Horrible customer service, bought a bracelet here said he made it himself wore it 2 hours then it broke. I called to let him know as soon as it happened said he would take care of when I came back just now he got in my face, yelled & was rude because I wanted a refund. Said I was accusing him when I said his work breaks. I would not buy from him, just know if something happens with the jewelry he will not refund your money! EDIT: I'm not a kid I'm a grown woman, I didn't second guess my purchase because of the money spent I second guessed my purchase because it broke after TWO HOURS! I have had several pieces made in solid gold and have never had any of them break! Make sure you include how hostile you came at me, and how you were a grown man getting in a woman's face like you were ready to come at me. To add on, he stated the bracelet was 18K gold. Was in Arizona for a friend's bachelor's party and wanted to buy a mother's day gift since AZ was known for gemstones and handcrafted jewelry. Was told a pendant necklace was filled gold and real jade and topaz. Sold to me for about $100 and told me it was originally $230. I was told it was an antique. After flying back home to California, I examined it and found that it was worn in some areas and the jade looked fake. After a quick google search, I found the same exact pendant on Alibaba for $5 and that he simply swapped out the chain. The gold filled, was gold plated, the topaz was zircon. I could dwell on the shame of being scammed, but what stays with me more is the deep disappointment that someone would exploit me in my attempt to show gratitude to my mother. Edit: I wanted this experience to be over when I made my original post, but this had been dredged into my day again before Mother's Day. It is despicable that this man is doubling down on his deceit and claims I did not purchase this from his store. I do not have the receipt, but I have posted a section of my bank statement for the public to prove I made a purchase at his store that aligns with the price I stated I paid. I desire no further contact from this evil man. Yelp has also stated I violated posting guidelines for posting a picture of the same pendant I found on Alibaba. But you can simply google "jade butterfly gold pendant" and find links for this product on Alibaba, Amazon, Etsy, and Ebay for a far cheaper price than what I paid for. read more

We recently visited Scottsdale and decided to explore the Old Town shops. John's shop stood apart from the rest in terms of both interesting variety and John's impressive knowledge of virtually every piece in his store. John is a very friendly and outgoing kind of guy. My very first impression of him was simply that he was talkative, but as I have gotten to know him since that first visit I have come to understand that what is really happening is John is passionate about art, and he surrounds himself with items that ignite that spark within him. On our initial visit a large format copper flat art piece caught my attention. It turned out to be the most interesting item I saw in all of Old Town. Of course, John was able to share with me every detail about the artist, their processes, the materials, the context. He even went so far as to compare and contrast it with other similar works he had in his store. We had not gone to Old Town with the intention of purchasing a large artwork so we eventually moved on, but that piece of art made an impression on us and we found we were talking about it that evening and the next morning. It really resonated with both of us. Long story short, I made a couple of emails and then a few phone calls to John over the next few days. I asked all sorts of questions, including some relatively technical, and John took all the time needed to address my every concern and curiosity. If he didn't know the answer in the moment, he would plainly say so, and he would find the answer and get back to me. Negotiating a price could not have been easier, or fairer. In fact, I think John gave us a little too good of a deal, but he should consider it a long term investment because we will absolutely be visiting his store whenever in Scottsdale. It'll be our first stop. John handled the oversized shipping expertly. As a former preparator and installer of museum-grade fine art, I can tell you this man knows what he is doing and I would trust him without hesitation to ship anything. In fact I will go so far as to say I just trust him, period. John strikes me as a good man who is passionate about his products and customers. I sincerely look forward to not only our next visit to Scottsdale, but to developing a lasting relationship. Took us for a ride Interesting how you start in a random store and all the rest you go to the same item is half as much. An item was listed at $595 but it was 70% off, so we thought we got it for a steal. It was exactly what we were looking for, we were happy with the purchase, and went on our way. We would have rated the experience higher, if at the next store (and all proceeding) the same item was listed at $125 with 50% sales. Same quality, but different colors. Now we feel duped. The salesman was passionate, albeit quite aggressive and pushy. His story on some of his pieces changed as the conversation went on. He wanted to make the sale so he "could go home." After reading others' reviews after posting my comment, I've noticed he's been "closing up shop" since 2012. I'll make sure to never recommend this place to others. Update: The business owner has reached out to me three times now and is argumentative and appears very angry. I'd like to lower my review to a one-star because I'm getting sick and tired on his excuses but I can't blame him for wanting money or appearing disparate after reopening after the pandemic, so that extra star is a sympathy star . From $899 to $400, how lucky could I be to get a "sale" on an estate .925 sterling silver ring? How foolish do you think I am? Scummy sales practices trying to pull a quick one on the customer that usually will be a traveler. When you express you aren't interested in purchasing an item the owner takes that very personally. After showing me a bracelet I didn't even ask to have pulled out, I considered it, but mentioned it wasn't my style. This shop is terrible, the owner is a crook. He is mean, rude and insulting! He is an obnoxious over bearing and pushy sales man. He sold my mom a ring that he said he made, told her it was silver. After she showed it to me and we overlooked it, it is clearly not silver. It was not stamped. We took it back the next day to exchange it. After being insulted several times by the owner and witnessing him insult other customers. We worked a deal for 2 other pieces of jewelry and then told him we were exchanging the ring from the day before he lost his mind. Yelling and screaming and cussing at us. Would like to give a Zero. I gave John a chance for one week calling daily. No chance to put a message for John. Bought a ring on our trip to Scottsdale. John was very nice, new how to make a conversation but suupper pushy. I liked a pendant and he offered to convert the pendent to a ring with very poor craftmanship AND sold it 3x as expensive as his neighbor jewlers. That left a very bad taste. I felt so cheated when I saw his neighbor jewlers having jewlery at a third of his prices. I wore the ring 2 days and the stone is now loose!! I can't wear it ! I have called him from morning to night on a daily basis and have had my husband do the same. No voicemail. That store was not busy and my gut feeling says he cheats on all the customers, hence he DOES NOT PICK UP THE PHONE.
