I had my wedding after-party here on October 1, in an effort to recreate our first date (which…read moreconsisted of seeing a show at Starlight Theater across the street - where we had our ceremony - and bowling afterward). My husband and I came in a few months ahead of time, and we were very anxious about whether we would be able to do what we wanted here and what our cost would be. Everyone we spoke with at Century Bowl was super accommodating leading up to the big day. We reserved a few lanes several months in advance, starting with a smaller headcount, and arranged to bring in donuts and have the venue grab cider, for which we would reimburse them. We were planning everything from Chicago, which was frustrating in some ways, but every time we came in to Century Bowl, we left smiling. On the day of the wedding, we had worked out a photo shoot, so we could come in at 2pm and take some group shots with the cosmic bowling lighting. That didn't end up happening, which I was fine with, but it was great that they were willing to do that for us. We had scheduled our lanes to start at 10, though most people arrived closer to 11, and my husband and I didn't make it until well after that. We had a good number of people bowling, and others drinking or mingling, and I'm sure we were somewhat disruptive, but no one complained about us. We kept the bartender pretty busy, and the last of our group left about half an hour after last call and the lights coming up, as we tried to help clean up a bit. Our ultimate cost to use the venue was very low - we were able to work out that each person would pay for their own games and shoes, at a slightly discounted rate for the larger group, so all we paid was the cost of the cider and donuts, and shoes and Cosmic Bowling for two. My uncle broke his ankle about halfway through the reception when he went outside to smoke and kept partying with us until 1:30am, so I think it was a pretty good party. We were able to serve our donuts and cider at Century Bowl, and everyone was having a lovely time. I was just so, so pleased with how the evening turned out.
