Tiny little Café on the strip. They have really huge pancakes if you like that sort of thing! It's Friday so we ordered the all you can eat Catfish. They brought it out and the waitress seemed completely surprised when we asked for more... weird. Well, 20 minutes later she came back and still didn't have our fish. My husband was obviously upset because we had someplace we needed to be and we needed to leave so she went to the back in five minutes later came back with one piece of fish for each of us in a brown bag. Kind of ridiculous. If you have people ordering the all you can eat you need to have fish going all the time. The Mexican grilled cheese was really good! We would definitely order that again. The cheese and onion enchiladas came out and the plate was hot, but nothing on the plate was warmer than room temperature and the cheese inside the enchiladas was not even melted. The food here was pretty good plus we had a great server. Size of the foods are quite large. One of the few breakfast spots that open early to start your day. Overall a solid food experience. Came off season when few were in town. Has a party of 5 and one went to get gas down the street quickly. Bizarrely they wouldn't seat us until we had the full party. To be fair, they had many signs on the walls noting this policy and I'm sure it's relevant in peak season, but there was only one occupied table in the entire place when we came so it seemed a bit unnecessary. We arrived around 7 am on a Friday morning. There were a couple of tables seated enjoying breakfast. Ok. I just want to say this place should be rated close to 5 stars for breakfast. Classic diner breakfast with a New Mexico flare. Had Classic Juevos Rancheros with red chili sauce. If you love pancakes, this is definitely the breakfast spot for you. They have pancakes that are so big, they could possibly win a size contest with a hub cap as an opponent. Be sure to confirm the pancake size before placing your order, you don't want to think you've order a normal size pancake and a huge one is served instead. Food Review: Pancake - giant sized pancake, fluffy and sweet, topped with whipped butter and syrup is delicious. Cheese Omelette with Sausage - omelette with cheddar cheese and chunks of sausage was average. It barely had any flavor. Hash Browns - undercooked, very bland. A sprinkle of salt did make them taste a little better. Wheat Toast - plain toast that you must butter yourself with the stiff, cold butter packets on the table. Talk about hard to spread. It was ok. Wife and I came for Pizza at 12:00 pm, the waitress was unfriendly. This is the first biker bar that has no alcohol. We ordered pizza supreme. Holy pancakes! This diner is really cool! It's small and cozy and the service was over the top! Let's talk about these pancakes, they are no joke. If you order pancakes as your meal you will get a pancake that's the size of a pizza pan! They also offer a pancake challenge, eat 3 of the monster carb overloaded suckers and you win a shirt/loot and if course, bragging rights! If you order a meal, like two eggs and meat it too can come with a small (normal sized) pancake! The food is good. I had two eggs, bacon, fruit and a choc chip pancake. We needed breakfast and this place was highly rated by friends. Upon arrival, you see the signs that require masks and social distancing. However, be aware that the entry hall is tiny (I would say maybe a 12' by 4' space with benches marked off for no sitting) and so social distancing is difficult. With four in our party, the space was crowded and if anyone else arrived, say buh bye to social distancing! We asked for an outside table for four and that's when we ran into our first bit of weirdness. The hostess told us she would have to wait ten minutes to seat us since a large table was seated just prior to our arrival so it would take a while to get our orders into the kitchen. Umm, what? I asked, "well we are fine with waiting to have our order taken, but can we at least be seated and wait at a table rather than standing here?". She didn't seem to like that idea but then another group arrived and she pretty much had no choice if she wanted to keep with social distancing requirements. We were seated outside at a large table and almost immediately, a waitress arrived to take our order. She was sweet as could be and very polite while taking our drink orders and then arrived back almost immediately with them. After a few minutes, we gave our food orders and in less than ten minutes our food arrived! However, the food arrived cold?? Not sure how that could happen since we didn't have to wait long from ordering to arrival. I had the two eggs any style (over easy) with a biscuit and add bacon and sausage gravy. Oh and don't forget a side of green chile! Others at the table had the breakfast enchiladas, huevos rancheros and the biscuits and gravy. Oh and a pancake. Let me tell you about this pancake. She told us it was big. But boy was it big. You know the large pizza takeout boxes? Yeah that's what it's served in to go and it fills it up from edge to edge. Like they used one whole box of pancake mix on that sucker. All of the food was decent but nothing to write home about or even remember. It's ok for breakfast when the choices are limited but next time, I'll see if I can find another place to try. Though I do want to try the all you can eat catfish Fridays here! I am enjoying the post-prandial meal alone. My 2nd favorite. Old Tymers is a biker-themed diner and apparently a Red River institution. It has a small dining room so weekend waits at breakfast could be long. As I walked in I saw a guy with "pancakes" bigger than dinner plates served on a pizza pan. I was tempted but the NM Omelet caught my eye on the menu. Stuffed with onions, green bell peppers, green chilies and cheese and topped with red or green chili sauce served with flour tortillas and crispy-by my request-hash browns. Only 2 hiccups. They were out of green bell pepper and I accidently ordered the green chili topping instead of the red. It was delicious and spicy. My server was great-friendly and efficient and all the servers offered refills of coffee to all the tables. Great teamwork! They offer lunch Monday through Thursday and dinner Friday & Saturday.
