I decided to try this restaurant because of its excellent online reviews, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. We were seated promptly, but there were no clean high chairs available, so we had to wait a few minutes while one was cleaned. That wasn't a big deal. After about 10 minutes, our server finally came over to take our drink and food order. From there, things went downhill. We waited around 30 minutes without our server checking on us once, while tables that were seated after us began receiving their food. After about 45 minutes, we decided to ask for our order to be packed to go. That's when we found out our original server had already left without handing our table off to another employee. Our order had been entered into the system but was never brought out, and no one noticed. What made the experience even more frustrating was that there were several employees standing around at the front and only a couple of other tables in the restaurant. It was surprising that no one realized we'd been sitting there without food or service for so long. I was genuinely excited to try this highly rated restaurant, but instead I ended up wasting an hour and a half. No one attempted to make things right or offered any apology beyond explaining what happened. I would also encourage the staff to be mindful of communication when interacting with customers. If a customer asks a question, it's best to answer them directly in a language they understand. Speaking among yourselves in another language during a service issue can easily create the impression that you're talking about the customer, even if that's not the intent. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this restaurant. I hope they improve their customer service because the food may be good, but the service needs significant attention read more

This review is for takeout only. I tried a few of my favorites for takeout; Spicy Ezme and lamb shish. The Ezme was delicious and very fresh but takeout did not include table bread that you usually use to dip in the Ezme. The way it was provided, the only way to eat it is with a spoon, I guess, like a cold soup. The lamb shish was not as tender, and the bread was tough and chewy. Very hard to chew. Ordering lamb shish in the restaurant was a completely different and much more delicious experience; especially when the bread is fresh and hot. The cheese pide was delicious. The cheese was flavorful, and the bread was flavorful and tender. I would order it again. Dessert was the best thing we ordered. The Apple baklava is just amazing and I can't recommend it enough. Although I seemed to remember when I had this at the restaurant, it came with a scoop of ice cream, which is not probably feasible for to go. I guess the bottom line is I will look forward to when I return to Selda restaurant, but it's unlikely I will order takeout again given this experience. read more

What a gem! I only just discovered this lovely place. Went for lunch with a good friend. We shared the chicken shish (cokes with rice and bean salad, we subbed beet salad for bean) and beet salad. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Rice was white and I don't think had any added flavors. The beet salad was especially good. Greens and roasted beets with cubes of feta. Dressing was good and not too much. Really delicious! I highly recommend. Super nice staff and lovely, clean restaurant. They have a nice patio also. Have not tried the desserts yet, but they look absolutely divine! I look forward to to going back trying more things. read more

Traditionally huge fan of Selda. Everyone is really nice, great customer service although service can be a bit slow at times, and amazing food. The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor patio which are both beautifully designed. They usually bring complimentary bread and a sort of sour cream cheese which is truly amazing. I got their soup and Urfa Kebob that comes with rice as well as side bean salad. The flavors are just amazing. For dessert I got tea and tried out their Bakhlava as well as cake. The cake and the bakhlava were a bit sweet for me but it also tasted amazing. Overall great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant and its location. read more

Such a cute place. The patio is fun and charming, a great date night spot. I ordered the lamb shank and it was so tender it fell off the bone. The bean salad is fresh and flavorful. The complimentary pita bread is. Try a pide, we got the meat one. Our server was very nice and service overall was fast. Didn't wait long for our food. Delicious food and a bright and cozy atmosphere. I ordered the lahmacun and spicy ezme, and had the knafeh for dessert. It was my first time having the lahmacun and to say it's a Mediterranean pizza is really an injustice. It looks like one but there's no cheese, and the dough is actually thinner and not as crispy but it's absolutely scrumptious. It's topped with a tiny salad of tomato, onions, parsley and perhaps sumac, but I had to add a bit of salt to that. The service was great and a bit uneven as it got busier, but they were friendly and helpful. I did make a reservation, which is recommended. read more

