This place was not the best. the service was lacking and slow, even though there were not many people seated. happy hour prices are okay, but the selection is very limited. quality of the food was honestly pretty bad...the chicken seemed not fresh, and the fries were very bland. they also do not give tap water and will charge for water bottles, even if you ask for tap water. bathroom could also use some cleaning. overall, this place could really improve in all aspects, and i probably will not be back to visit.

This is a lowkey go to spot in deep ellum. They have a good happy hour and strong drinks. Their hookah is $15 for happy hour which is cool. The staff is attentive and even changed the tv to show the mavs game.

. Zåtar is a beautiful spot in the heart of downtown Dallas with excellent food and a great atmosphere. However, the hookah lounge falls short of expectations. The equipment feels outdated, the flavors are weak, and the service in the lounge is slow--you often have to flag someone down for assistance. I'd definitely recommend coming here for the food, but would skip the hookah experience.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this spot. The decorations were nice and the music was definitely an R&B/Hiphop vibe. The customer service was really good. Our server and the hookah guy stopped by frequently to check on us and make sure we were good. I got the lavender lemon drop martini which was super delicious and my guys margarita was good too. The hookah flavor watermelon, peach, mint was good. The only downside of this place is that it gets really cold in the hookah side of the restaurant. The windows are not insulated and you could definitely feel it. The hookah sat between us did supply a little warmth though. I'd definitely go back. Edit: The management let me know that the cold weather hit them by surprise and since have set up space heaters to make sure guests are comfortable. This is awesome!

We were looking for a hookah spot and we ended up having the best meal ever. We were greeted by Chico who came up and told us we could seat anywhere. Of course, due to the weather, we sat next to open windows. Chico was extremely attentive. We ordered our hookah as well as our apps. The Spicy Hummas was the best we have ever had. I mentioned to Chico I wish the Pita was warmer and within 2 minutes he had the warmest, softest pita on the table. We also had tabbouleh which was so fresh and the parsley was not at all overpowering, the perfect balance. Ryan, our server came over and we had the best conversation. He gave us great recommendations on how to continue the night. My girlfriend wanted what she had order on uber eats before, and Chico mentioned that dish was only available to-go. But he made an exception... not only was the presentation stunning, but she said she would never order it on uber eats again. IT WAS THAT GREAT. Thank you Zatar, Chico, and Ryan. What a great night!

Love the staff here. Always a nice and relaxed vibe. The hookah HITS and is very affordable! The food is just ok, but it's good for small bites. The fries are bomb and most of the appetizers! Lavender lemon drop is my absolute favorite drink, so refreshing and delicious! Follow me for more! @MissMo2323

I was visiting Dallas, as I waited for my friend I decided to wait at Zåtar. The host was super welcoming and stored my luggage once I walked in. I arrived at 7pm, it was pretty calm not many people. I order mojitos, hookah and chicken wrap. Let me tell you, these mojitos were made to perfection! Perfect balance of each ingredient! I saw a few plates and completely regretted getting a chicken wrap lol but it was tasty! Staff were constantly checking in, which I appreciated! The music was such a vibe both days. Loved this place so much ended up coming back for hookah and drinks the next day.

What a hidden gym. I've lived in Dallas in entire life and was always curious about this place. I attended a Sunday afternoon with friends. The place is separated; one side hookah lounge/ the other side restaurant. We opted for the hookah lounge. I can't comment on hookah experience bc I did not partake. However the food and cocktails were delish. I had the Lebanese mixed grill with chicken and beef kabob. The tabouli was great and good overall was seasoned nicely. The service was subpar and the hummus lacked flavor. I'll be back to taste more menu items. The lavender lemon drop was also tasty

I'm so disappointed... the menu looked amazing! We had reservations, which once we arrived it was empty on the inside. The patio was packed. We were greeted and seated immediately. Then we sat........................ This is the biggest disappointment on service! We had earlier plans and we're starving. We waited.............. and waited....... Then walked out! I cannot understand why on earth restaurants do this? It's amazing to me that this even happens, especially in Deep Ellum we can walk to the next destination. Today businesses can't afford to lose customers. I won't give this place a second chance. Really wish they would have at least got us drinks. That would have made us stay about 15 mins past what we should have.

It's, well, umm, very average. It is a tourist area. The Sambousek was ok. Tabbouli was ok. Labneh was ok. Hummus was ok Chicken shawarma was ok. Fried cauliflower was ok. It was all ok.

Really nice spot to get hookah, listen to good music and have chill vibes! I didn't get any food here but it smelled really good and they have a full bar!! They was not crowded at all and the people were very attentive! And they had reallllly good hookah with free refills!!

Lamb hummus and fattoush salad. Amazing!

I always come here for a nice drink and some good hookah. But the food is pretty amazing as well. Who knew that a Mediterranean place would have such great wings and salmon?!! They also have really good lamb hummus. Servers are always nice and attentive as well.

