paneer, so maybe don't come at a peak time if you want some of that homemade cheese with your saag. The heat level is pretty mild but there's a tasty hot sauce to add to your dishes. The naan is absolutely perfect and served piping hot. Three unique things I haven't seen at other buffets: No plain basmati on the buffet, just veg biryani which is fine with me. You can ask for steamed basmati if you wish. There's broccoli on the buffet served with heaps of delicious bits of fried garlic. Haven't seen this before. And you can grab a complimentary can of soda to wash down your meal, which is appreciated because unfortunately the chai is the worst chai I've experienced. Everything else was perfect but the chai was flat and flavorless. Before I forget, the samosas are extremely delicately fried and excellent. read more

we went recently while visiting the area, and we were pleasantly delighted with this buffet. They have a really nice interior that is clean and decorative, and their buffet was quite delicious. They had a nice mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, and something unexpected for me was that a drink of your choice was included in the price! That was nice. Their spicing was just right, a good blend of flavors and a bit of heat. I didn't feel like any of the food was over spiced or too perfume/spice aisle like which I don't enjoy. Instead, everything was flavorful and the samosas were buttery and very delicious - and the chutney was very good. All in all, a great food experience for indian in Louisville !!
