I walked in and was pleased with what little I'd seen of the women's section before going upstairs to look for his shoes. One season's worth of being in style seems about right. Clothes in the women's section popped and had we had more time, I believe I may have left a little bit of my pocketbook in there. The pieces that popped most for me were houndstooth jackets and black thigh high high heeled boots. Dangerous. Upstairs however I believe you have to have a certain style about you to enjoy the fashions here. If you like a man who's drown himself in cologne, could be seen in a club, and is.. more exotic (asian or something other than "white nerd") or an upscale rocker type, you'd be at home here. It's nice stuff that doesn't have too much of a douchebag vibe to it or the pricetag, but it's... dare I say just enough to be one step in that direction. Unfortunate for my dear nerd friend with the namesake of a measure of electricity, he was unable to find suitable shoes for his forray at BIL this weekend. Nonetheless we had an overall decent shopping experience, of which I may even consider again. Until the point that it pushes me over the deep end however though, this is only just ok. read more

*Just for perspective; my wife and I have shopped at Zara within the United States and in Europe for the past five years.* Today, I can officially state that if I don't get a formal apology from the supposed store manager, that I, nor my wife will ever shop at Zara again. I was in my class at General Assembly(coding school) when my pants ripped. NOTE (I was not doing anything that stretches my pants). I was literally sitting at my desk, working on some programming language (Angular Js for those interested). First, I felt stupid because my pants ripped but I figured that since I wasn't doing anything extensive, that I could just return my pants for another pair. I walked to the Third Street Zara location where I got the pants from. I waited in line and when I got called, I started explaining the situation to the cashier. The manager came out of nowhere while we were in the middle of our conversation and I started explaining to her what happened. She then asked if I had a receipt. Obviously, I didn't have a receipted because I didn't plan on the pants being defective and ripping out of nowhere. She then told me that I couldn't get a return because I didn't have a receipt and because the pants looked "worn." Let's logically think about what she said: I wouldn't have a receipt because I don't carry receipts for pants that I bought three weeks ago. To the next statement she told me. Of course the pants looked "worn". I wore the pants to school... *sigh* I then asked her if I could get a manager above her on the phone or in person, she told me that she was the head manager and that the only way to make a complaint is through email. I said that's fine and then asked for her specific name. She wrote it down on a card and guess what.... She wrote down TWO names. Why would she do that? Hmmm. I think it's because she doesn't want to get "busted" for handling a simple customer service request. I will take pictures and document both the card with her "name" and my pants as "worn" today so that you can all judge whether I am a crazy customer with irrational expectations or a regular customer who needed an exchange based on fair economic practices. read more

The first Zara I went to was in Mexico City - so much to buy, but being a college student at the time, my pocketbook was quite lean. I bought one blouse, which I still adore and wash by hand very gently so as to savor it a few more years. The Santa Monica store is the only one I've visited in the U.S. The clothes are cute, but lately their shoes have been pretty hideous. Sometimes their prices are reasonable, and other times a bit expensive, but never outrageously so. They have great blouses and suits...and on occasion the shoes. One thing I hate is that they can't do a stock check in their computer. And they basically give you a list of phone numbers on their brochure (half of which are wrong!) to do the leg-work yourself. Even then, they only know if it's in the store or not, not if they already got the piece and ran out, or if they will be getting more - and all stores don't receive the same merchandise at the same time. So, don't fall in love with anything that's not in your size in the store at the moment you're there. read more

Typically, I enjoy my shopping experiences at many Zara locations, with the exception of the Santa Monica 3rd St Promenade location. On June 15, 2022, the store manager Vanessa at this location was very unpleasant and her demeanor is absolutely unprofessional. On this particular occasion I purchased several items; however, one of the last two items on the shelf were priced incorrectly, I later found out after reviewing my receipt. The same second item did not have a price at all. The manager Vanessa, responded to the request as a manager's assistant was needed. After speaking to the associate, the manager implied that I removed the tag from a $29.00 item. Mind you, I had spent approximately $800.00 at Zara in a two day visit. She refused to allow me to purchase the second item at the posted price! The difference of $6.91. Go figure, I absolutely could not believe this. She argued her point and wanted to share with me the California law, as if I needed or requested legal representation, (I felted she was profiling me based on my ethnic; which is a form of discrimination). This location absolutely needs an immediate change in leadership. One of the employees, I believe name Aricia, appears to be more suitable for the management position. She was very professional and pleasant as I noticed her from a distance. read more

