Came here for an after funeral luncheon. They did a really nice job of having the tables set with water upon our arrival. Our server Cam was great about giving people beverages and then once everyone was there after the burial they started bringing out the mini pizza and garlic bread. This was followed by a table side wedding soup and a family style garden salad with great toppings and a light bright dressing. The family style lunch consisted of a lemon chicken, cavatelli, green beans and a potato dish with regular and sweet potatoes. This was followed by a small slice of cassata cake. I got to enjoy a meal with one of my good friends here tonight, and it was a very nice experience. We started off with some complementary bread, which is always a nice touch. Our server was helpful and had good recommendations, and we decided to split the chicken Parmesan with cavatelli marinara, and also the broccolini Alfredo pasta. Each of our entrées came with an option of Italian wedding soup or a salad, and they both came with a small slice of their cassata cake for dessert. Lisa and her crew never disappoint when we are in-town to visit family. Tonight 10 of the Zorman's gathered for a pre-Christmas get-together. The hostess seated us at a round table perfect for conversation. The place was bustling but Sam, our server, was fast and attentive throughout the meal. I had the lasagne (one of my favorites) and Claudette had Chicken Marsala. Everyone had a wonderful time. Per her usual, Lisa came by to check on us mid-meal. I like both, but at different times depending upon the food mood I'm in. Mario Fazio's is really in their own category right in between. It has aspects of red sauce Italian, yet some of the food is quite spectacular. I will crave - crave I tell you - the polenta with Sunday sauce until I return. Absolutely amazing. The staff handled it with a level of professionalism and composure that honestly impressed all of us. And that's where Noah deserves real recognition. Noah went above and beyond in a way that you just don't see every day. When we asked what the plan was if things escalated, he didn't brush it off--he made sure we knew exactly what would happen and reassured us that we would be taken care of and moved safely to the kitchen if needed. I absolutely was in LOVE with this place until today. A group of old Co workers and I came together after work to meet up here as we do every couple of months. We always have great food and great service. Food is always phenomenal! Today was the day that left all of us feeling uneasy and probably will never return to this establishment again. After we ate and paid our bills one of the owners came to our table and said " was the service bad?" We responded no. She said " the no tipping was unacceptable " and then proceeded to say "you all only tipped x amount on this check and x amount on this other check." We all four sat there in shock because none of us has ever had anyone approach us regarding how much we have tipped. Not only in this restaurant but at any restaurant EVER. Keep in mind I come here all the time and I tip very well! So the owner goes to say "where do you all work? What do you do for a living? EXCUSE ME!?!?!?!?!? At this point I wanted to get irate but why match someone's energy that clearly has no tact. She was very loud and hostile to the point all of the employees and the other guests were looking at our table. Talking to us like we were children, definitely had the spotlight on us. I am still in dismay about asking where we work. Smdh. How ridiculous. As a table we tipped 15% which was our choice to do. After she went on with her rant, I decided to go up and talk to her to get a better understanding and try to make some sense of what just happened. I told her that was inappropriate for her to ask us where we worked and explained that we left the amount that we thought the waitress should have. The owner continues to explain that no, an establishment like this you should be tipping 20% and if you're not tipping that then we don't want you in our establishment. WILL DO. I will no longer frequent this restaurant or suggest it to others as I have in the past. Moving forward Lisa,do yourself a favor and add automatic gratuity of 20% to each bill. Disgusted how people treat others. We all agreed had her delivery been different or if the waitress herself came and said she was expecting a bigger tip then she would've got it. But the audacity to think you are going to disrespect and say what someone should've tipped. Wow. Pleasant surprise. Passing through and stopped here. We loved it! Greeted upon arrival. Seated immediately as we had a reservation on a busy Saturday. Entrees both came with soup or salad and dessert. Wine was only $9 a glass. Server was attentive (thanks Avalon!) and checked frequently. Our dishes were well prepared and exactly as stated. The biggest surprise was the price. I had to check the bill as it seemed to be a mistake. Much lower than is typical these days. Overall top marks and we will return every time we pass through. Something was charming about this restaurant. It is a