I came here today and had one of the worst experiences. The cashier, an older man, seemed to have difficulty understanding my order due to a language barrier. Instead of trying to clarify, he was rude and eventually had a younger employee take over my order. Unfortunately, my order was still incorrect. I ordered a bánh mì but was given spring rolls instead. I had to return the food and wait for the correct order, which was very frustrating. To make matters worse, there was an older woman standing right next to me the entire time I was ordering. She made me feel very uncomfortable, and it felt like there was no respect for customers' personal space or privacy. First time here. Spot has potential. The northern style pho was a little too sweet for my taste but it wasn't bad. More preference than anything. The noodles weren't as silky and soft like in Vietnam but not sure if this is an availability of product or the noodles just wasn't cooked long enough. There were plenty of rare beef cuts in my bowl, which was nice. Never thought I'd say this, but the sriracha brand they had (Flying Goose Brand) was not good IMO for the usual hoisin/sriracha mix to dip your meat in. The egg rolls were ok. Probably could've sat in the oil for another 30-45 seconds for me. The filling kinda had me worried that it wasn't cooked through but I could be paranoid. They used the actual egg roll wrapper and didn't use rice paper so that was nice. The Vietnamese coffee was as expected. Nothing special but nothing wrong either. Just what you expect from it. We also ordered brisket pho and that was good if you enjoy a fattier meat. Definitely flavorful. Soup was served with the usual ingredients of basil, jalapeños, lime, mung bean sprouts. We also ordered an appetizer of three beef wraps. I can't remember what they were called, and I'm too lazy to look it up. They were wrapped in rice paper, and served with a delicious sauce. I personally liked the beef wraps even more than the pho, and that pho was delicious. :) Service was straightforward. Perfect spot for a hot beef noodle soup on a cold morning. Our first time here from SoCal. Got to say, the foods are good. The broth is almost spot on, but still yummy. The bowl is big w/ decent price. The banh mi is quite good, the meat is quite flavorful and perfect ratio with the veggies, they even cut into 2 and perfectly wrapped for you. I used to love coming here for lunch and ordering their spring rolls. They add a little crunch that fills me up. I came for dinner this time and was pleased with their chicken wings. They were saucy and well cooked. The service was decent although they forgot my drink because of the rush but it was a quick fix. They had plenty of sauces on the tables which was nice. I didn't have to keep asking and instead enjoyed my food when it was presented. It's surrounded by windows and there is a lot of seating area. My brother and I stopped here to try out some hot soup to warm us up on a frigid Friday night. We opted for takeout. When we arrived around 7:30 PM there was no one inside dining. Although there were multiple to-go orders sprawled out across their back counter. The cashier greeted us, as well as, a gentleman who was bussing tables. Very friendly. He told us to look at the menu, order from the cashier, and sit wherever you like. It was our first time trying this spot. They have quite an extensive menu. My brother got the House special Pho and I got the Chicken Rice Porridge and a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. I can only speak for my dishes. I didn't try my brother's House Pho. The iced coffee was delicious. I tend to like stronger coffee. Rollz is a lil more sweet than strong. I still enjoyed it. The broth of my Chicken Rice Porridge was so yummy and flavorful. Unfortunately the chicken was tough and chewy. It looked to be either chicken leg or thigh. There were two whole bones with a little meat inside the porridge. Along with the shredded chicken and skin. I don't know if it was the quality of the meat, or the cooking process, or if it was a tad undercooked. (Which it didn't look to be at all) After eating half the porridge I ended up pouring it out into a small pot and simmering it for 15-20 minutes to see if it would make a difference in the texture, but alas. It was still a bit tough and chewy, with a few pieces softening up. I eventually just pushed the chicken off to the side and consumed the flavorful broth only. Even though the chicken was a disappointment, I would still come back to try different menu items based off that flavorful porridge base alone. read more

