I've trusted California Detailing to beautify and protect four cars and three motorcycles for my family since our first experience with them in 2022. Most of the jobs were for full PPF + ceramic coating of new vehicles, but they've also performed a couple of non-PPF paint correction, detailing, and ceramic coating work on well-used vehicles not eligible for PPF. In all cases, California Detailing produced fantastic results that made the new cars look better than they were at dealer delivery and the well-used vehicles look as close to new as possible. For vehicles that we've subsequently sold, California Detailing's attentive work helped protect their resale value. Even when we don't have big jobs pending, we drop by their shop a few times a year for installation inspections and touch-ups (no charge during PPF or ceramic coating warranty period). Great communication and great service from Carlos and the team. I messaged ahead through Yelp, and the team communicated with me through the app and over text-- very responsive and clear. I came in with a big problem-- my niece vomited up a fish sandwich in the back seat, leaving stains and an odor that lingered after my best efforts to clean it up. Carlos was very honest and upfront with me-- the fish/vomit combo is among the hardest smells to remedy, so he could make a best effort but could not guarantee the result. He did not in any way pressure me or attempt to oversell what he could accomplish. He executed a repeated deep treatment and extraction process plus full interior detail, and I picked the car up the next day to find it in better condition than it has been since it came off the lot. And the offending lingering odor and stains are completely gone! I'm very happy with the price paid for the value of the service I received. My last review was 18 years ago for California Detailing. I gave them four out of five stars because at the time it felt very expensive to pay $400 to detail a Honda Civic. Well... It's 18 years later and I paid almost $1000 to completely polish and bring back to nearly new looking interior and exterior on a black 2002 Mercedes S class to life. It is amazing and I have even gotten random people on the street giving me thumbs up and whistles. Honestly I feel like I got a pretty decent deal considering the car was in much worse shape than the Civic, it is a massive vehicle, it's 18 years of inflation and I have more disposable income. Got all 3 of our cars ceramic coated here, and they did a fantastic job. Our cars all looked so great right after the coating, and every time we wash our cars, they all look amazing still. This place was very professional, efficient (took maybe 2 days each max), and gave us a tiny discount when we misunderstood the pricing. It was expensive, but it will last a long time. I did not go to Burning Man this year. I went in 2024 and had my car detailed here after, in November 2024, when they were supposed to have done the exterior, engine, and under carriage for a staggering $1500. Today, 10 months later, my mechanic sent my photos "showing the salt bed / playa dust that is still present everywhere under the van. They did a full car PPF and Ceramic Coating on my 2022 Porsche 911 S here. They removed a partial PPF install since it was damaged on a road trip. I also had them remove my stone guards by rear wheels. They did the whole car. The work is quality work and completed in a reasonable timeline. I've know Carlos at California Detailing for years and keep on coming back to him and Jim because they are simply the best. My recently acquired BMW Z3 2.5i Roadster/Convertible was in serious need of a complete interior detailing, including steam cleaning the carpets and conditioning the leather seats and surfaces. My car also had a cloudy rear plastic convertible window, dirty tonneau cover, scratched plastic headlight lens covers, and hairline scratches on the right side of the hood, courtesy of a curious stray cat. Expecting to only have an initial consultation with Carlos, I dropped by without an appointment and was very happy that he was able to take my Z3 into the shop the same morning. My car was ready the next day, a little after noon. What a difference! I couldn't believe the great work California Detailing did on the rear plastic window. Much better then I had anticipated. We were in an unexpected situation as paint was thrown onto our vehicle in the early morning commute. After checking YELP, we came across CA Detail and Jim responded to our call right away. We explained our predicament and he said he could help as he has handled similar issues. In fact an earlier model of our vehicle was in his shop for a similar situation which reassured us that we chose the right shop for our needs. We got a reasonable quote considering the amount of labor that will and was involved to meticulously remove the paint and restore the vehicle. In a matter of a few days, over a holiday weekend, the vehicle was returned back to us in a shape that looked better than new. We were happily surprised and delighted with the results. Shop was clean, staff was friendly, work was exceptional, customer service was friendly and responsive, pricing was more than fair considering the results. Jim was really friendly and took me through the shop to view some of the ongoing / completed work. It all looked top-notch. I had them ceramic coat my truck around the 2 year mark of owning it from new. Came out beautiful and the coating has held up well. At that time I also asked about detailing it. The car leaks as it's 60 years old, and California Detailing does a dry detail without getting the car wet - brilliant! WOW!! I literally squealed when I saw may baby (aka: some call a car or 1999 saab). Purchased the car used fell in love with it but the paint was battered. The expense felt like a risk but seeing the results now feels like a relief. I had to paint the hood and front bumper. After it looked drastically different. They are AMAZING! We have a 2002 bmw wagon we inherited 6 years ago that was always lovingly maintained by the prior owner but was starting to show signs of age - paint swirls, scratches, water spots, the leather interior needing tlc, etc. I brought our car in for an estimate and spoke with Carlos who was very knowledgeable and thorough. He didnt try to upsell me on anything but gave me a rundown of what they'd be able to do and a reasonable expectation. We brought our car back in first thing on a Friday morning and were able to pick it up the same evening. HOLY COW what a difference! The paint is sooo smooth, glossy, no more swirls or lines, many of the marks/scratches from years of daily driving were gone. Obvisouly we knew they couldnt fix some things (rock chips, etc) but they are far less noticeable now. The interior looks brand new! We were more than impressed when we got our car back. It looked decent before but now it looks like it should be on the showroom floor. They also gave us a recommendation of where to go to fix our headliner which is starting to sag a little. Are they cheap? To us, no (but that's subjective). But in relation to the work they did, I'd say the price was definitely reasonable and 1000% worth it. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I have a 2008 BMW that unfortunately with all the rain leaked and a LOT of water got into my car. Like a 2-3 inch deep puddle. I got the actual leak fixed and diagnosed elsewhere, but needed it to be professionally deep cleaned and dried after. I reached out to Jim by text and heard back within an hour. Had some wall paint transfer over to the front left bumper due to a scrape. Carlos took me in the same day I called and fixed the issue within an hour. He was very honest with me and said he'd do what he can to remove the paint. If there were deep scratches, he suggested he'd recommend someone who professionalizes in fixing that.
