Excellent Service I had an issue with Catalytic Convertor on my car and they were not only able to diagnose it properly but also explain to me what exactly is wrong and which Catalytic convertor out of 3 total in my car needs replacing. I remember them as I had got some muffler decorative upgrades done from them about 9 years back. Great work my car was fixed and passed Smog after the fix..... Two words: master craftsmanship. I recently purchased a used Chevy 1500 4x4 and the exhaust tips badly needed to be replaced. I found Zamudio's Muffler Shop on Yelp so I figured I'd give it a shot. They were open on Sat so I drove in just to see if they had any replacement tips. One of the guys showed me some tips, quoted me a fair price, and said they could start now. It turned out he was Mr Zamudio, the owner and he went on to show me these really cool robots he made out of mufflers and how he torched a stuck bolt out of an old manifold. For car guys, this place is too cool. Mr Zamudio himself did the job and I got to watch new tailpipes being expertly crafted to fit, then welded in. The fit was perfect. New tips were installed, the old Flowmaster had a much better note. I can't imagine going anywhere else to have exhaust work done on my 4x4. This is a family run business, very nice people, and it's great that old-school places like this still exist. They even give out these cool little branded keychains to customers. My car wasn't passing a smog check. " You have so many holes in your muffler that we can't smog it," said the guy at the smog check place I went to. There is no Midas in Tracy, so no obvious place here to get your muffler fixed. So I turned to Yelp. Zamudio's came up first. I called them and they could take me the next morning. When they raised my car, the owner also pointed out holes in another part (the resonator). They were obvious, so I said "OK, replace that, too." I wanted to wait while the work was done and he escorted me to the office, which overlooked the work area. Now I know why more shops don't do mufflers. Not only is there welding, but lots of grinding of the parts to get them all to fit. There is a lot of craftsmanship involved. It took less than the 2 hours he quoted. When I paid the bill, the woman in the office (his daughter, I think), handed me a little box with a key chain in it. It was a really high quality chrome key chain - one of the nicest I've ever seen. One assumes that that a business that gives out high quality gifts does good work (it indicates pride and high standards to me, at least). I certainly had no problems passing the smog check afterward. i would definitely go back. It was an excellent experience. read more
