I've been a summer resident for years, and one of my favorite rituals has always been stopping by this bakery early in the morning for coffee, breakfast, and a quiet moment with a book. I've had many warm memories here, often chatting with the friendly staff who made the place feel welcoming. Unfortunately, that sense of hospitality seems to have faded. I recently brought a visiting friend, excited to share a place I've enjoyed for so long, but the experience was unexpectedly unpleasant. The woman who took our order never greeted us, never smiled, and seemed bothered by our presence. There was no warmth, no care, and none of the hospitality that once made this bakery special. It's disappointing to see such a change. I won't be returning, but I'm grateful for the good memories from past summers. The coffee was mediocre at best. We also ordered a cappuccino, which was definitely not cappuccino. read more

Great food. Great service. Nice patio to dine with our pup. Cinnamon swirl French toast was great. Hash brown potatoes are fresh.

It's just average. Nothing to write home about. I personally get the readily prepared food at Lowe's Grocery store or take beans' potatoes & green enchilada sauce & top with cheese & have a great burro! Donuts are COLD because they are delivered or come out of the freezer...YUCK!! They do have a few pretty good pastries. Locals go here to socialize; that's how they stay in business!! read more

We loved this spot for breakfast. Loved the green chile on the handheld smaller breakfast burrito. We enjoyed the pancakes & the other 3 of us probably could have shared the big burrito. It bested my 14 year old, 6'2" eater - he couldn't finish and I don't know if I've seen that from him in years. We went twice while in town and enjoyed it both times! read more

We have a vacation home and this place usually is awesome. Today it was not due to the wait staff. The two young waitresses were very rude. One was exceptionally unfriendly, no smile at all. We sat down and waited 15 mins and another party came in and sat down and they got service before we did. After she took their drink order we let her know we were ready and she waved the menu at us as if to shush us and completely ignored us. We got up and left after that. If you don't like your job or people, do something online. Customer service failure. It doesn't take much to be nice. read more

One of the only (if not the only) breakfast spot in town for miles and miles! Pretty cute, homey vibe inside with friendly staff and great service. Food was pretty tasty too! Cappuccino was from the machine so it was very sweet. I'd prob recommend a reg cup of joe instead. read more

Super quaint place. Staff is friendly. Food is fresh and ready quickly. I loved listening to the locals come in and chat. You can get donuts and coffee to go OR sit and enjoy a homemade breakfast in the warmth. read more

We stopped here for a quick breakfast for the road. It's very good. The Big Breakfast Burrito lives up to its name. It's very big and filling. You can tell it was made from scratch. The green chili was great. Good coffee on top of that. read more

The good: Opens daily from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. Very attentive service, they offer complementary donuts holes once you sit, it has a warm and homie feeling. Average per person was about $12 including tip. The not so good: they have limited seating, but available for groups up to 8. Food takes a bit longer than usual to come out. One bathroom gender neutral it didn't look sparkling clean, but it was good though. The verdict: it's a great option for breakfast in town! read more

we took a drive on part of the Enchanted Circle and ended up eating at Bakery and Cafe. I was happy they had a sign on the road that said "hamburger" or we would have just driven on by as i thought it was pastries only. I was wrong as they have a great menu with lots of choices. i had the cheese enchilada as i was not very hungry and they were great. exactly as expected. i will go for a filling next time. my friend had a chicken fried steak which he orders allot and said it was very good. i would say the wait help needs some improvement but at least they had some people who were friendly and at least tried to get everything done. there is not much to offer in Angel Fire so i am happy they are here and i do hope they continue to thrive. the people with the bad reviews don't realize how hard it is to find help in these small resort towns... read more

The food is comfort breakfast food, nothing special but everything is done right- Their bakery items are super yummy. I've never had anything bad off of the menu. Service is friendly but expect to wait for a table if you see the parking lot full. One of the only places serving a true breakfast in town--which is awesome but also makes the waiting long--but worth it. Angel Fire could benefit from another breakfast spot to accommodate early risers looking to avoid the resort village Haus- but this is good news for the bakery and their business. read more

