The one star is due to the owner not wearing gloves when preparing the food.. the son assuming as he & the cook look just alike. Witnessed him wash his hands after every encounter which is a PLUS.. very sanitary. Great spot for a great bite to eat. I had never been here before so it was great to finally try this spot. Ordered 2 cheese steaks one for lunch and one to bring home. Both were great even reheated. Bread is super soft and tastey. Cheese steak is made fresh right after you order it so it is piping hot once it comes out. Great taste. The service was swift and reliable, we had our food at the end of five minutes. The portions are generous and very filling. I had the new fried pickles and it was delicious, crunchy, and it had a good pickle after taste. My mouth was watering after the first bite. I also got to try the Phil Steak Sandwich, the bread was soft and the texture was immaculate. It was a wonderful steak and cheese combo! They had Philadelphia memorabilia all around the restaurant, it was fun looking at history and seeing them represented in the restaurant. Also the restroom has two ply toilet paper and it's clean, it was a solid restroom. Would recommend 5/5, it was good, a nice experience for the whole family. read more

My good friend said this was the best cheesesteak sandwiches in the area. The service is counter order and they were very polite and helped make our order perfect. The place is small but clean. Now the food. I have spent a lot of time in Philly and I will say this is as good as it gets. If you like cheesesteak and haven't been here yet you are seriously missing out. We got the 18 inch cheesesteak with Velveeta, we also got the ranch, bacon, french fries, and cheese curds. I will say this was one of the best takeout meals I have had in a while, and I would be happy to come back here if it wasn't for the fact that I would gain weight like a madman eating here every week, so I definitely give this 10 out of 10. read more

Even though they have stated hours, they can not maintain the inventory they need to stay open for their posted hours. Three days in a row I have driven here just to be met with the attached sign. Management needs to do a much better job of properly stocking the restaurant with enough food to maintain their posted hours or shorten your hours. It's false advertising to post you are open to waste my time to drive there to see you have nothing to serve... I've only had pitiful and poor experiences with this restaurant! First of all, I've always known about this place, but could never quite pick it out driving by. Spend a minute and figure it out... they rock! The ordering and pick up, flawless as expected. The Philadelphian Port Charlotte: It took me a while to get up there as it is a little bit of a hike from where I live. I always wanted to get to this place as I heard it's one of the best sub shops in the area.  We walked in on a Friday near 12 noon and boy was this place busy. Luckily we found 1 table that was empty but shortly after there was a line out the door for orders. Even though the place was maxed out busy it was very clean and organized.  We did order our subs and french fries fairly fast. I ordered the 12 inch Italian Sub with fries. My wife ordered the ham sub with fries also. I figured it would take an hour to get our food but it came out in a reasonable time. Still all the tables were filled and the line was smaller than outside the door. The sub I got was unbelievably good. It tasted fresh and I looked at the innards, the lettuce and tomatoes were all fresh even the bread was fresh. My wife's sub was the same way we both loved our subs. The french fries were good and not burnt or cold. I barely got my entire sub and fries eaten as it was a lot of food for one person. My wife had to get a box to take her leftovers home. If this place was near where I lived I would be over there ordering a lot of subs. Next time there I want to try the cheese steak as they looked amazing. If you're in the area you must stop by this place and try it you will not be sorry. I give this place a 4 out of 5 thumbs up. if I could give it a 4.5 I would. Honestly, what a hidden gem. We got two 12" cheesesteak sandwiches, an order of tots and 2 drinks. The cheesesteaks are loaded with meat, cheese (wiz, sauce? Amoroso rolls...... Best cheesesteak in the area, these steaks are as good as Jim's on South Street in Philly. Delicious meat, the onions were perfect and the roll was delightful. The Philadelphian has that South Philly mom and pop sandwich shop smell and ambiance, the walls are lined with Philadelphia sports memorabilia and a picture of Frank Rizzo! Definitely worth going to the Philadelphian every time you're in the area, you won't be disappointed. If you're a 4 for 4 Philly sports person and you need that cheesesteak fix, you gotta stop by. Very pleased with the Cheesesteak for lunch! They put in a generous amount of meat so it makes it worth the price of the sandwich. Their sides weren't too great though. The fries definitely needed salt or seasoning of some sort and was a tiny serving for almost $5.. which I didn't even bother with them. The new cheese curds were also just alright, but didn't love them and wouldn't order those again. Definitely sticking with just the sandwich next time.
