I went through your drive thru and every time I go through it, I always get less portions for some reason going through there instead of coming inside. today specifically it looks like I got the bottom of the pan where it's almost gone because my noodles are stale. Also there aren't really any noodles, looks like you gave me the rest of what was in the pan, left overs. I would rather wait 10 minutes or however long to cook more noodles to get warm noodles, that aren't stale and cold. I not very happy with this location at all. read more

Almost every time our order is messed up or missing something. They forgot a whole entree item and I had to come back to get it, gave me a $10 voucher for the trouble but then I tried to use it and they said it was invalid. Extremely poor and rude service. Healthy Fast Food? YES! Of all of the Zao Asian Cafe locations in the valley I've eaten at, this location seems to be consistently fresh and flavorful. Limited menu: Bowls, Zao Tacos, Salads, Banh Mi Wraps, or Soup. I always get the salad with noodles vs rice with all the topping except the dried onions. I switch up the proteins (chicken, Meatballs, Steak, Tofu, or Vegetarian, depending on what I feel like that day. They have a kids menus with the option of a Bowl or Taco (a drink is included.) Staff really tries to get you in and out quickly. It helps if you already know what you want to order. It takes a bit longer to go through the line because food is made to order, and it takes a few minutes to put your order together. (Which is fine by me) When there are a lot of people eating inside, it gets loud, and is hard to hear. Order through their app to earn rewards. If you are not eating inside, they do have a drive thru. *One drawback is they are located in the maze of Jordan Landing across from Lowes read more

Take out tour 2021 I stopped in at the Zell drive-through to get some tasty beverages. The first one I got was passion limeade very mild passion flavor this one is yummy I would definitely order it again. The second one I got was strawberry lemon grass super delicious a hint of strawberry a hint of lemon grass perfectly refreshing. The final juice was Thai mango light taste of mango with a hint of Thai flavoring but mostly mango. This one was not my favorite I would definitely get the strawberry lemon grass or passion limeade instead. There is one left I did not get to try The flavor is cucumber something may be in line lime I will get that next time and then update my review. The food here is fresh and unique I would recommend trying it next time I go I will get some pictures of the food. This drive-through is always fast and they are always friendly. read more

Zao is one of those restaurants that I sometimes forget about, but when I stumble back upon it, I remember how good it really is! This is a brand new location-equipped with a drive thru-in a busy shopping area. I bet it will be hopping! We visited the dining area and ate in rather than using the drive thru. The ordering process was simple enough-the menu clearly outlines the options, plus you can see all the ingredients at the counter, so you can choose what you'd like as it's being made in front of you. I had a little trouble communicating with the lady who was making my food. I'm not sure if our masks inhibited conversation or if there was a language barrier. But eventually, with lots of pointing and head nods, we got it figured out. My chicken rice bowl was amazing! The seasoning on the chicken, paired with the tangy teriyaki sauce was just what my belly needed. My wife ordered beef tacos and enjoyed them up until the point where she bit into one piece of beef that was incredibly undercooked. Unfortunately, that was the end for her-she doesn't do raw meat very well. The soda selection was adequate, although the machine was not working. But there were four different flavored tea options, so we moved on to that. I assume that's better for us anyway, right? I'm hoping the new location will work out a few kinks and then be ready to take on all the hungry shoppers of Jordan Landing. read more

