Finally arriving in Dallas after a long morning filled with travel and I was able to time Uber Eats perfectly to arrive with delicious food to my hotel. I ordered the Chicken TAwook plate with fries and tabouleh. It was divine. I love that it came with garlic sauce. That's actually why I ordered it. I was impressed with how my fries remained crispy even though they didn't make any steam holes. The tabouleh was so fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. The star of my plate was of course the chicken; there was a lot of it. Large chunks that were perfectly grilled and they weren't dry. My husband ordered the Kafka Beef Plate with tabouleh and hummus. I hate that I had to remove a star but he said his hummus was "runny and watery". I was having too much fun with my food to investigate, but I'm going to take his word for it. I'm picky with hummus so I don't normally order it from random places. He'll learn someday. He also didn't like a spice that was in the Kafta. It was probably nutmeg or cumin or a combination of both. I also have learned my lesson with Mediterranean cuisine that I'm unfamiliar with. I don't like cinnamon or those pumpkin pie variety of spices in my meat so I never order anything that's beef or lamb. In their defense, I bet the meat was delicious if you like those spices. Swung by to pickup takeout. Staff was friendly and the inside was pretty small but still enough for 8-10 tables. I went with a chicken schwarma plate, a half lamb/half beef plate (it was all beef and no lamb) and a side order of falafel. I thought the chicken was pretty solid, decent portions, flavors were good and the protein was fresh. I got both plates with a side of rice, hummus and babaganoush. The hummus and babaganoush were both solid, the rice was ok. Falafel was good as well. Wish I could've tried the lamb but a pretty good option for food nonetheless. read more

This unassuming shopping strip is the home of Open Sesame. The staff is inviting and the decor is cute. Babagunush (I can't spell) was good and came with pita bread and a plate of olives, pickled orca and beats. Chicken shawarma was well cooked and the rice was flavorful. I really liked the fattoush, the crispy pita chips were a great complement in terms of texture, and the fries were surprisingly so crispy and nice especially with the garlic sauce. The shawarma was tender, moist and seasoned well and good with the rice. Complementary pita bread too. For dessert, we got knafeh and it was amazing (to me as a newcomer). However, the server was kind enough to let me order it to go on my second visit. We also had the tabouleh salad. I recommend eating here. Late Sunday afternoon found me and my mom on a mission for tasty Middle Eastern food. And, Open Sesame delivered, big time! This place is easy to miss and the exterior is low-key--so keep an eye out. The inside is casual with faux grass on the ceiling and walls, nothing too fancy, but it works. We started with hummus, crispy falafel, and lentil soup and from the first bite, we were impressed. For the main meal, I ordered a Mixed Grill Plate that came with beef shish kabab, chicken tawook, and kafta over rice. You can choose two sides for an additional up-charge (we didn't), but it's a nice option to have. The meal also came with complimentary olives, pickled veggies, and pita...all of which were very yummy. I'm not usually a rice gal (unless it's sushi), and I almost always sub it out for salad, but the server kindly advised keeping it "as is". I'm glad I did--the rice was fragrant, and absolutely delicious. Also, service was friendly, and the price point was a great value for the quality. Simple and delicious! I ordered the Ultimate Mixed Grill to share with my boyfriend. They start you off with pita and oil/seasonings and then brought out the baba ghanoush and hummus for us to start dipping before the mains came out. Overall everything was super fresh and flavorful. I was very impressed with the chicken and kafta especially, but all the meats were well seasoned and tender! The tabouleh and fatoush were completely new to me, so it was nice to try new flavors for the first time in this mixed platter. It also comes with a garlic sauce on the side. My only wish was that there was more rice for both of us-- it might be better to have a bowl of rice on the side so it's easier to grab a bit of everything. I was the only person at the bar waiting for service. 2 servers came to the bar and never acknowledged me or even asked if I needed assistance. They were busy so I didn't complain. 10 minutes later, a gentleman walked up to the bar and both servers looked up and asked what he needed. I guess they decided to stop serving black women. Parking was also find but I can imagine that it could get crowded during peak hours. We went for a late lunch so there was no problem. The restaurant was almost empty. We started with Kibbi, which are fried balls filled with seasoned meat, which come with a mint sauce. They were good and I would get them again. We shared the mixed grill ($18) which is enough for two people. It came with shish tawook (marinated and grilled chicken), beef kabob (I think it was filet because it was very tender), and one kofta. We each picked a side, me: hummus, friend: tabouli. it comes with rice and pita. I liked everything except the tabouli, which was gritty as if the parsley had not been washed well. Other than that, the proteins were all flavorful and well prepared, The hummus was not the best I had but it was not bad and more than adequate. The pita is thinner than usual but still useful as a vessel to pick up hummus and meats. The service was fine. Our waitress was not intrusive but was available when needed. Great food that many have told me is authentic Lebanese. The portion sizes are perfect if you're hungry or to share if you have a smaller appetite. The lamb kebab came out a perfect mix of juicy and tender while not being overcooked and tough. The hummus and baba ganoush are perfectly seasoned and go so well with the basket of pita they bring with each order. The parking can get a bit dicey if it's busy since they share a small lot with several other establishments. There is some street parking nearby but you might have to walk a couple blocks. We ordered two bottles of the red blends and drank every drop. The entree course came and went and every plate was cleared. My sister in law and I shared the chicken shawarma.
