There is so much to unpack here, some good, some not very good at all. The wife in I ordered 3 dishes to share. Vegetable Lo Mein, General Tso Chicken, and Orange Chicken. First I have I was hoping it was a good sign that the place was so busy for a early Wednesday 4:30 evening. The service was fast and friendly. The establishment was clean and most if not customers were there for takeout. So, let's talk about the meal. The dishes themselves (QT size) were enormous so nice value We were both surprised that the Vegetable Lo Mein had almost no vegetables. Nice that what Vegetable were there were snow peas and broccoli but the amount there made it look like an afterthought. The dish itself had very little flavor so not a great dish. I can cover both the General Tso and Orange Chicken in the same paragraph. Pro tip on both and maybe all their dishes. There were zero vegetables in the dish, it was all fried Chicken with the correct sauce. On the plus side if you want nothing but heavily breaded fired chicken, both of these dishes will be right up your ally. From a value perspective this great, but if you want a normal Chinese dish that includes vegetables, you must order and pay for it separately. I also recommend you order extra sauce. There was plenty of leftovers that we could have eaten for the next day or two, but neither one of us were happy enough with the dishes so we tossed out the rest. read more

While this place does have a dine-in area, the takeout line was stacked up when I visited. And yet, my order was ready in efficient fashion and I was in and out. The menu is notable for offering a lot of tofu and vegetable options. It is clearly designed for picky eaters. I thought "fried tofu" was going to refer to some traditional dish and that the basic name was just a translation issue, but I almost laughed in discovering that it really is just fried tofu. To be fair, there's a sauce on the side and some rice. Ordering sautéed cabbage with a side of lo mein was likewise very straightforward, and worked out fine for me because it was an enormous amount. Combined with a veggie spring roll, this haul ended up being worth a solid three meals, and the selection of vegetarian-friendly food in coastal Georgia during the holidays is not exactly huge. No one would accuse the place of being fancy, but its spartan efficiency is to be commended in my book. read more

I recently moved to the next island over where take out options are limited. I had been craving chinese food and found nothing on the usual food sights. Then I found this one. I work from home and had guests who had to come back fromt the beach because of storms. We ordered online and I ran over and picked it up. Not only was it ready, the cashier as nice and friendly despite being very busy AND we even had a request for carrots not to be included AND they did it (no one ever does). We have never received a cold or incorrect order and receive take out almost every month. Michelle's Wok n' Roll is a great option for your standard takeout Chinese restaurant. It has the usual Chinese food that we are all accustomed to. The menu doesn't stray far from the usual Chinese fare, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Most of us have fond memories of takeout Chinese food and we all also have our favorite items. I had a Chinese Restaurant across the street from my hotel, but decided to check the reviews on all Chinese Restaurants for take out in the area & I'm glad I did. I would never have found it if I didn't google map directions from the review. I decided to get the hot & sour soup because there was one earlier review that was the only negative review that I saw. The soup was the BEST hot & sour soup I've ever had. Oh well, maybe she had a bad taste in her mouth because she "had a bad day." I would like to thank her because I probably would have ordered the wonton soup. I also ordered the Szechuan Chicken combo which was excellent, and enough for 2 people. Incredible!!! This place has amazing food in HUGE portions for an unbelievably cheap price. The restaurant is dine in or take out and the dining area is very clean and has a calm atmosphere. We stopped here on our way to Jekyll Island. My kiddos requested Chinese. It's the best Chinese food in the area.

