I had a dinner sampler...1 piece of fried chicken breast, a piece of meatloaf, and 3 sides (Mac & cheese, hash brown casserole, and corn) and a basket of biscuits, cornbread and butter. A ton of good. Everything was soooo yummy. Just under $16. Can't beat that. Also had a shepherd's pie which was made different than typical. This one had chunks of meatloaf, like pot roast, instead of ground beef. It was delicious! Much better than regular shepherd's pie. Loved it. After spotting the "No overnight parking" sign at the rest area just north of here, I continued onwards and spent the night at the Cracker Barrel in my campervan. I arrived too late for dinner but that doesn't mean that I can't get an early breakfast on the way out! After a quiet night, I arrived just after opening to a warm welcome and was seated immediately. My waiter took my order, brought coffee and a very few minutes later, brought breakfast. Two eggs basted (they don't do poached) with bacon and sausage. First off we love Cracker Barrel usually. We arrived on Wednesday night at 8:30pm. The hostess asked how many. My wife said three and the hostess grabbed two menus and silverware sets and led us to the dining room. Simple mistake but it went downhill from there. I ordered the sampler and was informed that they had no meatloaf or chicken that goes with the sampler. So I ordered a hamburger steak medium rare. It came out well well well done. My son ordered chocolate chip pancakes. They came out plain. My wife ordered chicken tenders they were way overcooked as well. The waitress was good and brought extra biscuits and had the pancakes made correctly. Please note that we are not complainers and understand that everyone can have a bad night. But this was multiple things and I think that they should know. read more

Much the same as our local Cracker Barrel in decor, menu, and merchandise, we figured having dinner here would be good for comfort. We were right. Husband had his favorite - country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes and corn. Since I had a root canal this morning, I needed soft food & opted for breakfast - scrambled eggs, grits, jam & toast. While we waited for our food, we saw that tables were marked "not in use" for social distancing. All employees were masked. We stayed masked until food arrived, but most around us chose to take them off once they ordered. I was in a funk. It was last Sunday afternoon, my housemate was off with their family, and I was craving some home cooking. Something like a solid meatloaf, 6thmashed potatoes, candied carrots, and greens meal. So, given the dearth of selections in the Brunswick area, I rolled into the parking lot of Cracker Barrel. Inside, a nice hostess led me to my table of preference, which was sparkling clean but missing the normally ever present pegboard game. Awww.... The waiter bustled up immediately, took my sweet tea request, asked if I would like a basket of corn muffins brought back with my beverage (Yes!) and hustled away in a C3PO manner. I wondered if I should use my Wookie or Darth Vader voice to order my food upon his return. To his credit, he had my tea, cornbread muffins in a basket, and 5 butter patties. I ordered meatloaf, turnip greens, baby carrots, and stewed apples. He repeated my order, said he'd be back in a jiffy, and glided away. I checked the time on my cellphone. 6 minutes later, I kid you not, here he came, doing a walking imitation of a kayaker deftly navigating through water lilies. He even, though unbidden, had the condiment de riguer, Heinz ketchup, with him. Impressive. Now, alas, I have to recall my profound disappointment with the meat lump which sported a blackened glaze with cold places in the mealy interior, the apple-flavored glaze with very little fruit, and the stringy turnips with no pot likker to sop my corn muffins in, but, oh gosh, the carrots were mighty fine. I groaned. Generations of Southern cooks mourned. I did my best to extricate some meatloaf from the burnt husk. Any magic the meal promised to have had long fled the building. So, spiffy server effort aside, I must slap down One Star. Someone should've never plated that monstrosity, and someone else should have never brought it out. read more

