    Dining room was cute

Ugh! I really wanted to like it. We had taken a relative some chicken fingers from another location and he reported it was good. And the smell was so pleasant when we brought it to him. We were on the road and decided to try it for ourselves. But we chose to go to the Charlottesville location. Waaah! The decor was very nice/cute. And the staff nice. But the chicken and fries tasted as if the oil was old/rancid. It had a "gasoline" taste and smell. I was unmistakable. But as I smelled that smell through the restaurant I was convinced we wouldn't get a better batch. I had a salad with fried chicken and that chicken was also gross. I may one day try a different Zaxby's. But I'm in noo rush!!!

Fried pickles you say? Yes please! Also wanted mushrooms but they were out, oh well. They were fresh hit and tasty and the person working was nice and apologized for no mushrooms

Manager Unprofessional and confrontational, to the point that I feel sorry for the people working under him. We waited 30 minutes for our food and when we asked for a manager he was aggressive and zero percent apologetic and extremely angry looking. Good news we had the meal comped but honestly would never go back manager need some serious customer service training everyone else there was fine just the manager. Food was fine.

Swung by this place on our way back from Wintergreen... it's got a weird shared parking lot on the side... which was great for us and the dogs so they could stretch, go potty, and get some water. The service here was pretty slow... saw the drive thru also moving pretty slow. More importantly giant sign that says no Zalads... which was six for me since that's the only reason I come to Zaxbys; but opted for the chicken finger plate. The chicken was delish! Had to ask about our cups twice before they were provided (again not the best service)

Charlottesville bound! Recommended by a local so you know I had to stop by. I love a country style restaurant. The place was clean and the decor was eye catchy and trendy. The food, it was pretty mid. The sweet and spicy sauce on the wing didn't have any special flavor however, it was cooked and marinated very well. The cheese balls tasted like they only used flour and an egg wash. The chicken tenders though, were the star of the show. It had a golden brown finish and it was nice and juicy. I believe my experience would've been better it I have tried the different sauces and test the spice level.

My husband and I heard Zaxby's was doing a buy one get one deal on their Southern TLC Chicken sandwich meal, so since I'd never been to Zaxby's before we decided to stop in for dinner. First of all, I was impressed by the interior! You're really selling the place short if you only go through the drive through. The register and seating areas are done up in a much more design-heavy way than your typical fast food chain, and I thought it had a lot of character. Our service at the register as we ordered the two meals plus a kids meal for our son was very friendly and helpful, as we didn't know our way around the menu, being newbies. Our food came out pretty quickly, and it was hot hot. I thought the presentation was a bit lacking as the sandwich and fries were just floating around the black plastic/styrofoam plate, but I was there to eat not admire art, so not a big deal. The chicken was very tender and juicy and, as I said, hot, and I thought the flavor in the breading was pretty nice, too. The sandwich as a whole was satisfying. A good classic chicken sandwich. As for the fries, they were well-cooked and tasty, but I thought they went a bit overboard on the seasoning myself. It was a good seasoning, but I only needed a sprinkle, and some of the fries were definitely coated. I will say that the kids meal seemed like a great deal to me, and the tenders my son received were nice and plump, too! A positive experience. At someone's request I would revisit, and I would suggest, for curiosity's sake if you haven't been yet, you should also try out Zaxby's. (If not only just to see their fancy interior!) They also have one of those fancy drink dispensers that have about one million options. Almost too much choice.

The chicken tenders came out of this world ! A+ ! Today I…read moremade an online order and after submitting the order I realized that nowhere I was asked what level of Spiciness I want and when tried calling them on the phone multiple times no one answered and there was no way to contact them online either . However when I arrived to pick up my order , I told them and they said they made it " No spice" I said I want it medium Spicey and I believe the manager immediately told me " no problem "! He brought another box with medium Spicey chicken tenders within 2 minutes . So cudos to the manager or whoever the nice fellow was that fixed the problem immediately, without any argument. THANK YOU !! I would suggest that there will be an option to specify spiciness level and not allow to send the order until one makes a choice so this issue won't repeat . EXCELLENT JOB!!!

Oh well. Third time was NOT the charm. If you saw my previous review of Dave's, you know I had a…read morebit of a love affair going on with this place. So, love woke me up today, and I decided that, despite changing my eating habits prior to my summer beach trip... I had to go to Dave's. Beach be damned. I needed Dave's. I mean, if you're going to break your diet, this is the only place to do it. I decided to go off script and try something different. Those little chicken bites looked appetizing and the new giant mozzarella stick was interesting. I ordered the chicken bites with the hot honey sauce... And one mozzarella thing with the very spicy sauce/flavor... The first thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that, right as I was starting to pay, the cashier decided to hit me with a 30 second diatribe about the tip button on the POS system. I just read an article about how tipping has gotten out of control in America. We used to tip for exceptional service. Now we tip because we breathe. I always overtip for exceptional service. Believe it or not, I am hypersensitive about being an African-American and how the entire race might be viewed if I don't tip well. So I tip well. But I don't like having to tip for a fast food meal. It's the same thing at Starbucks. If I pay $10 for a cup of coffee, I shouldn't have to pay another two dollars to the person who just happened to take my order. Let's be real, they don't even take our credit cards and swipe them anymore. We are doing all the work at the counter, so why tip them. When the guy at the counter told me that there was a tip option, and then explained in detail who the tip went to at Dave's.... I felt like I was being forced to throw extra money on what was already a $21 meal. I bought what amounted to some chicken nuggets, with a handful of fries, and a giant mozzarella stick. And a Coke. It was almost $22. That same meal would've cost 11 not too long ago. And now, you're trying to guilt me into adding a tip of 20%. That would take the bill up to $26 for some fricking chicken nuggets. Insane. So, I only gave a dollar as a tip, which only seemed to irritate the cashier. Now, on to the food. In my previous two trips, the chicken seemed premium. It was great quality, and the meals were wonderful. Today, those chicken nuggets seemed like second rate chicken. I had to spit one of them out because inside was fatty. The rest of them were stringy. I was five nuggets in before I found one that actually had the type of consistency that I would expect from eating chicken. It was pretty gross. My fries were not hot. I was honestly sitting there, wondering if they served me tepid fries because I did not tip big. The mozzarella stick was delicious though. I am admitting that I will go back just for that in the future. And the drinks are always good. They have the perfect ratio of syrup to carbonation. So, to sum it up. I got accosted by the tip police for a take out meal...the meal itself looked great when they handed it to me, but it was bad in two of three areas....bad chicken consistency and fries that died in the window. Thank goodness this was my third trip, so I will try them again. I just won't be getting those second rate chicken bites. And next time I'm not tipping a penny. Come on, Dave.
