Terrible experience! Waited 45 minutes to get food after waiting 20 minutes to order. All of our orders were wrong but we didn't wait to wait another hour. My shrimp tacos were shrimp (with tails) in a flour tortilla. My girlfriend's grilled chicken sandwich was fried with a side of gravy (wtf?). The rest of the food was very subpar. We got the bill for 4 adults and 3 kids and it was $180. Prices are high, but they added a $35 gratuity which wasn't shown anywhere else but the bill. read more

Stopped in for a couple drinks and appetizers. Service was really good. Very friendly. We got the potato skins appetizer with green chilis on the side. Then we decided to order "to go" the chicken bites and the Alpine Burger. They were delicious! The chicken bites/tenders (not the strips!) are homemade and freaking awesome. We had a party of 7 and we were seated immediately which was a plus. It took us about 2 minutes to realized this was going to be a disaster. There were only two gals working the entire restaurant. We ended up with the bartender as our waitress - but we had to go to the bar to get our drinks. There were some SKETCHY men at the bar that made me and my daughter extremely uncomfortable. We ordered cheese sticks and potato skins to start with. The potato skins tasted like boiled potatoes with cheese on them - absolutely disgusting. We were told while ordering that all the chicken products were frozen. Most of our party ended up ordering burgers medium rare - they were bone dry. One person ordered the blue corn enchiladas - bless they were TERRIBLE - boiled chicken and soggy tortillas - YUCK! We ended up dropping $300 on terrible service and terrible food. Well, like everyone else, Zeb's has decided to charge more money for less food. All the new cooks need to be trained. On top of that, their long time bartender had to go to work for a different restaurant. Now everyone that I see working there doesn't, or barely, speaks any English. What is happening? I just can't support the new owner anymore. I was hoping they would put some money into the building and infrastructure, which is in desperate need of fixing. Went to Zebs today for a burger and a couple of beers and the total was $70. The burger was cold and overcooked. My wife's It also overcooked and fried okra was cold. The entire meal was cold. The catfish smelled old The fried food seemed like it had been sitting out for hours. The french fries were cold and rings were cold. I have never in my life tasted such disgusting food. Even the tea tasted stale the condition of the food that came out and the lack of cleanliness, the place should be red tagged. The service wasn't that great. The only reason I would give Creedence is because there was only two people waiting tables however there was only three tables in the restaurant occupied. The other patrons were playing pool in the back room so they're absolutely was no excuse to bring out terrible cold disgusting food. We are all shocked and the lack of quality old stale, not even hot food, and dirty surroundings whatever you do do not go there if you are traveling not to mention, but three out of our party of 6 ordered the catfish and all three of those people ended up sick later that night definitely not happenstance. It's all connected to the conditions of the restaurant nobody had any alcohol just water iced tea and the disgusting food. Zeb's is a community staple and long-time restaurant in the area. The menu is diverse and we were pleased with what we got, rib plate, fajitas, and a kid's burger. Service is a little slow, but you expect that from a small restaurant. Sometimes it can be fast, others slow, but pretty standard. The place is eclectic and fun. There was some glass left outside from a broken pint that could use cleaning up, but overall a great place to stop in. read more

Visiting the area and stopped for dinner. The ambiance is cute and decorated with Christmas decorations all around on the inside. Definitely different considering it's mid March but it's a vibe. The chips were great & salsa were the best part of the meal. Guac was ok but I had to add salt & salsa to it to give flavor. Generally I don't salt my food much cause I use spices or veggies to flavor my food. Both of our meals were completely flavorless, I've never had Mexican food that had no spice to it, not even salt. We were staying in Eagle Nest and couldn't find a place for dinner. So we drove the short distance to Angel Fire to try Zeb's. I had the trout and it was very good. Blackened just enough and moist and flaky. Baked potato & mixed veggies with it. My husband had the ribeye and it had a great flavor. Conrad was our server and he was so awesome! We ate there again on our last night. I had the sirloin, my husband had the ribeye again. Steaks were cooked nicely with a great flavor. Check it out when you're in the area! read more

Had to write this review so others traveling don't make the same mistake we did and eat here. The ribs were dry and burnt (couldn't cut the meat off with a steak knife) The steak was chewy and had a lot of fat on it. While the waiter was nice, the food isn't worth it. read more

We got our table, and yes, we did have a large group so we knew it would take time, however it was over 30 minutes before they took our drink order then another 30 before we got our drinks and he took our order. Our waiter kept disappearing. 1 time he was sitting in a chair by the kitchen and another time he was sitting in the bar. Every table around us, that came in after us got their food before us and when we finally found our waiter and asked about our food, he said "oh... let me check on that". When our food finally came, IT WAS COLD. The fried shrimp was hard and couldn't be eaten. The cheese on Grilled cheese and Philly cheesesteak sandwichs was not t even melted. Trout was cold. Corn tortillas were hard and stale and couldn't be eaten. The only decent thing was the potato skins. Then to top it off 2 people in our group got sick. First of all, this place FAR exceeded its low reviews. I dine by reviews and we tried the "best" in town but were underwhelmed. We decided to chance this and that was a great decision! Dog friendly, great beer selection (including multiple ipa options). Friendly, homey atmosphere. The burger is solid but the brisket plate hits on all cylinders! A healthy serving, bit of a mix shredded and cut, Laid on a bed of beans (not sweet) and topped with their in-house sauce, with onions a pickle and jalapeños riding along side. It wasn't what I'm used to for presentation, but it was exactly what it needed to be - juicy and oh so delicious. Jesus (hayzus) was quick and friendly and they make a killer Paloma. This was the culinary highlight of our stay in Angel Fire. Stop here first, you'll thank me later. read more

