A 2 hour hem job on a prom dress cost me 130 dollars not happy

I never give bad reviews, EVER but I'm disgusted by what happened to me. Back in October I brought in my brand new, never worn leather jacket to be altered. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks because her husband is the only one who alters leather & he's backed up. I just got it back yesterday 1/23/2021!! They had the nerve to charge me $40 but I just quickly paid & left thinking I'll never use them again! When I got it home I tried it on & noticed it had bird feces all over it!! There was also an alteration tag, pinned on the inside of the jacket, but it was pinned all the way through & punctured the leather on the outside and now there is a hole in my jacket!! I could hear birds chirping when I was there but honestly thought nothing of it but now I'm certain they allow their birds to roam free when they have peoples clothes out! I will NEVER recommend or use this tailor again!! read more

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how excellent Noha did fixing my running shorts. She actually made a pocket that fit my phone perfectly and now I can bring my phone with me on my runs when I use these shorts. Noha went the extra mile to make sure that everything was exactly how I wanted it. Don't bother. Needed 3 sets of trousers altered I was advised they would be ready in one week and I would be contacted by telephone. That didn't happen. I called during normal business hours only to get a voicemail. I left a message. No call back. I showed up. Due to an error on my part mistakes were made. This woman kept reminding it was "my fault" (time and again) but it was correctable. One weeks time turned into about 4 weeks time total. This establishment's idea of a receipt is the business card. I went there to have my wedding gown altered. They lured me in with their 30+ years experience...When I got my gown back, they wanted to grossly overcharge me (half of what I paid for the gown itself!) and the hem on the gown was zigzagged, puckered and unfinished in sections. I need to buy a new wedding gown a month before my wedding because it is ruined and cannot be fixed. DON'T GO THERE!! read more

I needed a leather vest that was XXL resized to fit (I wear a medium). I went to several taylors and was told that they would not be able to help because the leather was too thick. Finally I went to Zayat Taylor shop and met Nohah and her husband Tony. They are absolutely amazing. They got the vest resized to fit me perfectly and did not have any issue with the thickness of the leather. It was ready in a couple of weeks and they did not charge me an arm and a leg. If I could give this place a negative rating I would. Let me start by saying the first time I utilized her services, she was great as were her prices (just a simple hem on pants). While there, we chatted about having other clothes & 10 sheer curtain panels cut/sewn into valances. She Stated she would charge me $8-$10 per piece including the curtains so A few days later went back with the 10 curtains and 9 pieces of clothing. I tried on each piece and she did her measurements/pinning of each piece. I told her I was in no rush and we agreed she would call me when she was done. She handed me a ticket with the #9 written on it to indicate the number of pieces. I will admit it never dawned on me that she didn't include the number of curtains. Approx. 6 weeks later after not hearing from her, I called and she stated that all the clothes and curtains were done and I could pick up anytime. I stopped in about a week later and she handed me my curtains in the same grocery bag in which I gave them to her. When I pulled out the first curtain, I noticed it was a bit uneven (to say the least) and the same with the second. But wait it gets better.....the next one was pinned but not cut or sewn at all. The remaining 7 had nothing done to them at all. She could see the puzzled look on my face but had no response other than to tell me that I owed her $15 per curtain and expected me to pay her for all 10 (yes, she wanted me to pay her not only more than what she quoted but also for the ones she never touched) and said I could leave them and she would get to them as soon as she could. I didn't respond at this point other than to ask about the clothes. Here goes....4 of the items were brand new still with the tags on. One of the skirts was just a simple hem and she hemmed it all right, all the way above the knee (not far from a mini-skirt) and tried to say that's what I requested. The next skirt still had the pins down the backside as it was only to be taken in, nothing else, and again she said that she "hemmed it as requested" so why the pins down the back? She really had no response. As I looked in the bag for the other pieces I brought, I noticed they were not in there. When I asked her about the other pieces she tried to say that was all I brought her. As I tried to refresh her memory she invited me to her back room to look through the piles of clothing to see if I could find the rest. While looking through the piles, she tried to give me other peoples clothing and tried to convince me they were mine, to which I replied I would simply just like my clothing back and none of what I brought was mans clothing but yet she tried giving me back 2 men's pieces unfortunately I was only able to find 4 of the nine pieces. While searching her stories changed several times and when I suggested maybe she accidentally gave them to someone else she quickly responded with" I have never given anyone's clothing to the wrong person"Clearly that was not true as she tried to give me several pieces that did not belong to me. In closing I would also like to add that after my first visit I referred a friend who brought her a $300+ dress to just be hemmed. not only did she charge her almost $80 (more than double her original quote)but the hem was terrible and the dress basically ruined. There are several other things I could share with you but I think I have rambled enough and that y'all get the picture. Just do not want anyone else to go through the same thing or even worse have her lose something that can't be replaced. And here's a little chuckle for you.... as I was leaving she wanted me to know that she Has never had even one upset customer or made anybecause "she has 5 stars on Facebook" read more

I got married on August 21st this year and like most men tried on my clothes with only 2 weeks before the showdown. They where tight in areas that shouldn't be and loose around the waist and just a little long . The color and size was hard enough for 4 groomsmen to match so I called around with every tailor saying they couldn't do it in that short of a time frame or charging me more than the suit itself. When we go called Zayat the sweet lady answered. I told her my dilemma and she said when can you bring it in we will take a look. I was there within an hour. She pinned and pulled and marked both the pants and Jacket out then said come back on the 22nd... I said what! Then she smiled and said in 10 days I'll have it all done and ready for you. Let me tell you that was a relief and so where her prices. It looked great on me and fit much more comfortably. Nada is amazing at her work and a fun personality. The "shop" is a nasty unprofessional "living room". I took a leather jacket there for repair of a rip. I also brought a work boot that the heel needed to be glued back to the sole. He charged me $45 for a shoddy glue job on the jacket. The woman told me she never called whoever she was supposed to about repairing the boot. While I was there she must have called and told me between $60-$70 to glue the sole. I paid for the crappy glue job and took my boot....they were $50 boots. I'll never go back there and feel sorry for anyone who does. Total rip off! read more

I was extremely dissatisfied with the work done. My husband's pants were hemmed way too short (I had requested 1" shorter) and my mother of the bride dress was sloppily altered-strapes uneven and uneven stitching on the hem. Plus she overcharged me! DON'T GO THERE! read more