I ordered the Chicken TAwook plate with fries and tabouleh. It was divine. I love that it came with garlic sauce. That's actually why I ordered it. I was impressed with how my fries remained crispy even though they didn't make any steam holes. The tabouleh was so fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. The star of my plate was of course the chicken; there was a lot of it. Large chunks that were perfectly grilled and they weren't dry. My husband ordered the Kafka Beef Plate with tabouleh and hummus. I hate that I had to remove a star but he said his hummus was "runny and watery". I was having too much fun with my food to investigate, but I'm going to take his word for it. I'm picky with hummus so I don't normally order it from random places. He'll learn someday. He also didn't like a spice that was in the Kafta. It was probably nutmeg or cumin or a combination of both. I also have learned my lesson with Mediterranean cuisine that I'm unfamiliar with. I don't like cinnamon or those pumpkin pie variety of spices in my meat so I never order anything that's beef or lamb. In their defense, I bet the meat was delicious if you like those spices. I wish they had included ketchup for my fries. I'd order from here again.

So you can imagine it was a pretty big group. The place was buzzing as usual. Turns out two other groups were also celebrating their birthdays there. What are the chances? Ambiance/Atmosphere Rating: 9.5 out of 10. What we tried: Lamb Shank Plate: tender, fall off the bone lamb, with rice that is so tasty that you can just eat the rice by itself. I don't even like rice like that; it's not one of my favorite carbs. The Lamb had a very mild flavor. 9.5 out of 10 for me. Chicken Kebob Plate: normally I wouldn't order chicken kebob as I feel that it can get a bit dry, but not at this restaurant. Tbh, most Iranian kebabs are very juicy and flavorful, and this was the same. Another 9.5 for me. Overall Food Rating: 9.5 out of 10. Customer service was excellent. They were very patient with our large group. Didn't even roll their eyes when we requested them to take our pictures . They showed extreme patience with us from the beginning till the end. Fortunately, they had some space on the patio. It was a hot night however they had couple fans to blow away some heat. Food: Started with a salad which was fresh, flavorful and with large chunks of beets, watermelon, and feta cheese. Great appetizer. My wife and I wanted to try a couple of items to share for the main entree, I had branzino. The whole fish, filleted, and grilled. The flavor was rich, without being overly salty nor too oily. The sides 1. Grilled Branzino - Served with quinoa arugula salad 2. Ali Nazik- Chargrilled lamb shish over smoked eggplant puree served with bean salad on the side Both were fantastic. The lamb was cooked just right and turned out moist and tender. The eggplant puree was a great texture; neither too smooth to lose its integrity nor too chunky. The staff was attentive and helpful. Verdict: 9/10: Would definitely go back but with a reservation or in a mindset to sit in the heat on the patio. Also, the deboning process for the fish could've used a little more care, but that didn't take away from the flavor.

Our usual move is the 4-person combo for the family, or the Iraqi-style meal that comes with that MASSIVE Iraqi bread -- seriously, the bread deserves its own table. In my opinion, Fattoush is easily one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in all of North Texas. Recently, they added pizza to the menu, and we usually get the chicken + beef shawarma combo pizza. But today... fate intervened. They didn't have our usual meats available, so I asked the server, "Can you substitute the meat with lamb kebab?" And OH. MY. GOODNESS. LAMB. KEBAB. PIZZA. This may legitimately be the best thing I've eaten here in four years -- and that is saying A LOT. Add some fresh white onion and a little of their garlic sauce, and it is absolutely MAGNIFICENT. Technically, it's off-menu and there's an extra charge for the lamb, which I was more than happy to pay. Zero regrets. Fattoush, PLEASE make this a permanent menu item. Also, my name is Jay, so if you want to call it "The Jay Special," I'm completely fine with that. No royalties necessary. We were quickly seated and our orders were taken. For our party of three, we opted for the Combo for Two family meal as well as the Maza Large. The latter was brought out first. It include the falafel, tabooli, hummus, baba ghanoush, and some pita bread. My favorite out of these was definitely the falafel. After not too long of a wait, the meal for the combo came out. The meats, lamb and chicken, were without a doubt juicy and flavorful. Went well with the rice (which I do wish came more with the order). However, the highlight of the night for me was actually the chicken lemon soup. This is my first time ever having it. My first thought was that it would be too lemon-forward. That was certainly not the case. It was still savory and subtly fragrant with lemon instead. Despite all of the food being above average to very tasty as well as the service being superb, the one thing that detracted from the night for me was the breeze every single time the door opened. The weather was particularly cold and windy that day. We weren't the closest to the door but every time someone came in or out, there was a noticeable breeze. I feel that this could have been mitigated if there was a panel that could shield customers from the breeze on these certain days. Regardless, I would still come back for some delicious mediterranean food!
