My husband and I placed a takeout order of egg rolls from the Memphis location on Hackcross Rd. The egg rolls were burnt and greasy. When we returned to the restaurant to complain to the manager, she was very dismissive and rude. She said that she could replace them, but they would probably look the same. The rolls look like they were cooked in old burnt grease. She didn't say that she would address this with her staff or offer any compensation for me having to drive five miles back to the restaurant to compain. This is only my second time at a Zaxby's. I didn't like the first time a few years ago and never planned on trying it again. But you know. The friend wanted me to go with him. I had the club sandwich. It was just alright. Why can't they put a breast on some bread? It was like strips or tenders. Truth is, I have eaten at several different Zaxby's Restaurants in the Memphis area and many in other cities. Usually, I ordered their Fried Chicken Finger Plate, but recently I tried the salads for lunch and I am HOOKED! Co-workers will tell you that I return with a Zaxby's salad 8 out of 10 times. The service is fast and the salads have been delightful. Although I have tried each version, my favorite is the Cobb Salad with Fried Chicken. Decent fast fried food. Condiment bar was sticky and nasty, tables weren't much better. In the 2 hrs I was there (business meeting) I never saw an employee come into the dining room to clean. They OUTRIGHT REFUSED to refund the money. They said I could come back up there and they would see about remaking the order. I contacted Zaxby's Corporate and they promised they would have the franchisee call me. That NEVER happened. I called again the next day. SAME STORY. It NEVER happened. I have now filed a BBB complaint and taken to social media. If you insist on eating there, go inside. WATCH what they do. WATCH how your food is prepared. While visiting the area for two weeks, I ate here twice -once to eat in and the other to-go. Each time, I got the Cobb salad with blackened chicken. Both orders were prepared perfectly; they were beautiful in appearance like a piece of art. I applaud the kitchen staff! The veggies were fresh and the meat was perfectly seasoned. It was enough for two days. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience each time. I also introduced my mom to this particular salad. This is her new favorite item on the menu. Wow! I had no idea I would be so impressed by a Zaxby's drive thru at 9 pm. These kids have got their act together! I pulled up and the line was loooong. I figured I would sit for a minute and then figure out somewhere else to go and leave. Nope! That line zipped along and I had my humongous chicken salad within 3 minutes total. I spent 1 of those minutes chatting with the cashier who was super sweet (sorry people behind me.) She used to work with me and I know if they are hiring those sort of people, they appreciate good workers. My salad was bigger than my belly and loaded with tons of really yummy chicken. I love that they put cucumbers in their salad and have the sliced tomatoes instead of the stupid cherry tomatoes everyone else uses!!! It could have used some more cheese (not being a fatty - there was less than an ounce on the huge salad) and some more dressing. Bread was meh but had good buttery flavor. read more

If there is any fast food chicken place out there that can rival the great Chik Fil A it's this place . Some would even argue it's better and depending on the day , I may agree. I went through the drive through line here during lunch rush. There were two young ladies taking orders with no menu to choose from outside far away from the menu sign. I ordered off memory however when I proceeded through the line I looked at the menu at the intercom and remembered I needed one order of fries. Once I got to the window I asked if I could purchase a order of fries and the young lady at the window gave me an anger look and without saying a word to me she turned away and I overheard her ask her supervisor if I could order some fries at the window and the supervisor said no she a have large order behind me and they don't have time to take my order. I sat at the window waiting for a response to my request for an order of fries after they took my payment for the first order. While I was waiting on my fries the supervisor at the window asked me what I was waiting for as she gave me my order. I said I was waiting for them to process my request for fries. She said I cannot take your order at the window I would have to get back in line. I got back in line and when I place my fries order the young lady said " oh back so soon" I told her they would not take my order at the window, her response was "that is just wrong" and took my order. When I came back to the window to pay and pick up my food again, they took my payment and gave me my fries. I checked the bag and there was no ketchup so I asked for ketchup and she said "we out of ketchup"!! I find Zaxby's to be a good value. For $6.54 I get a nice grilled chicken sandwich, fries and a drink. The chicken is a good portion and moist. Fries are krinkle-kut and lightly seasoned. Atmosphere is bright and comfortable; music is not loud. My only negative comment is that the lights hanging over the menu make it hard to read the items at the top. Came here because we had a Groupon for Zaxby's. We both ordered the same meal consisting of chicken strips, fries, and Texas toast. It took them forever to process the Groupon (only a manager can do it), took forever to get our food, and by the time we got our food, my fries and toast were cold! They give you a ton of food for the money get the Nibblerz Platter not available in the restaurant that I know of but they were good.
