WORST ZAXBYS EVER! We stopped there at 6pm on Monday June 24th after leaving swim park. The woman at counter couldn't smile & really wasn't listening. There was almost no one in the place. There was ABSOLUTELY NO ICE in the building on a 95° day. They were out of at least 75% of the flavors in the coke machine & the fries were COLD! This was the worst excuse for a restaurant that I'd ever seen. My son used to work for a Zaxbys & said he would have been fired for conducting business like this. I couldn't believe it. One of the better Zaxby's I've been to. The chicken tenders were blazing hot in the middle, cooked to a golden crisp on the outside and served with hot, well cooked fries. This isn't always the case at this chain, as many of served cold. Meanwhile, this location delivered great service, hot food and smile across the board. For chicken tenders, it's a great place to stop for a quick bite coming out of Jekyll and St Simons Island. read more

The employees that work in this location were very rude and not friendly when we stopped. However the food was correct and good

When I tried to order, the tan male with the curly hair was so high and wouldn't let me finish my order. They gave me the completely wrong order and when I went back in the drive through line to ask for the correct order that was paid for, the African American female with the green wildcats hoodie cussed at me from the window. Their customer service is usually disappointing but this was a new low. read more

This has to be the worst Zaxby's. The staff has no clue what they are doing and they show they could care less if they get your order right. Managers and staff need to be trained on customer service. Worst Zaxby's we have ever been to! I should've read the reviews first! Where do I begin? Restrooms were disgusting, as was the entire restaurant. Overflowing trashcans into the floor, no clean tables, dining area floor was filthy and no one working the dining room. The drink area was equally as dirty and tea was terrible. There are two entrances, neither of these doors would close unless you pushed the door handle and forcefully pulled the door shut. It's 34 degrees today, so I asked a worker if she could get the doors to close and she said no, because then they would lock. Sure enough, we had to get up from our meal a few times to let people into the restaurant because the doors were locked. Very long wait for food. It took us 40 minutes to get our food. The bathrooms were dirty, the floor was sticky all over. I felt like I needed to wash of my shoes after eating here. There was only one person at the counter to take orders and serve and one person at the drive through. This was far from fast food. Once we got our food the food was as expected but it was just a really long wait! Busy location but understaffed. Hand's down the worst Zaxby's we have ever been to. Men's bathroom was flooded and disgusting. Women's bathroom was disgusting and out of paper towels. We waited almost 15 minutes for a Kid's Meal and Chicken Sandwich. The cashier area was a total cluster. Got the food to go, and got in the car- of course the kid's meal was missing the drink. This franchise is an embarrassment to the Zaxby's name! Toast was not toasted- just bread with melted butter on it so it was soggy. Food was gross on top of the conditions of the restaurant. It will be a while before I can get this experience out of my head in order to return to Zaxby's and enjoy. read more

Our food was sitting in the window ready and they kept handing orders that came out after ours. When we asked about the food they had an attitude. Never been to a Zaxbys before because they are not near me. It's fried chicken. Employees were helpful and efficient didn't seem upset about people coming in 30 minutes before closing. Which by the way closing at 11p love it. Service time was average; childs meal and 2 aps took 10 mins not a big deal since their drive thru line was long and I went inside. read more

I've been eating at Zaxby's since they opened the first one at GSU. Most of them are great, but this one needs to improve on a few things. For one, the cleanliness of the dining area has been sub standard on several of my visits. The service is usually friendly, but can be slow at times. The food is ok, but can be a little greasy. Overall, they are a good option in that area but could be a lot better. read more

NOW I read the Yelp reviews.....dumb me not looking at the past reviews.....This is absolutely the worst Zaxby's I have ever been too. Furthermore, it's the worst semi fast food chain experience I have experienced. The disgusting looks in the waiting customers should have stirred my interest. However, I was the only one in line when I entered the restaurant, so this cannot be this bad. 10 minutes ......No food, little hiccup, no problem. Nope 33 minutes I received my substandard food(burnt toast and cold fries). During that time I witness a manager meltdown with the customers. I saw several refunds due to long waits. And sadly I watched the construction workers that patiently waited not get to enjoy their food due to running out of time....Ownership and corporate leadership in Athens can review my comments and the past comments and take action. The truth is painful. The Zaxby brand does not deserve the experience today or from past Yelpers....please avoid unless you have nothing but time, and enjoy blah food. read more

I appreciate being greeted so good job on that. Also someone came around and picked up trays so that was nice. But no ice, broken/empty ketchup is really annoying. Food here was OK, chicken was hot but fries were cold and bread was dry. Came in at 9:15 and the manager already had her coat on, the tea had already been put up and the soda machine was out of most of the drinks. We waited forever for our food, then were handed it in to go bags (probably hoping we would leave). Took my son to the bathroom and employee unlocked the door on us while using it because she was in such a hurry to get in to clean I guess. Manager locked the doors at 9:45, couldn't get a refill on my soda because machine was turned off. On a road trip and waited for over 50 min with other customers for food, never have had a problem with any other zaxbys and this one was not clean management didn't seem to care and was not in any rush to help Expedite any customers order. Disappointed is a good word for this Zaxby's. We placed our order at 12:52; we ordered the $5.99 chicken bite special. We received our order at 1:04; 12 minute wait and we got lukewarm chicken. I figured it would have been piping hot after such a long wait. The temperature however was not the biggest problem. The chicken bites should have been called chicken bits. I literally took a quarter and could cover up each bite or bit. A 12 minute wait to get 5 smaller than a quarter, lukewarm bits of chicken for $5.99. read more

Was in the drive thru for 30 minutes waiting on our dinner last night. He finally handed us the bag of food and said have a good night. We then had to ask for our drinks and the extra sauce that we paid for and also had another order that he didn't give to us so he told us to pull up and they would bring it out to us. awful awful awful. from the employees to the on duty manager 12/26/18 around 1:00 pm, the wait was ridiculous. when after 30 mins of waiting for my to go order, i start hearing numbers being called well after i put my order in. i asked a " space cadet" what the deal was.... and i got a dead stare and silence. i asked for my money back and they ( space cadet at counter and space cadet captain aka manager lost in space didn't offer an apology, nor tried to save the sale. i was on my lunch break driving a truck and they cost me. so i have to warn the public about this unprofessional crew of paid idiots handling the food. i will never stop at this location again and will be talking much crap about this zaxby's i say shut that whole crew down! i don't know about the knight crew but that afternoon shifts sad sack of a manager .... needs retraining at the corporate level, and heres a hint, get rid of the loud rude black woman that was on duty running her big mouth about how she feels about irritated customers. i am a black man and that particular ghetto ass attitude has got to go in the service industry if you really want to know. so before any thinks this rant was from a caucasian man, wrong! a lot of contributing black folk are tired of shit too. read more