We haven't been here since they changed ownership two years ago. And honestly, we are pleasantly surprised. We ordered a rice plate, pho dac biet (the large is ridiculously huge), Vietnamese coffee and banh mi (to go). Food is delicious with authentic Vietnamese flavors that taste homemade. Broth is rich and we like that they have different cuts/types of meats (oxtail, tendon, etc) that other Vietnamese restaurants in SLC do not typically offer. The Vietnamese coffee is not too sweet and has a hint of that rich chocolatey flavor. I look forward to trying some other dishes here. Tips : 1. This is the type of establishment where you order and pay at the counter first, seat yourselves and they will bring the food out. 2. No kids menu, but not a big deal as their portions are pretty big and I can usually share something with my child. 3. So glad I decided to get something other than my beloved lemongrass tofu bahmi (photos below are from a prior dining experience) because the spicy Korean beef was very good. Let me start by saying the pho was literally the best I've ever had and I have eaten a lot of pho in my years. Everything we ate was fresh and flavorful and served incredibly quickly! This is sort of your consummate hole in the wall restaurant that one hopes to find. You order at the counter and they bring out your food when it's ready. All the silverware and sauces are at the table. They could use more cleaning throughout the day. Let's get the cons out of the way first: a big walk from parking. If you have dining companions with mobility issues, you may need to drop them off first before parking. The second issue is that there is very little space from the door to the ordering area so you may be waiting outside if there is a line. Last, if you have issues seeing the menu board with a great many choices, it's hard to order without enough time to look at everything. They do have paper menus, but those really should be stored near the door for guests to peruse while they wait. All right, now for the pros: it smells sensational when you do walk through the door. Good food, and they have Boba. The Hainan chicken was just meh, but really that is just because it is boiled chicken. The Lemongrass Tofu was great, as were the spring rolls. They have a good deal of bahn mi, pho, rice platters, and salad options, as well as more roll options than I've seen anywhere else. Gluten free items did not appear to be clearly marked, so we had to ask. The establishment was clean, and tables were cleared quickly after diners left. We will be back. read more

I found my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Utah--Rollz! The owner is from Orange County, California and if you haven't been there, definitely pay a visit. Orange County's "Little Saigon" is known for having some of the best Vietnamese food, so it's no surprise how excellent the food is at Rollz! My friend introduced me to this restaurant, as she's lived here for over 22 years and this is her favorite restaurant. She also introduced me to Pho Bac Northern Style with Tenderloin Wide Noodle, something I've never tried before. I've had pho hundreds of times, but never like this. The broth is a little on the sweeter side and doesn't have that strong pho flavor. It tasted great, and what I loved most about it were the thin strips of ginger that they added. It really enhanced the broth and overall taste. This pho came with fresh wide noodles slightly wider than linguine but smaller than fettuccini, and beef tenderloin, which is really, well, tender! I highly high recommend that you try this pho. For $13.75 you get a ginormous bowl with lots of meat and lots of noodles. The owner was extremely friendly and really knew how to make a customer feel welcomed. I honestly loved everything about this restaurant and would come here again and again when I'm in town. The decorations were beautiful, the restaurant was immaculately clean, food quality was exceptional, customer service was spot on, and even the drinking water was very well filtered and tasted fresh! Oh and their ice dispenser had crushed chewable ice, which I love! Two things worth noting: 1. You pay upfront at the counter when you order. 2. You leave the restaurant smelling the same as you did when you arrived. Being from Orange County CA, a lot of people have tried the pork rolls at Brodard Restaurant and I was expecting their grilled pork rolls to be slightly similar, but it was subpar. The sauce to dip the rolls in is good though. The banh mi looked good in their photos, but lack flavor. I normally get banh mi from oh mai or pho Saigon, but wanted to try a new place. The bread here is fresh and the perfect baguette texture so that it isn't so hard it cuts the top of your mouth. However, their pickled veggies needed more flavor. Same with the bbq pork, it lacked the authentic Vietnamese thit nuong flavor, it was very bland. The house special sandwich had a bit more flavor, but too much black pepper. read more

Served with some kind of sweet broth soup and a sweet side of something not sure what I was supposed to do with. I dipped my chicken in it a couple times. It's quick service so the chicken was certainly precooked and the sauce tossed on when I ordered. For a quick healthy-ish lunch not bad. Would t rush back but would come here again.
