Jamie listened to all of my ideas about designing my ring, answered all of our questions openly and honestly, gave her professional opinion when I wanted it, remained excited and supportive throughout the process, and worked behind the scenes to make me the perfect ring. And all of this, extremely efficiently! With others, I was told my ideas would not look good, pressured, lied to, and they were not even going to make any proofs of my ring! Getting a wax proof seemed to be standard at Champaign Jewelers, and had it not been perfect, Jamie would have had no problem sending feedback to make sure it was. She even researched where one of my rings came from so that same supplier could help match my custom ring's details! They also fixed the prior damage to my wedding ring! Every time we went into Champaign Jewelers, we felt welcomed, at ease, listened to, and appreciated. We had a wonderful experience, and will never even THINK about going anywhere else ever again! Had I come here initially, I would have had my gorgeous, complete set well before my wedding, and a lot of saved stress.

I went there looking for an engraved locket for my mother and while they didn't have anything in stock that fit what I needed, they told me they could easily order it in and engrave the locket in store but the whole process would take two weeks tops from beginning to end. They called while I was there and confirmed their supplier had the item I wanted and would ship it to Christopher's right away. I actually live in Los Angeles but my in-laws live in Champaign, so I paid in full for the locket and engraving and agreed that my mother in law would collect the order when it was ready and send it to me. Fine. Except it took over 10 days longer than the completion date they gave me and I ended up having to bug them about it. When I finally got the locket, the last letter on the engraving looked like an M instead of an N but I didn't bother to call them. I was just disappointed with the experience overall, and hope it may have been different if I'd ordered a custom item instead.

I've been here twice, and both times service was quick, friendly, and satisfying. Robert (I assume?) explained everything he did clearly, and I really appreciate when people take the time to let you know what's going on. There was also another jewelry artist there who was also all-around awesome. I swear I'd hang there all day if that wasn't weird. I've only needed small repairs so far (reattaching a crystal, replacing a wrist strap), but this would be my first stop if I needed any watch repair, simple or complex, quartz or mechanical. And the prices are very fair, so don't let the jewelry scare you off. AND I learned that Robert does pocket watch repair too! It's a vanishing craft, and we are really lucky to have a specialist right in town. A few years ago I had been searching for someone to service my pocket watches (regular cleaning), and had no idea Robert's was even an option--I wish I did. The location I went to specialized in clock repair, but even they had to outsource the work. I may have briefly come across Robert's online, but probably assumed it was the "battery-change specialist" kind of jewelry shop. I'm kicking myself for past-me being a doofus. Champaign truly has a gem (ha ha) in Robert's!

We just got a Tiffany's ring appraised, mistakenly, at this business. They gave us an accurate raw…read morematerial pricing on the ring, however, failed to account for the Tiffany's name. This was a complete waste of $165 since we will have to go elsewhere to get an appraisal that accounts for this important aspect of this ring. They knew this was a Tiffany's ring before hand, it was discussed very blatantly, but no one informed us that this would be an (accurate) raw material appraisal. Looking at the Tiffany's website, a smaller ring of much lower quality retails for thousands more than their estimate. Very disappointed! They offer free cleanings and basic repairs (if a setting is loose or what have you) and their customer service/timeliness was great. This doesn't make up for how cheated we feel after this appraisal.
