POOR WORK. DAMAGED MY CAR DOOR. DON'T COME HERE . Attaching photos and videos of their poor work. I was recommended by a friend to come to this shop to replace my front passenger window after someone smashed it. I made an appointment with the shop because they didn't have my window in stock and have to wait for it to come in. I dropped it off on the appointment date and they told me it would be done in two hours. 3 hours passed and I call them back and the they told me the window they had in stock chipped and so they had to wait for another one to come in. I had to wait a total of 4 hours for the repair. And the story wasn't adding up because how were they able to get my window if they had to preorder it prior to me coming in. I'm pretty sure that was when they damaged my door. When I went home I noticed there was a huge gap between the door and the panel so I took it back so they could screw it back in. About a couple weeks later I noticed there were actual dents protruding outward from my car door. And they were the only ones that touched my car, and the damage is on the same door as the repairs. I've spoken to 3 different shops and they all said I would have the repaint it after repairing the dents. So I spoke to the shop and they tried telling me I hit a pothole and I'm the one that damaged my car. This type of damage comes from the inside not outside. Louie refused to take accountability and only offered to use dent pro to try and fix the dent when 3 other shops told me it had to be repainted. In honestly very disappointed this is the type of business they are. Just shady people trying to make a quick buck off you. And right off the bat they will try to BS and blame you for the damage instead of trying to fix their mistakes. read more

Yes and I paid $185 extra for the rust remediation. Technically safelite says they can't even legally install windshield with rust. Not only that you see our exchange and I had to bring it back to the shop multiple times because of bad workman ship. I just got my glass replaced by safelite and they documented the entire installation and glass. Few things they noted - the windshield was very poor quality version Second the installation didn't even install it correctly so the windshield wiper sensor worked Third the windshield was leaking this entire time not because of rust but because the windshield was completely offset and there was a big hole left when you all installed it on the driver side top! TLC replaced the windshield on my 2021 Jeep Wrangler. But they didn't clarify they'd use cheap aftermarket glass. And they used the wrong part, so the gradient was missing where the adaptive cruise control should go -- a feature my car doesn't have. About 6 months later, the new glass got a chip in it, which expanded to a full crack over the next year. Who knows if this also would have happened with OEM glass. So now I am replacing it again at a dealership that proactively let me pick what glass to use, and suggested OEM, which I appreciate -- make it like new! read more

I was in and out in less than 2 hours and got the window replaced with a not original piece. Great location too right by Costco at a corner. Owner is very friendly, responsive, and has great energy! Update: they also fix window regulators. Actually you have to replace these. They gave me the option to get a used one which was a couple hundred dollars cheaper. But it was still expensive. The total came out to almost $600 for a used regulator plus labor/installment. read more

Had a great experience at TLC Glass Repair Shop today. I imagine TLC means "tender loving care" haha because they really took care of me and my car window that was sadly broken from a smash and grab! They were very flexible with my schedule and got it done in the quoted time. I'm hope I don't butcher the names but Louie and Carina were super nice on the phone and in person. Beware this shop does not do professional work and they are dishonest. I went to TLC Glass for a replacement window after my back window was shattered. The first window they installed was an OEM Subaru Window for $317. After leaving the shop, I noticed scratches on the replaced window and contacted the shop. The woman I spoke to never apologized and only told me that the window they installed was the only window in the shop and they would need to order a replacement. The way she responded leaves me to believe that they knew it was scratched and didn't bother mentioning it to me. The next replacement window was a cheap aftermarket window made by Fuyao. Communication was poor and they never mentioned this after the first window being OEM. After installation, I inspected the glass for any scratches and didn't see any. I did notice a slight difference in the tint color from the OEM window. A few days after, I looked at the window and caught it from the side and noticed a wavy/ripple distortion across the entire window not noticeable when looking directly at it. From what I can find on the internet, these are not normal and indicative of defective glass from the factory. It's upsetting that TLC doesn't inspect their glass before installation and maintain a quality standard for its customers. After the hours I wasted leaving my car at TLC and not once by twice leaving with a defective window, I'm done with them for good. You get what you pay for. I paid for my education and will go to the dealership for a professional replacement and install. I highly recommend you avoid this shop and go somewhere else or you risk having the same experience I did. read more

I called TLC Glass for a quote to replace a broken window on my car. With the rampant amount of break-ins in the area, I'm not even surprised to pay their shop a visit. Louie was the person who picked up the phone and he was very helpful in providing me with options to replace my broken window from a recent break-in on my car. Louie was very honest and detailed in discussing my options. He didn't pressure me to have the work done at his shop. He educated me well based on his past experiences with his clients. For the most part they have aftermarket glass in stock, but they also have OEM and used glass available upon request. If you go the OEM route they will have to order the glass and often time isn't worth paying extra unless the car is brand new within 1-2 years old. Although I was about to move forward with Louie's services, my insurance adjuster only gave me 2 options with a check cut at the fair market rate at a shop of my choice or Safelite which is fully covered. Don't quote me on this, as it really depends on the adjuster at your insurance company, your mileage may vary. In my case with my insurance we didn't even get close to discussing OEM as an option. I would definitely bring them my business in the future if I were to replace my auto glass or tint my windows especially with Louie's expertise and experience. Thank you again Louie! read more

I own San Francisco Scooter Centre and the windshield on our shop truck cracked. I called my trusty insurance company. They promptly paid up $300 and sent a glass guy right over. Problem was he wouldn't install a windshield due to rust on the frame of my car. Insurance declined to pay more saying rust is a maintenance problem and not covered. So I want to a body shop and got a $4000 est. seemed a little high. The body shop referred me to TLC glass. I drove over and they inspected my truck and said no worries will be done in few hour. They called back and said they found a lot more rust and provided a boat load of pictures. I thought my ship had sunk. But the est went up by a couple of hundred dollars. The best glass shop in SF - I have come here twice now, they've been super quick to obtain the glass, work with my insurance and always do top notch repair work. Both times were for the windshield which is much harder to replace than the side windows and it comes out looking brand new and clean. Never any issues. They also can help with the recalibration of the cruise control or pilot assist on vehicles which is a huge plus. They always pick up their phone and are quick with updates which is rare - I don't have to call them to bug them, they proactively reach out. Cannot recommend them enough! Louie is the man. I had a cheaper 5% dyed film on my Audi A4 which was starting to bubble and he fixed it to ceramic 35% in a few hours. They have a nice display showing what the different tints look like at the office. Its so much easier to drive at night and it comes with a lifetime warranty. I was referred to TLC Glass because they are willing to fix your auto glass needs at your location. They have no problem driving all over the Bay. My rear passenger side window got broken into at a Cal Train Station (Tamien) on a Friday evening so of course no Auto place is open. I called them at 7pm and they set me up an appointment between 11-1pm Saturday while I was hosting a Bridal Shower in Alameda. But my friend used them in Sunnyvale so really they'll drive anywhere. They showed up kind of late and took about an hour to fix everything but it was very convenient to not have to wait around at a shop.
