My experience buying a car from this Carmax was a mixed bag to be sure. This isn't my first time…read morebuying through a Carmax. It's a fine option for a person who doesn't really need to be "sold" a car, rather someone who has done all their own research on what they want to buy, has a price in mind, and just wants to go get it without too much hassle. There are some advantages to buying here, like the ability to bring it back within 10 days for a full refund, and not having to haggle. If you like the price, you buy the car, if you don't, you move on. Disadvantages of course, are pretty much that the salesman is not super motivated to sell you a car, and is therefore not going to be very knowledgeable about whatever car you roll up about and want to look at. This is fine for me, I knew what I wanted, and I got it. It wasn't without difficulty however. The specific car I wanted had to come in from Georgia, which I paid a transfer fee for. It was supposed to take 3-5 days, it ended up being over 2 weeks. This left us short a car for awhile, as we had already given up the other car based on their timeline. They did refund the transfer fee, so that made it partially right, but I say this to not take their word on their timelines. My second complaint, is that the transaction took WAY TOO LONG inside Carmax, especially given I had already filled out most paperwork in advance. The person helping us seemed pretty new, and she kept having to get up and ask other associates questions. She also was not very observant, we were pointing out things on the screen that she was missing. She really should have had someone looking over her shoulder to help, as she was not ready to be on her own. Finally, it's a good thing I advocated for myself and knew to check for certain things. Our new car is a plug in hybrid, and the car was supposed to come with a charging cable. It was not in the car anywhere, but with a little persistence they gave me one from their service center. Carmax does do a thorough inspection on the cars they sell, and actually, the independent shop I brought the car to said they've not had many problems with Carmax missing things. In my case that held true, their Volvo certified mechanic found nothing wrong with my car mechanically, and said it appears to have been well maintained and serviced. He did find a very small windshield chip, which Carmax fixed free of charge without any complaint. Would I buy another car from Carmax? I would, but I am someone who just needs someone to facilitate the transaction, I'm savvy enough to know the car on my own and do my own research. I wouldn't recommend Carmax as a place for the inexperienced buyer.

There are not words to describe how dissatisfied I am with this business. Sara Jackson is the…read moreowner. She told me that she would sign the title over to a truck she had sold me that was not driving at the time only after it was fixed and it had inspection. I did all that and when I contacted her she told me that not only did I not have an emissions tomorrow inspection (which the truck didn't need because it was older than 20 years), but she told me I'd have to pay the 399 admin fee. The truck only cost $600. After agreeing to that and convincing her that it didn't need emissions, I showed up at the business on a Wednesday at 11am (opening time) and nobody was there. There was a note on her door with her phone number so I called her and she told me she had stuff to do so I'd have to wait 30 minutes for her to arrive. Fine. I waited 2 hours and she didn't come and didn't answer any of my calls. I also lived 45 minutes from the place so I had spent 3 1/2 hours to get nowhere so I did all I knew to do in the situation, called the non emergency police number so an officer could sort out the situation. She told the officer on the phone that she didn't need to do anything and that she could charge me $1000 for the title if she wanted. That didn't explain why she couldn't even come to the dealership which she OWNS and help a customer that already gave her money and was giving her more money.I called her lawyer who I found on the internet and at that point she agreed to meet me once again and give me the title(for a $400 fee). The next day I returned and waited another hour and a half and when she finally showed up she was very rude to me and made me give her everything from the name and number of the inspection station I used to my name and address again(she already had all this on file). The whole situation has been the most frustrating purchase of a vehicle Ive ever done. One bonus, when I went to get the title in my name, the DMV told me it would be months before I could get the title because it had a brand on it(she told me that the title was clean and it said clean). Sara Jackson from Isaiah's auto sales is the most rude person I've come into contact with ever. Speaking of contact, none of this had anything to do with covid. She wasn't even wearing a mask when I sat down with her.

I'm a 18 year old girl I was really looking for as new as I could get with the less miles the better, I was really not expecting to find one. But this dealer had a 2019 Honda accord sport in AMAZING condition to be a salvaged/ rebuilt title car, only 60,000 miles on it. They were 100% honest about the history of the car and showed us pictures of the accident it was in, offered history of the work that was done to rebuild it and everything. When we went to get the car they let us test drive it and even offered for us to take it to a mechanic, We bought the car the same day because I fell in love with it. After about a week or 2 of driving it the airbag light same on, I contacted them and they told me to bring it up there. They kept the car and fixed the airbag wires that were ineffective, AND they pointed out that I had a small slow oil leak that they said there mechanic didn't catch before it would've been about a $1000+ job for a fix and labor for a mechanic to fix and they fixed it for free!! They even drove to Greensboro to get the part, AMAZING service. They filled the car up and while it was in the shop for about a week they gave me a really nice Subaru that was wonderful. I have never met another dealership that points out something that's wrong with the car knowing I didn't know about it and paid to fix it, gave me a rental car and filled my car up before they got it back to me. When I need another car in 6 years I know where I'll be going! Would recommend to anyone in need of a good reliable vehicle sold to them by someone who isn't being sneaky and is loyal to there costumers even after the sale is made.
