They have a great kids' play area, which makes it so much easier to relax and enjoy the meal. The food is always delicious, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Chicken Fajitas was tried at two different locations and they were both a 1 rating simply awful. Very old fried chicken broken up in pieces and thrown in a fajita wrap. The location in Plant City was bad and the location in Lakeland by 98 Street or Hwy. The chicken looks like someone chewed the chicken and spit it out into the pita bread than sold it. Zaxby's is unique in their own way with menu options from of wings bone-in or bone-out, salads, chicken fingers, and much more. And how could I leave out the Texas toast and veggie egg rolls as they are 2 of my fave sides. Service is never an issue as I typically order via drive thru, which is little to no wait after ordering. No comment on ambiance due to using drive thru when visiting but can say that staff are always courtesy and friendly. read more

Zaxby's is the perfect choice whenever you want fast food, but want something other the usual burger and fries. They also have cheese curds. Lately, I've been getting my cheese curd fix at Culver's (who has yellow cheese curds vs white) which is why I haven't been to a Zaxby's in quite a few years, but let's face it, Zaxby's chicken is WAAAYYY better than Culver's. I took Muffin with me out to the drive thru, not feeling like parking my car and wanting to spend more time with my dog (and I don't think that Zaxby's allows dogs anyway). The wait wasn't too bad. I got myself a four piece of Zaxby's chicken fingers (classic) and a side of their white cheese curds. The food came out rather quickly once I drove up to the second window, and it surprisingly stayed pretty hot when I arrived back home. It's not fancy, and it's not PDQ, but the tenders were of a decent size, well breaded, and juicy as I bit into it. Oh yeah...and ZAX SAUCE! I LOVE their sauce! Can't exactly place what it tastes like other than maybe a very thick Thousand Island dressing, and although I haven't been to McDonald's in DECADES, if my recollection is correct, it also tastes like their secret sauce. One little unit of the sauce was enough for all four fingers, but I wanted two units. Just keep in mind that it's 25 cents more, but I think it's worth it and I wanted to dip my curds into that instead of the boring ranch dressing (still good, but hey, I want what I want). One taste of their cheese curds though, and I suddenly had to reevaluate why I haven't been here for so long since Culver's opened. The two curds taste different. These white curds have a slightly more sweet taste than the yellow cheddar cheese curds. Melty and gooey on the inside, crisp and fried on the outside. I was more than satisfied by the time I finished the meal. I wanted a side salad to round off the food and try to be healthy, but they stopped selling those apparently. But it was okay, since I was way too full. I know where I'll be going on my next craving for cheese curds! read more

Horrible service and incompetent staff. Placed an order for curbside drop off. And 20 mins later no one showed up. (They had zero customers at this time, I was the only one) I walk inside to see where my food was and my food was sitting on a shelf. So they give it to me without an apology or anything. I go back to my car and find part of it was missing. (I only ordered 2 things). The chicken and fries were soggy with very little seasoning. (I ordered extra seasoning) I also ordered light ice in the drink and received a cup full of ice with little soda. They even got the dipping sauces wrong that I ordered. Like seriously? You can't get 1 thing right on an order that was for 2 items? This was my first and last time I'm going there. They had 1 chance to make me a repeat and they blew it big time. read more

My son absolutely love Zaxby's. This is our first time at this location. We have been at several locations in Atlanta. When he saw that they had one here in Tampa, I had to come here for him. He had the wings and things and so did my husband. My son had boneless and my Husband had bone in. Both wimpy sauce. I don't eat chicken, so I had a fried house salad minus the chicken. It was really delicious! I love Zaxby's sauce, so I ate that with my fries and salad. Besides that, we will definitely be back. read more

Other than almost being scammed into paying for extra sauce because I was given Zak sauce by default (not request) and the initial thought was to charge me instead of exchanging the unwanted sauce, service was service. I don't come here much because the service is always terrible, but it's the closest one I live to so when I do want zaxbys I have to come to this one. Every time I think of giving it another shot, I remember why I hate it so much. I worked in the service/food industry for 8 years and when I tell you this is by far the worst customer service I have ever seen. I don't know who runs this place or why they hire the people they do, but no matter who ever takes my order they always get it wrong or act like it's their first day. The staff is always unprofessional and doesn't really care to show good customer service. Nobody is ever up front and always in the back playing around. They never greet you or ask what they can get you. They literally just stare at you until you say something. When you do order, it's like they purposely get it wrong or just simply not even listening to anything you ask for. Terrible terrible terrible. I definitely do not recommend stopping here. Zaxbys is a tier up from McDonald's, or Taco Bell not only in food quality, but in price. My thought process follows closely by, "You get what you pay for" mentality. Therefore, when I visit a Zaxbys location I have a little higher of a standard that I uphold them too not only when it comes to food quality and freshness, but customer service as well. I have to say this is one of very few times I've had to complain at a Zaxby's location, or send my food back, but this particular visit was not up to par to the standards I have set in mind for the restaurant. Not only was my food "lukewarm" at best, I was also asked by the person who took my food back from me if "I wanted it fresh?" I genuinely was like looking at this man dumbfounded by the question... like no sir, I'd like the 2 day old stuff you have in the back Anyways after we got past the stale old food they tried to pass off too me, and the guy who had next to zero customer service skills, the rest of my visit was pretty average. The person I was with got a Zalad which was great. Usually can always count on the salads at Zaxbys Lol. The fresh food I ended up receiving was much better than the first meal I was served, and the customer service from the lady at the counter was great! She was accommodating, and extremely sweet. The place was overall nice, and the drink station as well as the bathrooms were clean which is always something I pay attention too at restaurants. In the end I'd rate this Zaxbys a 5/10. Nothing great about it, nothing that bad. In general I still think Zaxbys is one of the better fast food chains out there. read more

Really nice and clean location. I had to stop by my beloved Zaxby's before I got too far south in florida, where the Zaxby's don't exist. We all ordered salads and a few chicken fingers on the side. I gotta say, the salad was large but the chicken on it was very slim. The extra tenders came in handy. One thing I've also never seen is the set up of the house salad. It had bacon and a boiled egg on it. This is pretty new to me. Lastly, one thing I love about Zaxby's salads is the dark leaves on the salad. I feel like this had a large amount of watery iceberg on it, which takes away from the unique leafy greens that are usually on Zax salads. I wasn't really impressed with the food at this Zaxby's, though I appreciate the pretty set up of the salads. read more

Remarkably good considering it is a chain. Chicken tenders were well seasoned, juicy. Delicious with or without sauces. I enjoyed the BBQ and "wimpy" sauces. The "original" and sweet and spicy, not so much. Onion rings were great. The zestable sauce is tasty. The fried cheddar cheese bites were ok. Not remarkable and not horrible. Just over-shadowed by the other items. Lastly, the coleslaw is exactly how I like it. Similar to KFC and Bojangles. Just great. I will definitely order from here again next time I am in Tampa or wherever I go that has a Zaxby's nearby. read more