little bit old fashion and has a feel of an upscale dinner. Their Italian wedding soup was so good. The chicken Marsala was okay. Everything tasted fresh and homemade though. The service was good and friendly. Somehow, I felt too close to my neighbors. We recently had a family get together to celebrate our daughter's visit from San Francisco . We had a total of 16 family members and they handled our every need with great care as they always do. The family style that we ordered was great, the service was phenomenal. They had us seated on a long table which was great. The ambience is always great and intimate for what ever size party you have. I worked with Lisa for the reservations and menu. I would highly recommend them for any type of dining need you have. I can't say enough about how Lisa worked with me especially on the Mother's Day weekend . The food was great and the service even better. I did not feel comfortable eating at this place. The waitress did not take the order properly--seemed very aloof. They attempted to charge $10.00 to split a dish with my wife--I eat smaller portions. I told the owner, she was very rude and acted as if she couldn't care less. Food was not really what I expected. I also felt they were over-priced for what you get. My wife & I dined here for the first time on the evening of Sat., 03/02/2024. Not really being a local resident, I chose Mario Fazio's based on its Yelp rating and gluten-free options for my wife. We were not disappointed. The building is unremarkable from the outside & does not appear to be as large as it actually is once inside. Some may consider the decor kitschy, others whimsical, and a few reminiscent of nonna's home sans plastic covers on the furniture. We chose whimsical with the spring/Easter decorations. In any case, it was clean and inviting. We were immediately and warmly greeted by a woman preparing drinks behind the counter. A moment later the host, a friendly young man, also warmly welcomed us and inquired if we had reservations. Uh-oh. We did not. "Let me see what I can do. Please, have a seat and give me a few moments." Shortly thereafter, the host returned to escort us to our table. My wife and I shared a stuffed Hungarian pepper as an appetizer which was among the best we ever had. I had pizza which was very good. My wife had gluten-free pasta with marinara sauce which she said was excellent. Our server provided excellent service but I want to provide a word of caution. Be patient. As I said at the start of my review, Mario Fazio's is about the experience - sharing memories, stories, and laughter with friends and family where the ambience and good Italian cuisine complements rather than becomes the focus of the occasion. If it's your desire to dine in the same amount of time it takes to get the oil in your car changed, this is not the venue for you. One small (petty?) note: soft drinks are served in cans with the server "cracking it open" & pouring it into a glass for you at the table. But we were so pleased by the food and service for our grandpas luncheon that we knew we had to go back to celebrate my grandma this year! Thank you to the servers for being so attentive to our party and so kind to us! Thank you to the chefs for being amazing at what you do! The lunch was a pre-fixed menu and it was so much food! The pizza appetizer is soo delicious! But you get a huge amount served family style and get any leftovers! Garlic bread,pizza, soup, salad,and then the entrees are Lemon chicken/pasta/potatoes/green beans! (Those potatoes were soo tasty!) But the most delicious part.. the cassata cake! It is absolutely divine! Thank you Mario Fazios for being so wonderful again! Definitely recommend for an In-house catered event! My wife suggested we try Mario Fazio's restaurant Friday after work. The parking lot was busy and there was a wait at 7 pm The hostess was friendly and wait went quickly. The waitress was friendly as we were seated. The restaurant is older but very well lighted and bright. We passed on appetizers as meals seemed filling. We ordered a bottle of wine from a local winery were familiar with and both liked the Reisling. My wife tried the Lemon chicken special with risotto and green beans Came with house salad. I tried the Chicken & risotto and both were delicious. I order Sam Sunday pasta with meatballs and red sauce. A lot of food is served and most people were taking some home. All lunch specials included the best house salad consisting of shredded carrots, beets and garbanzo beans with lettuce--a meal for me, or Wedding soup. Entrees we had were Sammy with Sunday Sauce--a huge serving of two large veal meatballs with fall-off-the-bone St. Louis style rib on Spaghetti with savory marinara. He took half home. We had the Scrod Piccata with sun dried risotto. It melted in our mouths. The scrod was lightly breaded and succulent. The risotto was soft and had good flavor. We took half home. Then, surprise! A slice of Cassata cake each was served. It was with strawberries...a perfect way to end the meal. Dinners include salad or soup, and Cassata cake, also. A nice wine list is offered.