My last two visits to Michelle's was disappointing to say the least. This was truly my go to place for Chinese food. The fried chicken wings tasted and looked like they had been steamed all day as did the Lo menu. The usual flavor was missing too. Come on people, you can do better than this!! I happened to be driving by after work and I decided to stop in. I was very pleasantly surprised. Looks like they just re-molded and there was a sign up thanking their customers to be able to make the changes. The owners were very friendly and nice. I thought that was very nice. I ordered the wonton soup, it was good, but the broth was not the peppery brown broth I am used to where I live, but it was more of a chicken flavor, and it was very good. I ordered the fried rice with egg, and the lo mien. All 3 were delicious. I like that the fried rice was rich with soy sauce and not the yellow type a lot of places have started using. Excellent food at a reasonable price. When we first moved to Brunswick, a couple years ago, we asked a local who they thought had the best Chinese food in town. They recommended Michelle's Wok N Roll, which turned out to be a real gem, and probably the best Chinese food I've ever eaten anywhere. This evening, my family of five feasted on cashew chicken, dumplings, and vegetable lo mein. It was all exceptional. Sorry there isn't a picture. We tore into it like a pack of wolves! Next week, we'll be getting curry chicken, shrimp lo mein, and more dumplings. Can't wait. Just a few more things to add! You can eat in or take out, We haven't eaten in yet, but it looks really nice, and it's separate from the takeout side. While the egg rolls are fantastic, I felt the entrees were either bland or had too much sauce to overcompensate for the lack of flavor in the dishes. The first and most appealing part of my last visit to Michelle's was her sparkling personality and enthusiasm! The food was delicious and plentiful and reasonably priced! Many Chinese restaurants frequently don't prepare the food totally fresh each day, resulting in pieces of the meat from previous days being tossed in with today's freshly prepared ingredients! My wife and I recently relocated to Brunswick, GA from Maine. We are in the middle of remodeling a home and spend long hours working on our new home. After one of many long days of working, I stumbled into Michelle's restaurant , weary and hungry. Michelle is so warm and friendly, she immediately greeted me, and offered several menu selections , for which I was very grateful. I selected the Jalapeño Chicken, House Lo Mein , and steamed dumplings. While I was waiting for my order to take home, a very old man appeared at the door of the restaurant and was greeted by Michelle's husband. The man was very weak , and Michelle's husband helped him to a seat took his money and prepared his order for him. This was a small human act of immense consequence for this old man and I was immediately struck by the grace of this simple act. The food was all exceptional, especially the steamed dumplings which are made in house. Michelle's Wok and roll is meticulously clean, offers a large clean indoor dining area, and very quick turn around on the orders. Perhaps the best reason to go there is simply to meet Michelle and her husband who go out of their way to care for the people of their community. With a track record of 27 years in business, I think they just about got it right. read more

Me sad. I was prepared to love this place. I was determined to stop by to get some egg rolls to help tempt dear Mother into eating and these freaking eggrolls were always one her a favorite items to eat. I'd never eaten here in all the years of hearing her talk about this spot. AND I'd never heard her mention anything but the egg rolls. I should have taken that as a warning sign, but honestly - this family stuff / her sickness has me completely discombobulated. Location - Others have covered this. But the parking lot is tight and peppered with people who don't seem to give AF about walking in front of your car SLOOOOWLY, or making contact with your car, or invading your personal space. You've been warned. Food - I ordered shrimp fried rice and egg roll for a friend, sweet n sour chicken and fries for a friend and 'chicken on a stick' with chicken fried rice for me. The 'chicken on a stick' was supposed to be chicken breasts. Instead, it was clearly thigh meat. See pictures. I called back once I got in the car with my food and they double-downed on this madness and told me it was white meat. The chicken fried rice was supposed to have white meat, onions and "other vegetable.' Instead, I was given diced dark meat (and very little of it at that - lol), white onions and yellow rice. That's it. See pictures. When I questioned it, I was told that it was white meat and that if I wanted any other veggies than onions, I should order the vegetable fried rice and then ADD chicken to it. I asked before ordering and was told something completely different. So they don't get a 1 star review because they cook with dark meat. They get a 1-star review because they use cheap meat, charge a premium price, then lie about using the cheaper meat. Prices - Based on the MENU prices - things seemed on par with average Chinese spot, but somehow a small shrimp fried rice ($6), chicken on a stick special ($10), sweet n sour chicken and fries kids meal ($5.50) and three egg rolls ($4.50) totaled over $30 instead of $26. Customer Service - the first person I encountered wasn't that friendly, but the young men working there were pleasant and friendly. Positives - they have a special section devoted to low fat and healthy options. Negatives - Overpriced - no itemized receipts. Food not good. Staff not honest. OMG! This is THE place to go for lunch or dinner. You will NOT be disappointed. Menu options galore; what to choose? As it was our first visit (but definitely not the last), we decided on the House Special soup and an order of steamed dumplings. The place was extremely busy which meant the food should be good. All the folks who came and went with their orders told us we would not be disappointed. Boy we're they right. The gal took our order and we went into the little eating area adjacent to the order window. In a short time, our order was ready. The soup was hot, tasty, and loaded with chicken, shrimp, and crisp vegetables. The dumplings were filled to perfection and had a sauce to go with. The restaurant is super clean, the food is super delicious, and I can't wait to back and try something off their vast menu. It is all take out but there is a seating area just off the main counter should you wish to eat there. Very clean with nice background music.