I like the clothes here even though it's overpriced. I say it's overpriced not because it's expensive, but because the material composition they used to make some/most of these clothes is really quite poor... I like shopping unbothered, so I don't mind that none of the employees are constantly asking me if they can help me with anything, although sometimes they do act like they are too busy to be bothered by questions. But ultimately I give this store only 2 stars because this place is always too crowded for the amount of space that's available and the clothes are always so tightly jammed together than you can never push one aside to fully look at an item without having to yank it off the rack. And what is up with the center escalator?? It takes up a third of the store! read more

This is one of my favorite men's retail store. Zara is spot on with it's fashion forward designs, it's beautiful European cuts, colors, texture, and style. It is incredibly hard to find affordable men's tailor fashion without breaking the bank or having to resort to Prada, Marc Jacobs or Hugo Boss for suits that fits like a glove. Zara's prices are extremely reasonable. For a budget of $300, you can score a nice suit that has the details and styling of a comparable designer suit that usually cost at least $1500. Think of Zara like an high end version of H&M mens. Service is excellent. Store is very clean. The women's selection is out of control. They have everything. So it's a great place to shop with your g/f or wifey. Cheers! read more

I started shopping online and going to the Century City location instead. Worst customer service. I waited in line 30 minutes to return shorts my daughter bought for camp using Apple Pay, but decided she didn't want. Even though I had the receipt and credit card used for the purchase, Zara would not refund the purchase without the device used for the purchase. When I was finally able to come back with my daughter, we again waited in line for at least thirty minutes. We were then told we were one day late and therefore could not get a refund without a manager override. The manager -- Joe -- refused to authorize the override. When I asked to speak to another manager, Joe said he was the only manager in the store, which was a lie. read more

The lines here for checkout are always at a minimum 45 minutes regardless of time or day. This particular store in SM has a very small selection compared to others in the LA area. Employees are always very unhelpful and rude about questions or assistance needed. read more

If I could use emoticon's in my yelp reviews, this one would have the smiley face with heart eyes! Zara you are a dream closet! I like the clothes and shoes, especially when they go on sale. It has more of a modern clean look paired with unique cuts and styles. I love Zara's, but unfortunately there isn't that many locations in Southern California. This location that is in the SM Promenade is three levels and has a fairly good selection. Only thing that can deter a customer is the snobby, don't really want to help you service. Came in last night with the intention of spending some serious money in the store. I came in around 8:30pm or so as I was in the area after work. I was dressed casually, though not trashy (designer jeans, v-neck, cardigan sweater, canvas shoes). I was greeted when I walked in, but as soon as I got upstairs I was GLARED at by an African-American employee (he had cool hair though, he kinda looked like Will.I.Am come to think of it). I mean, I could feel the death ray from his stare beaming into my neck. It made me very uncomfortable. Then, another male employee started glaring at me. What the heck? I was in there to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars, and this is the treatment I get? There was a guy in khaki shorts and a white t-shirt getting better service than I was (although ANY SERVICE would be better service). I immediately left the store and took my business elsewhere. It's saddening, because Zara is one of my favorite stores - I first discovered Zara when I was in Barcelona, on Las Ramblas, on vacation. In that store, sales associates bent over backwards to help me. Very disappointed. read more

Finally the girl who helped me had the biggest attitude and only asked me "what's your last 4" and when I asked "last 4 of what?" The selection is obvious not the best. But I want to point out another thing-dirt. They have 3 small hooks in a dressing room and no small chair where you can put your stuff. Basically, you are forced to put your bag and clothes, that doesn't have a hanger, on a floor. I'm perfectly fine with this one but only in case if floors were clean! I should have taken a photo of this dirt...it's just unacceptable. Just for my own information I checked all the cabins and unfortunately they are all dirty. Zara is one of my favorite places to shop. They offer chic, European styled clothing at an affordable price point. I picked up a few items including a great emerald green top on sale and some black pintucked slim fit trousers. I really loved this tweed/wool coat with leather sleeves and this grey and creme colored cape coat but ended up not picking it up. Layout of the store is easy to navigate. Store itself was clean, well kept for Black Friday weekend and had a great selection in all sizes readily available. Services here aren't as welcoming as the SF Westfield store (no greeting?) but it was close to closing hour so I'm sure they were over it at that point. read more

