I was looking to do a simple tint + wax eyebrow service & found this place simply by trusting the reviews on yelp. I am glad I did. I used their online system to book and pay for the service in advance. The tip was taken via venmo. I booked for any available tech & my tech assigned was Liliya (or Lily). I arrived 15 minutes early and she was already there ready to take me. We talked about a desired color as well as any other specifics. Liliya knew what she was doing, I can tell she has experience. I trusted her with the color choice and shaping & she did an amazing job. Due to pregnancy, my eyebrows thinned out but she was able to return me my original pre-pregnancy shape. She took her time & did not rush. I would come back to see her again. However...without taking any stars off because I did enjoy my first time here. I noticed that one of the techs who was not attending to any client at the time of the arrival was not particularly friendly. I just would like to make a note to the management to pls explain to the employees to be friendly and greet a person when we come in the door. I tried to be nice by giving two stars. After the response that I received from the salon, I feel compelled to write a full review. Before I begin, here are some high quality, affordable salon options to consider: Le Studio - (5 stars, all services are excellent) LeChel Beauty - $125 full set, $95 refill (5 stars, Black-Owned) Lucia Lash/Brow - $160 full set, $70 2-week refill (4.7 stars) Dream Tips Nails and Spa - $90 full set, $65 2-week refill (4.5 stars) The $200 full set and $120 refill at BV is not worth the price difference. When I called before my first arrival the woman on the phone asked my name. When I responded with my name, the woman on the phone rudely replied "What?!" in an annoyed voice. She kind of made a ridiculous laugh and I was taken aback by this. I repeated my name and I found the woman to be rude, abrasive and unwelcoming during that conversation. She kept repeating that if I was x-minutes late there was some penalty, to which I replied, "Okay." She repeated this about 3-4 times, so it started to come off as aggressive, abrasive and awkward. When I arrived about 10 minutes later, no one was at the front desk and I still have no idea who was on that phone call. The rest of the appointment was fine and I thought the result was a standard lash installment. Fast forward, I had a 3-week refill appointment scheduled, but needed to cancel. I forfeited whatever fee was charged, which I completely understood, and made an appointment for the next week. The next week was for a four-week refill appointment. When I arrived, there was a woman at the front desk. The front door is a glass door about 2 feet away from the desk. There is a doorbell, but it seemed odd to ring it, b/c it was obvious that the woman could see me. I gave a small wave and hesitated to see if she would make a gesture to let me know that she could see me. Instead, she never looked up or acknowledged me and just buzzed the door open. I stepped into the salon and said "Hello". I received no response nor any greeting. The woman walked behind the curtain and never said anything to me. I assumed that she wanted me to follow her, so I started to follow. Once she stood next to her station, she finally looked at me and informed me that she would be doing my service. When I laid down, she looked at my lashes and said that I would have to do a full-set ($80 more), because the four-week refill required at least 40% of my lashes. I asked her how the 40% was being measured, as this evaluation seemed subjective. (I am attaching a photo of my lashes on Wed, May 18th, one day after installation by BV and another of my lashes on Wed, June 8th, one day after I was informed that I did not have at least 40% of my lashes.) I told her that I was there less than four weeks after their own installation and it seemed I had about 40% of my lashes overall. I asked to speak with leadership. However, the woman went out of sight and earshot and when she returned informed me that she made a call to her boss and that they would not honor the four-week appointment. Lash appointments need to be made ahead, so I was very irritated that that I would not be able to receive any lash service before my plans. If the salon was welcoming, I would have paid the difference to avoid the inconvenience. However, I don't believe in patronizing businesses or people that don't respect and appreciate their customers. I was just turned off and decided to leave, not to mention that I thought it would be a waste of money since other salons offer full sets for the price of a refill at BV. The response from the salon here indicating that I was complaining about the price absolutely missed the point. You can't be a premium salon with subpar customer service. The price tag should match the level of class and quality of every aspect of the experience. I simply found the service to be sort of low class and petty. The salon should offer a clear picture of what 40% of the lashes means to them or just don't offer four-week refills if you are going to do so begrudgingly. read more

This is where you want to get your eyelashes done in Philadelphia. I've been getting my eyelashes done for 5 years and always had really sensitive (watery) eyes. Ever since going to Bella Vista Lash Lounge, my natural eyelashes have gotten significantly healthier & my extensions have such a consistently long retention. Emma and Lena have both done my lashes and they are both angels. I get more of a unique lash map (anime/wet) and every time I show them a reference photo, they give me EXACTLY what I asked for. I made an appointment or a hybrid lash fill. The place itself is nice and cozy. Parking is street parking and not easy. The tech I had was...not good. She was constantly pushing down on my head, pushing into my eye when placing lashes, pulling things out, brushing my skin/eyelid with the brush, etc. It was legit painful and far from relaxing. The appoint time for a two-week hybrid fill was 1.5 hrs, which is kinda ridiculous. I needed 40 mins max. But the tech used the full amount of time. The result was a full volume, caterpillar look. Nancy is the best lash tech I have ever worked with. Please keep in mind that I drive from MD to her her services done. Prices might be a bit higher/ pricier but please keep in mind retention makes up for the price. Seats are comfortable and music is good and soothing. I haven't been there since they upgraded the lounge seats but I will say- the previous bench's were a great places where I can take a lash nap. read more

DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE! they quoted me "$120" over the phone them charged me "$380" after the service was already done. failed to mention that price different before she started the service. slowest service i have ever received. i was there for 4 hours!!! on top of that the lash tech has terrible technique and was burning my left eye the whole time (probably added too much glue) but now THE NEXT DAY my eye is still burning and hurts every time i blink. it's a scam. i doubt the women in there are licensed and what they're doing to people should be illegal. I would very much like some kind of a refund. lashes are alright i guess but not for the price. definitely not for the pain my eyes are going thru now. read more

I had an appointment with Nancy yesterday for the ombre powder brows. I was very nervous about getting my eyebrows done since it is a semi permanent procedure but I'm so happy with the results. I always wanted to get it done but I didn't see anything on Instagram that was my kind of style. Nancy was a sweetheart. She was very patient with me when i told her I didn't have the slightest clue what I really wanted. All I told her was that I wanted something more natural and for the color to be less dark. She asked for photos to get an idea of how I would normally style my brows. She had drafted my eyebrow based on pictures and my bone structure to get the perfect shape. Nancy would ask for my opinion and would adjust based on her recommendations and my inputs. One thing that Nancy said to me was that she's a perfectionist, which made me feel so relieved that I chose this place. Not once did I hear her sigh or felt like she was rushing to get it done. Wow! I'm super impressed by the quality and work done by owner Megan. I got so many compliments at work and from my friends, that I have to get a refill. I got the Hybrid and unfortunately didn't take a picture to show you how stunning I looked. The lashes didn't look fake or too voluminous. I asked for glam and got lots of it, which is exactly what I wanted. Perfect for a busy mom who doesn't want to wear make up. At work people thought I had make up on when I didn't. No more "You look tired" comments. I already finished week 2 of my lashes and I'm still getting compliments. Pay with cash to avoid the processing fee. FYI - I've had my lashes done by somebody earlier this year in another state and the quality just didn't compare. The lashes looked good but not stunning and the lashes started falling off within days. After week 1, I hardly had any lashes left. It takes an artist to put the lashes together in such a way that will transform your face. Lash extensions are such a subtle change but makes a big difference. The place I usually go to (before giving my natural lashes a little break) didn't have any appointments available for like a week and I needed them done like asap for an event.