Zao Asian Cafe just opened in Jordan Landing and I'm all for it!!! They are new, fresh, clean and healthy! They have the philosophy of living simple and living healthy, which is the basic premise of their food. It all has very Southeast Asian feel, with the Bahn Mi Wraps, Noodle Bowls, Tofu and the rest of their ingredients. All very delicious and filling. Their staff are really great about explaining their offerings and you can't go wrong with anything. They are OPEN LATE (for Utah 10pm) AND...have a drive thru! It's so great!!! This location has become very inconsistent. Whenever I come in, it's always a different food charge, different food portions different taste; just not like it used to be for a while. Today I had chicken bowl, it had so much mushy rice I was unable to finish it. I didn't even have enough sauce to coat the rice. I hardly got any chicken and asked for extra Broccoli since I hardly got any chicken, That was an extra (75.) wasn't even told it was an extra charge. I usually leave a tip even more if I eat inside. But if you're going to include a tip option for take out orders and the food sucked. You're serving up more then just bad food you're also giving people, tippers remorse ! yes I know it's a thing now since that's how I felt after my take out order here. I am so happy Zao is now open in Jordan Landing! We went on a Thursday night and there were some people dining in, and no long line. They have tables marked off for social distancing, 6ft. markers on the floor, and hand sanitizer. I got the soup with rice noodles and meatballs. I did add jalapeños and it added a nice kick to the soup. I would opt out the corn next time. It reminded me of pho- Obviously not like homemade pho, but the broth was really tasty and not oily. My husband got a rice bowl with brown rice, chicken and the chili lemongrass sauce. The carrots and daikon were crunch and the chicken had slight grill marks. I felt like having something quick/healthy after a workout and saw Zao's interesting Asian menu. I don't have quick asian eats around me so I was skeptical. I ordered the natural chicken bowl with half rice noodles and lettuce, the zao way (everything on it). It was delicious to say the least, the tiger sauce was sweet/tangy and all the veggies were compliments. I definitely would not recommend people with peanut allergies to eat here. The only reason why I got to try this place is because I work for doctors office and the doctor picked this place to eat. Mind you I've tried many many other Asian restaurants and Zaos never sparked my interest to ever eat there. I should of went with my gut instinct and just ate my 'home lunch' instead of eating at zaos even if it was a free meal from my doctor. We went in to pick up the food and I noticed the workers not even changing their gloves when they touch food/ the register. They also don't use different serving spoons for the toppings. They just used their hands to grab all the toppings, which is why if you have a peanut allergy you should note they don't care to use a different serving spoon. They just used their hands to grab the peanuts, and then move on to the next plate and don't switch their gloves. When I ate my food Instantly felt sick and started going into anaphylactic shock. At work I had to take a Benadryl and go to the urgent care to get a steroid shot to make sure I wasn't gonna die I'd say If I didn't take that Benadryl it would of been my worse nightmare and I would of been in terrible condition. If I could give this place -5 stars I would. The workers are terrible and don't care when it comes to cross contamination. read more

It's been some time since I've had any problems at this location. In years that I've been going to Zao, this is the only location where I am having problems. Not once have I had any issues at any other locations. I am a vegetarian and clearly state that I want tofu, every time. Today while eating I found pieces of meat in my food. That is half a bowl going to the garbage. Because I've gone so long without meat, eating meat will give me effects like food poisoning. Now I'm worried that I might've ate some of this meat and that I will later begin to vomit and feel sick. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. This place has become my go to place for a quick, but also yummy/healthy meal. I absolutely adore it and come here a bit too much. I never feel guilty about what I ate afterwards. Food tasted good I may go back for take out. My problem was the mandatory gratuity. (I do not have a problem tips 15-20% for positive table or home delivery service.) There was no table service at all; drink or table. In order to pay, the cashier gave me the option of 10, 15 or 20%. He even repeated it 3 times. I discovered zao about 3 years ago. I've been to the one by the U and other locations a handful of times and wasn't too impressed. I actually found a bug in my food once so I haven't been back since. Today, I decided to try this location and was pleasantly surprised. It was the cleanest Zao I've ever been to and the staff was really proficient and nice and professional. The food could use a little more flavor but overall it was a lovely experience. If you want a clean Zao location, go to this one! read more

First of all, I love that this location has a drive thru! And that the menu is simple to navigate through with all the options available in plain sight. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious! My favorite is the chicken teriyaki bowl with brown rice and Zao's way topping. I also get a side of the chili lemongrass sauce to give it an extra zing. There are plenty of other options as well from salads, to noodles and wraps.