Zebs is always a favorite of our kids when we come visit AF (twice a year). We usually pick it up, and the y live their "spicy fries" (which are NOT spicy, they're just seasoned curly fries, which we love). And they dip in ranch dressing which we unanimously vote Zebs the king of ranch dressings. My 11 yr old loves the skin on grilled trout. Everything we've had has been pretty good! read more

Walked in and was delighted to see the Christmas decor! There was a sign that said masks were required when not at the table, but everyone was maskless, waitresses included. We're vaccinated and I hope everyone else was, so we were happy to sit with no masks. The host stand stood empty, though the sign said to wait to be seated. I guess one is supposed to ignore the signs because a lady told us to sit wherever. She was visiting a table, but didn't seem to work there. We sat and a waitress came with menus. We got chips-n-salsa, combo fajitas, chicken teriyaki, and rainbow trout. The Salsa was delicious and tasted fresh! The garlic even tasted freshly peeled and minced! When the Rainbow Trout came out, it looked delicious. I didn't expect the "Vegetable of the day" to be mixed green beans, corn, carrots, and lima beans. Now, the problem was that we couldn't eat it for a long while as we had no silverware. They were also out of dinner rolls, which was supposed to come with the meal. I wasn't told this until I asked if it was coming. The Fajitas were requested to be without cheese, but they were brought with cheese the waitress said normally doesn't come with it. We had to send it back. Meanwhile, we waited for the Chicken Teriyaki and the silverware, as well as the returned Fajitas. Finally they came out! But not our silverware, I had to ask another time. Now the Rainbow Trout: It was still somewhat warm, very flaky, and tasty once you got past all of the salt. The vegetables were overcooked, soggy almost. The Sweet Potato Fries were crisp and the best part of this meal. The Fajitas: Weird. Just Weird. Sizzling and weird tasting. Not bad. Not good. The beans tasted canned. The Rice was pretty good Chicken Teriyaki: Delicious! My daughter dug in too fast for a picture, but she said it was absolutely amazing. Baked Potato was perfectly baked. I eventually asked for the manager after hearing my husband complain his food was inedible. I was told by the waitress that she would give a 10% discount. I explained that was not what I was after and asked for a manager again. She claimed to be the manager. I then pointed out that she had told us she forgot about the silverware because she was talking to her manager. amI was corrected that this was the owner. I asked to speak to them and the waitress disappeared. Another waitress came by and said she was not the owner, but another manager. She heard the whole review out and offered to comp the dish that was awful. Took too much time and trouble to get someone to hear us out. I promised the manager I would give it another try next time I was in the area though. read more

Let me preface, I did not choose to go here, someone else booked a private event here, to which I was obligated to attend. It was closed to the public on a Saturday night (for a few hours anyway), yet we still ordered off of the main menu individually. However, I'm glad said person chose this joint, they did a bang up job! And, one could surmise that in a target rich environment like Angel Fire, they could have easily mailed it in, yet they didn't. The venue was nice, service was great, and the grub was awesome! I had the catfish. Two very large fillets, and the sides were spot on as well. I must admit though, the tartar sauce was a bit bland, but hey, if that's all I can find to complain about, they must be doing something right, right? This is one of those places that has probably been here for years and years and all the locals come on a regular basis. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot (and I got to see the guy stop to blow his nose on the ground before he got in his truck) but we were seated immediately. We took a few minutes to look at the menu - typical stuff - chicken fried steak & chicken, a few Mexican dishes, and some fish. We went with the daily special - chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, vegetable of the day (ummm VegAll), a roll and a trip to the salad bar. It was all acceptable . Nothing more, nothing less. Great little ski bar and grill in Angel Fire. We were in the middle of a blizzard so when most places were closing, Zebs was open and serving. Had COVID restrictions so everything was safe. Ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich and took a bite. The chicken patty was extremely cold, tasted freezer burnt and had the texture of fish. I told the waitress and asked if I could order something else. The waitress was extremely rude as if I should've known their food mirrored what should be fed to a dog. She rolled her eyes and took my replacement order (chicken tenders and fries). When my replacement order came out it look as if I was spited for not liking their "frozen chicken patty chicken fried chicken sandwich". The tenders were burnt and missing breading, there were barely any fries on the plate (literally 5) and they looked like they were sitting in the bottom of the fryer since the night before. This place needs a hospitality overhaul and could use more experienced/competent management to help train the staff on customer Interactions. Avoid this dump unless you enjoy frozen food and garbage attitudes. read more