Spacious and multilevel, this really puts Costa Mesa's location to shame. Then again, they have a kid's department here. I'm thankful the sale section in the basement was plentiful, because I don't recall the prices being so much (especially shoes). It could also be just me. I scored a nice flowing cropped cardigan for $15. General store selection was excellent. Sometimes it's a little frustrating to not have a dedicated shoe section, but their layout encourages me to browse all corners. read more

Not exactly one of my favorite stores, although I can see the appeal to the clothes. I'm pretty sure most of the clothes here are not my style but I could see myself wearing something from this store. I noticed that they had some surprisingly stylish suits that were around the three to four hundred range. Made from all these strange places in the world that was not China. Women seem to really like shopping here, I noticed that around 3/4th of the shoppers were all women. I guess this place must rock for them, for men not as much. The prices they charge for some things is a little exorbitant, and I think this store fits the persona of a fashionable 30 something year old man...not too much for the younger man. read more

This Zara branch is better than the south cost one, it has the complete second floor of the building is the mens section and it has a good overall selection of casual and formalwear. I love the euro fitting cuts, usually a little slimmer, and some of their edgy styles. I think I still like the Pasadena location better, but this one is still great! read more

Their sales are amazing! 3 story Zara where the main and bottom floor are womens and top floor is for mens. Although it is slightly unorganized (which I can only assume it's due to the sale), the prices of the sales are ridiculously amazing. I really love this particular Zara store. I shop there if not every two weeks then lets say every three weeks ;-). The two girls in the dressing room are amazing and very helpful. They bring me different sizes and often suggest how to combine my outfits or they bring me shoes, belts which can compliment my look. The overall quality of the clothes could be improved, but in the end of the day I am just wearing them for one season, so I cannot be complaining. read more

SO FRUSTRATING to be treated like a criminal instead of a customer. Okay maybe criminal is too far lol- but liar may be more accurate? Wanted to check out with some items but panic when I realize I've forgotten my wallet in the car. But they take Apple Pay! Yay! But then, unfortunately, my Apple Pay doesn't work. So I ask to hold them while I run to my car and grab my wallet- they say NO! Are you kidding? "We don't do any holds." Okay... I say- but it's not really a hold I'm literally just going to grab my wallet? "Well, we would have to talk to a manager." They say. "GREAT! Let's call the manager then" {thinking hopefully they will see the obviousness of this situation} *clear hesitance and eyerolls between employees* as I wait several minutes, to no avail, for a manager to come- I give up due to the line behind me and not wanting to be rude and choose to purchase online. Horrible customer experience. Basically saying I'm lying that I'll be back immediately with my wallet. Use your judgement guys. A no hold policy for hours or days is one thing, but use your common sense to be flexible when need be. read more

My rating is for the online store. I wouldn't give it any stars but that's not an option. If you need something by a specific time, DO NOT order it from here. DETAILS: I ordered a xmas present for my niece, which the website indicated would be delivered the on December 23rd. The following day I got a notice from the store that it had been shipped but since it wasn't in the warehouse, it would arrive late. UPS sent an email that it would be delivered the 30th. Now if and when it shows up, I will need to drive to a Zara store and return it. Customer service couldn't do much. read more

Zara fits my gypsy-boho fashion sense essentials budget to a tee. Each time I go in there, I am struck by the fact that the styles are so unique and plentiful. I once saw a friend in a beautiful tunic top of printed silk and asked here when she got it, and she told me about Zara. I was so mad as I had passed that store on 3rd Street Promenade so many times without stopping! From cottons to woolens, to organics, I find things there somehow that work and at a good price. Their sales are amazing. Some quality issues, I have a coat that is wool that pills up a bit and may be unfixable, but it worked great for one season for $35 bucks! read more

Long lines, can't find anything in store and when I asked the front desk to see if something was in stock, they said they had it and it was in the stock room and someone would bring it right out. 20 minutes later still waiting and not even sure anyone in the stock room got the request. Prior to that asked two people on the floor if they could help me find the item I was looking for (with a photo and sky) and was directed to other people both times. I only gave this store one star because of the sweet girl at the front counter who actually called the stock room and finally went to go find them herself. Everyone has a walker talkie it either don't know how to use them or aren't listening... what should have been a quick trip in took45 minutes. No excuse for laziness or lack of willingness to help. read more