We went here for lunch twice - Our first time we had low expectations given the exterior but this turned out to be Nice local place for some authentic southwestern homey food at a locally owned family business. Great sauces to go with the burritos, huevos rancheros Today's service was excellent- we over heard the manager suggesting to the staff to go check on customers- and they did a really good job. They do have some sweets of which my kids got the croissants to go - which they subsequently devoured. Enjoy the small town experience of the way the things likely used to be. read more

The food actually looks good, but wow....the service is pretty bad. Tried to order a donut from their pastry counter....but after 10 min of standing and waiting i finally gave up. I'm fine with restaurants being slow, especially when the food is food. But there were 7 people in line behind me and all of us finally just walked out. Apathy apparently doesn't sell. read more

If you look back a couple of years, I gave The Bakery a glowing and positive report. Well, things change. This restaurant has changed hands and waitstaff, and I assume kitchen staff as well. We ate lunch there yesterday and it was a bad experience in that the fajitas that we had tasted OLD, service was just okay, and the price was crazy. Yes, I know all about inflation and price hikes. But when they charge you $3.25 for 1 smallish flour tortilla...that's nuts. We used to LOVE their food, especially breakfast, and ate there every week. It's been a few months since we visited there, and we were both so disappointed. I posted an honest and negative review for my friends on my personal FB page and got hammered by people who aren't even my friends?!?!? So this review may get me in trouble, too. We support our community in so many ways, but if you can't take criticism and improve the situation....especially when LOTS of people are saying the same thing....well, that's on you. read more

This isn't the Bakery I remember. Iced Tea and a Club sandwich shouldn't cost $17.78! That was with a modest tip. No chips or anything with the sandwich. They used to make it better also. We need a comfortable casual lunch spot in Angel Fire, alas The Bakery as we knew it is gone! read more

Stopped for breakfast due to all the good reviews. Breakfast for 5 was $102 plus tip and all the food was from the freezer section. My sausage patty was literally the same as the ones you get at Wal Mart already cooked and microwave them. Home fries were the same. For that price I think you should do some cooking, not just microwave some food. In addition the food was not very good even on TV dinner standards. read more

I've had several breakfasts and lunches at Bakery & Cafe@ Angel Fire, and overall -- given the dining options in the village -- have had good experiences. Each time we've had hard-working wait staff, usually young people, who are dealing with Covid-19 social distancing/mask requirements and hangry patrons who have big city expectations. Check those at the door, and look for the good in this place that keeps prices reasonable and lots of folks fed every day. Breakfast can be quite good and lunch options have been varied, hot and and plenty, too. Coffee and drink refills are a request away. I have not tried the pastries they sell, but they look very good in the case by the register, and someday I must try them! There can be a bit of a wait for this small place; know that going in. Be kind to the people who are taking your orders, cooking your food, and fetching whatever you need. I always wonder how they would rate you as a customer. read more

Fabulous food that's got super portions and true New Mexican flavor. We have been here before and always order the New Mexican food because we can get a burger and fries just about anywhere so why bother ordering here, right? Today Hubby got the Navajo taco with a side of posole while I got the ultimate Burrito. OMG the burrito was so huge stuffed with sausage, ham and eggs. It was smothered in gravy. Definitely so much food that I couldn't finish it. Hubby was so stuffed from his Navajo taco and posole that he could only help me with a bite and a half. We looked at the baked yummies but they were all the glazed donuts and way too sweet pastries so we passed them up for breakfast tomorrow. This place is terrible, the service is slow, the workers don't care to make any kind of good impression, the omelet had an egg shell, the corn dog was still frozen when we bit into it, all of the drinks we ordered were watered down, food tasted like school lunch. I will not be coming here again. read more
