Meant to order tenders but ended up with wings. The wings are good sized. You can choose your coating and up to 2 types with an 8 piece. The garlic Parmesan was better than the lemon pepper. Still not a huge fan of their fries. But did appreciate the staff who were very nice and stopped by our table to make sure everything was good and asked whether we needed any more sauces. 5 stars for the service alone. This was my first time going, so I stopped by on July 8th to grab a bite after work, and from the moment I walked through the door, there was a warm greeting. Once I received my food, three young gentlemen continued to check on me to see if I needed anything from the moment i entered until the moment I was about to leave. You don't get this service at some of the finest restaurants that you spend large amounts of money at. Normally, in most cases, you provide a tip to the individual who's providing a great service to you, but since I was torn between the three young gentlemen I couldn't only tip one for the fact they equally made sure i was good with my food and if i needed anything else. I had to tip all three. Crazy as it sounds, this generosity hasn't happened in a long time and really touched me, especially seeing this from our younger generation. The food was fresh and hot but the service was dynamite! I generally felt like this wasn't just work policy... it was genuinely how they were raised to treat all people. I will definitely be back. After a full day on the road, we pulled into the Slim Chicken in Collierville, TN (Memphis area). It was our 1st time. Not only was the young man taking drive thru orders super professional and friendly, he made several excellent recommendations. (How often does that happen in a drive thru???)...Geat experience! We still had 3 hrs to drive to get home, so we left in a rush. I didn't realize til I got home that I had left my credit card at the drive-through. That's when I called and spoke to Allan Richardson, the GM at Slim Chickens. He was so nice and immediatelysearched for and found my card. When I asked if I could pay him if he would mail me my card, he refused to accept any payment at all, even though it was my mistake. A couple days later my card arrived at home as promised, saving me a lot of "credit card headaches". Thanks Allen and the rest of the Slim Chicken team for a great meal and excellent service. A family member mentioned gravy as a dipping side... and I was intrigued. Chicken places have the usual hot or savory sauces, and sometimes you just want to keep things simple with chicken tenders and gravy. Off we went, as we've seen this restaurant while heading back and forth on Poplar to the Collierville Post Office. I kept the order simple, as I sometimes have decision anxiety with the many options available. I picked the Classic meal, add a drink and picked an additional sauce for a small up-charge... Slim Sauce and Gravy. The menu board had not mentioned that I could pick a side other than fries, so I went along with what was displayed in the picture; if I knew, I wouldn't have minded upgrading to fried mushrooms, or considered another side. I paid for the to-go order, and waited in the vast, airy dining area. There's a TV in the area, not too loud and had provided some entertainment while waiting for the order. Drink station was clean and functional, despite the vent coming off and placed to the side. It looked like it was under service, or about to be cleaned off but the grill was safely placed to the side and not blocking access to the machine. The to-go bag order came out in an expected amount of time, and I headed home to partake in the meal. Service was... expected for this part of TN. I get that people have their bad days or disinterested days, and I've experienced the average-to-bare-minimum amount of customer service around these parts. It really is what it is, and went in expecting bare minimum interaction. I'll leave it at that... I do hope the best for those employees working there at that time. I got home, and tucked into the Classic Meal of tenders; unexpectedly there were a couple more tenders added than the 4 that was in the menu description. The Slim Sauce wasn't proprietary or Thousand Island based; it did taste great with both the chicken and the fries. And the gravy hit the spot! It paired well with all components, including the Texas Toast! It's a white gravy, and I do see it combining nicely with the Chicken and Waffles. Perhaps another day, and another order. In ordering the Classic meal, I was pleasantly surprised I was given a larger plastic to-go cup, as it was unexpected. I did a mix of unsweetened tea with lemonade, and headed out. It was unfortunate when filling out the survey on the receipt that I did review what I paid and discovered that I was unknowingly upgraded and upcharged for the larger cup. A heads-up would have been appreciated or asked if I wanted to go larger, and just furthered the disappointment of said service in this general TN area. Give it a try at this chicken restaurant. There's others in the area, and what's going for Slim Chicken is that they're a concept that competes and compliments the other chicken restaurants in the area. read more

We ordered an adult meal (chicken tenders), child's chicken tenders, with fried pickles, French fries, Mac and cheese as sides and the brownie and strawberry cheesecake jars. I received a call letting me know they didn't have brownie, and asked if they could substitute Oreo. No, problem at all. The Oreo cheesecake jar was the star of the meal, so that was a happy accident!! Tenders were ok. I could have used more seasoning on mine, but my toddler who is the chicken tender expert in our house, really liked them. Mac and cheese was also very good. The fried pickles were too salty and thin for my taste. French fries were good. We ordered through door dash and it was slightly cold when it arrived (obviously not the restaurant's fault, but heads up if you order delivery). It is a bit expensive for what it is. I realize with delivery, there are extra charges. Maybe next time I will just pick up, and avoid the extra charges to make it more reasonable. As with most places that just open, it was busy - I do have to give them props for being well organized and keeping the flow of traffic smooth. Overall, the food quality was excellent, very moist and not over cooker nor under cooked. The dipping sauces were also good as well. The selection of sides was different in a good way, not too often you see potato salad, fried mushrooms along with fried pickles as a side unless you are getting BBQ...my choice was the potato salad and ranch chips which were wonderful. The desserts were wonderful as well! However, they forgot our chocolate brownie pudding jar dessert but here is what won me over. I called the store and told them that they forgot to put our dessert in our bag, expecting a refund - I was blown away when they said they would deliver out to my sister-in-laws in Rossville. I was touched when the owner and another worked from the restaurant brought us not just that dessert jar but another one as well....this is true customer service at its best! I don't know why doesn't have the shake on receipt when one can get it instead. Let's say you pay 5.99 for a sandwich, take completed survey code on receipt and can get a 3.99 shake free, so that leaves one paying only 2.99 for a meal. But OF COURSE you'LL want to add more food.