My friend recommended this Turkish restaurant and we decided to give it a try since we had to make a trip to the downtown area. They had outdoor seating available and it was a beautiful cool day so we asked to sit outside. I wanted to get their fried cauliflower since it seemed really good and popular but they were unfortunately already sold out for the day. We decided on getting the saksuka instead since I wanted an eggplant dip. They later brought out some complimentary bread, a yogurt like dip, and the saksuka. I didn't realize that the saksuka was a cold dip and not a warm or roasted one, but we both still enjoyed it. It had peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant in an oil and marinara sauce. Still would've preferred a heated one though. Next came the spinach cheese pide, which my friend recommended. Honestly, this was probably my favorite dish that we got. This is a Turkish pizza stuffed with sautéed onion, spinach, and feta cheese. Each piece was so so good. My friend got the chicken shish and really enjoyed it. I got the lamb chops since it was their most popular dish. I honestly thought it was going to be bigger because it seemed that way in the pictures I saw online. We brought our buddy from Saudi here and he said the Kunefe was better than he got at home (hint: order and split it no less than four ways since it's such a wonderful but heavy dessert). The patio is well-designed and inviting but I was unfortunately seated in the corner facing the neighboring 7-11 and its small homeless encampment that was set up along the building. For those who are bothered by that be mindful of seating. The view aside, the meal was fantastic. We started with grape leaf-wrapped salmon as well as the spicy ezme. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the ezme was addicting. I ate it with the table bread/naan, as well as my entree. Just phenomenal. I had the fried cauliflower and the Bronzino. The fried cauliflower was so delicious. I can definitely see myself coming back for more. You can't go wrong with Branzino and that's why I chose the meal. The Bronzino was good too. I did have to pick a few bones out of that signature of eating whole fish. The decor was very cute and the ambience was very relaxing. You could tell that this was a family based restaurant you could tell the people who go our frequent eaters. This was my second visit here. I made reservations by ending them from their website for 5 pm on Thursday night and we were sat right down. The servers were quick to bring our food and friendly but when we were done we were sitting for at least 5 min looking around trying to make eye contact with someone. They weren't busy and there were plenty of folks around. I prefer the mayors house in bishop arts but this place is great too if you're on the north side of town. Highly recommend. I have gotten the lamb chops every time and they are so good! (Here and the mayors house) the beef shish was new to me. I didn't love it but my son said it was really good. The halloumi was good. I had it at the mayors house and thought it would be the same but it wasn't. Both were delish. The salmon in grape leaves was just ok. Glad to try it but wouldn't order again. The kunefe for dessert was so yummy! The small is definitely big enough for 3-4 people to share, esp after a big meal. Make sure you order it early or be prepared to wait a bit for it to be prepared. read more

How many times do you go to a restaurant and every time you have a fantastic experience? Each time at Selda we have tried a different appetizer and entree. Every meal has been exceptionally good. Staff members are kind and desire to serve. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with tasteful decorations. Great vibe - and you can have a conversation because it's not too noisy. It's been awhile since I've been to a restaurant where I was just dying to review the place until I came here last weekend. We wanted Mediterranean food but something a little more than your typical fast, casual dining and saw Selda on Yelp and decided to go there for dinner one night. It was so good that I ordered delivery from them a couple days later. Everything we had here was just phenomenal. I'd say it's a great place to take friends so you can all share the different apps, salads and shareable plates. It was a bit loud to have a quiet date night, but my boyfriend and I still had a fabulous time. Service was extremely quick for as busy as they were and we were surprised. We ordered the halloumi cheese, cigar borek, lamb shank and the lamb chops. So essentially two different cheese apps and two different lamb entrees and yet no regrets. The lamb was so tender and definitely something I would highly recommend. Even the bean salad that accompanied the lamb was so fresh and tasty. The halloumi is a must get! It's lightly fried and on top of roasted pepper, walnut and topped with pomegranate molasses. I mean, come on! Absolutely amazing meal that got me pumped to come back to try more of the small bites. Two days later, I ordered Uber eats and had the grilled eggplant salad, saksuka, and the chicken kabobs. Again, everything was so delicious and devoured. I'd say I rarely ordered chicken kabobs since white meat tends to dry out so easily, but based on our previous experience, I'd knew they would knock it out of the park, which they did.