I'm visiting the area for work. I had the best service and food at a Cracker Barrel. This is three reviews in one. The first day I had the steak and shrimp. Steak was perfect mid rare. Day two I had the seasonal chicken tenders with the spicy honey. Those were also perfect. Day three, Finally my favorite, the pot pie and Mac and cheese. I could eat both every day. If I could give an extra 5 stars to Tessa my server I would!! Tessa is new to serving and is already a pro. She was personable and attentive. Even in a middle of a rush her attitude was positive!! She deserves all the praise. If I lived in the area I would come often. The dining room was clean and nostalgic. Service knocked if out of the park. 0 complaints on the food. I ordered a medium rare steak with my steak and eggs and it was completely overcooked! It was completely brown. I ordered grits, they tasted like bitter tap water. I ordered over-medium eggs, the easiest thing to cook, and they were undercooked. When I say nothing went right, I mean it. I have mixed feelings about this location; and it's gotten nothing to do with Brad's wife. We stopped by this Cracker Barrel on our way home from St. Simons and had a decent meal with great service. And no, it wasn't Brad's wife. My gripe comes with social distancing here. I'm by far not one of these socialphobes, but when it came to social distancing here at this location of Cracker Barrel it was pretty much non-existent; too many people packed in the store rubbing all up against each other. I think they could put in some sort of safeguards to keep this from happening; like limiting number of customers inside the store at one time, more open aisles in the store, or something... I love Cracker Barrell! From the store that I can get lost in shopping for old fashioned candy and great knick-knacks...to the very very yummy comfort food! Placed an online pickup order and it was ready on time, and super yummy! The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars...the store process with pull-up/pick-up seems to be out of order as they are not getting the notifications, so I sat for about 10 minutes before going in to see what hold up was. Cracker Barrel in Brunswick Ga. Was pretty good. Our waiter was Gracie. She was quite attentive, friendly and apologetic when food came out slowly or if she took too long( which she didn't). The Barrel was quite busy! Gracie was amazing. I always loved their hash brown casserole but .... She gave me a game changer get it grilled!!!! Yummy Fried chicken was crispy and tasty, veggie plate was good, however the kernel corn was bland. I'd definitely go again. I loved the cute syrup bottles, they still adhere to Covid standards ( plastic wear, individualized containers too. Thanks Brunswick! Glenda took very good care of us the morning after Thanksgiving. It wasn't too terribly busy bit Cracker Barrel is Ctacker Barrel, decently crowded. The food is always good and our breakfast was as expected. The only thing I don't like about CB now is the biscuits and cornbread come out with the meal instead of after you order. But, if that's the only issue we have then it's a non issue really. Keep up the good work CB! I paid woth the app instead of standing in line in the country store. The issue with this is, my credit card was being declined due to being expired....but it wasn't. When I added the card via Google Pay it went through. So, there's a hiccup the developers need to explore. read more

We have stopped at this particular location in the past and always had a fairly decent experience; this time not so fortunate. As with all restaurants these days, I will preface these comments by noting they are understaffed. 2:30 PM lunch. Waited forever for a waitress, which may not necessarily been her fault, but a long wait nonetheless. Primary complaint here was that it was FREEZING, and our particular table right under a thunderous air vent; I complained to the manager who did adjust the air and moved us to a warmer spot, but there is no way I should have to bring this to his attention it was figuratively arctic in there. Even after the adjustment it was still cool, the bathroom and shopping area likewise cold. Now this might seem like an uncommon complaint but the first thing we received was water, and one would think, water is water....but this was bad..like tap water from Flint Michigan..bad I don't expect Perrier, but this was undrinkable...my relative ordered grilled chicken tenders and I know from experience it comes in two sizes, a very large dinner portion and a smaller lunch size, but since she ordered while I was up complaining about the air, I couldn't provide that advice and this little old lady who can barely eat one, received the largest order; it should be incumbent upon the waitress to inquire when you order an item in two sizes, which size the customer wants. My food arrived and was very mediocre. Said nothing about any of it, as the waitress was already clearly displeased either is over the relocation. On the way out my mother decided to shop for a toy on the 50% rack and found one she liked. When my father took it up to the register to purchase it rang up very expensive. Since it had no tag on it, disputing the price was impossible. The clerk could have cared less and just droned the high price like a mantra.. 15$ for a little plastic horse, which is clear to anyone is likely the full retail price at best...no discount applied. As a chain, Cracker Barrel is losing its luster. Situated along the highways, these restaurants used to move you through quickly anticipating you are on the road and don't have time to linger, but seems to mostly cater to local crowds now and there certainly is no urgency. Southern hospitality at it's finest! We are traveling people so have frequented many a Cracker Barrel over the years. This was a first visit to this particular location and are we glad we found it! Let's start with Glenda our server who made us feel like we were family. Amazing service, never had to ask for a refill, extra napkins and just a pleasure to meet. The food was delicious, the fried chicken was exceptional, the Friday fish fry was amazing.. all exceeded our expectations! Will be back whenever we are passing through. read more

One of my better experiences at Cracker Barrel. Stopped here on our way to SC specifically because they have rv parking in the back and allow you to stay overnight. So we pulled in around 5 or 6pm. Had dinner there which was surprisingly good. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes it was very tasty. So was their corn bread and biscuits. My girlfriend had the fried fish special which was also good. Quite airy not very greasy. Anyways after dinner went back to RV for the night. No issues all night and had breakfast in the morning. They have my favorite combo on the menu, eggs, bacon and French toast. It was all great and the service was good also. Would stop here again in the future. read more
