When my daughter turned three we were the first to enroll for the year. She LOVES it just as much, if not more, than I did! This is her second year and she still loves every second. She has the same combo teacher I had. Miss Jennifer is not to be trifled with, she instills discipline and learning ears into her dancers but in the most loving way. The dancers adore her. I adore her!! If you're looking for a dance studio that truly cares about your kids, this is it. There's no gimmicks, there's no upselling, it's not commercial. Jeanne's school of dance, (now JEM Dance) has always been and will always be a family business. I recommend them to every person who shares the love of dance.

It was not a grand performance but a family performance in the studio itself with costumes supplied by the studio. The teacher was amazing and I could see that my granddaughter absolutely worships her. She had gone to a different school before which was not personal and terribly commercial. I can see that this teacher really cares about the children and their dance performance which is reflected in the skills that my Eowyn has learned. The dance performance didn't cost any money for admission or for costumes and they didn't try to sell anything to us afterwards. It was simply a Christmas gift to the families and the students and it was so greatly appreciated. This charming theater is located in the thick of the heart of downtown Gilbert. As far as I could tell, they don't have a parking lot but there is plenty of free street and surface lots close by. Just a few minutes away by foot. All theaters have their pros and cons and Hale is no different. It's a intimate theater that probably can seat a few hundred people tops. Which means there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Well, let's talk about the seats. The space between seats is pretty cramped if you're tall (I'm 6'2"). Let's switch gears again. Concessions consists of snacks (no hot food) and beverages. During intermission, they bring a cart out to the stage so you don't have to go to the lobby. Nicely done! Reasonable prices too for a venue. The lobby area gets pretty packed right before the show. Rather than messing with the traffic jam, I went to the other side of the theater and went to the restroom there. It's a one person restroom (not ideal for a venue) but the restrooms by the lobby are larger. I saw Catch Me If you Can at Hale. Looking forward to my next visit!

The City…read moreof Chandler has rapidly grown over the years and this was my first visit to Chandler Center For The Arts. On this Saturday night the artist performing was Pat Metheney. At the onset before the performance we were told that this would be the last concert of the season. The Chandler Center is going to get a renovation and probably will not be open until late October or early November. This Center houses a large venue and on this Saturday night it was pretty much a sold out crowd. When Pat Metheney came out he didn't waste any time and just started playing. The crowd was really into the music and so was I. The place has provisions for the handicapped and does allow for drinks during the performance. I really don't know what else to add other than the place is impressive. When it opens up again in the Autumn maybe take a look at what they have in the concert venue. I guess we got lucky to attend their last concert of the season.

I enjoyed and was so impressed by the show entitled Retablo Sonorense. It featured handmade shoe of cloth and glass, canvases with embroidered people and then painted. Amy and Kaley are super involved and they encourage parents and students to get involved, often through dance and events. We feel like everyone there is our extended family and if we ever had any concerns, immediate attention is always there. My daughter started out in combo class and progressed to the school's dance team, Power Force Dance Team. Through the different disciplines she has learned poise and grace, precision, furthering her drive to be better, and courage and motivation to try something new. The teachers are very skilled at each level and many were previous students of Jeanne's in the past. Their attitude reflects their love of dance and working with kids! This may be random but my appreciation for the studio is that they carry all the dance gear you need and often times, it is less than what you spend in the dance stores.
