If you are thinking about visiting Dr. Teja for orthodontic treatment, please hear my story below and strongly reconsider. I visited about 4 different orthodontists in the Seattle area before deciding on her, and I made a big mistake. My treatment began during the summer of 2022, when I was in Seattle. In January of 2023, her office unfortunately had a fire and she was forced to close and relocate her patients to other local dental offices in order to continue to provide treatment (which made scheduling very difficult). I had also been planning to move to California during March of 2023 and I let her know that I would look at local orthodontists and see if the price was going to be an issue and attempt to transfer care. After moving to California in March of 2023 I realized I would need to pay another new round of orthodontics to transfer, so I decided to remain with her office (to which she agreed). During this time I had some attachments fall off and needed to get them reattached. In October of 2023, Dr. Teja had another emergency in which a family member had passed away, causing her to be unavailable for another 3+ months. During this time, there were only 2 communications sent to me from her office, one in October and one in November. After waiting for months, I decided to reach out to her office in March of 2024, which I found out she had been back by that time unbeknownst to me. In April of 2024, I flew back from CA to get my teeth rescanned so I could get new aligners. However, her office again failed to notify me and communicate with me for the appointment until I inquired what was going on in June of 2024. At this point she told me I was being a noncompliant patient and threatened to discontinue treatment for a breach of contract. This was her way I believe of trying to get rid of me as a patient. However, it was her office that was unable to provide timely care, was completely unavailable because of her office fire, and was uncommunicative for months on end, claiming that I was being a "noncompliant patient" and further refused to continue to provide me orthodontic treatment or give me any sort of refund. I was extremely surprised and upset. I submitted a formal complaint against her through my insurance company mid-2024. They had a 3rd party orthodontist investigate my case and after months of sending in evidence of communication between us, ruled in my favor and gave me a full refund of the money insurance had paid her. Of course I was relieved but it did not take away the massive headache and unnecessary blame I took (not to mention the initial deposit I made for orthodontics and continued payments, which was unrecoverable via credit card). I do my best to be the most compliant patient as I myself am in the service industry, but this was completely unprofessional and she lacked the self-awareness until a 3rd party had to look into it. If you're on the fence of going to her office- do not. She seems nice and pleasant when you first meet her, but is totally unwilling to see the patient's perspective and gave me a terrible experience with orthodontics. There are several other providers in the area with glowing reviews which I will not name but would recommend instead. read more

My Invisalign experience with Dr Teja has caused me a lot of stress, anxiety and self doubt. 2 years with her and my teeth have the same issues I went to her for. I still have a (now uncomfortable) overbite and large gaps between my teeth that I can essentially floss with yarn. Despite pointing out these issues multiple times, her response is simply "nothing more can be done because that's just the way your teeth turned out". In my interactions with Dr Teja, she has shown zero interest in advocating for me as her patient. She gets very defensive and dismissive when asked simple questions, and has even blamed Invisalign, my dentist, or tells me "there's nothing I can do". I honestly never really know what my progress is and could only hope for the best. Attachments also fall off so many times that majority of appointments are just to fix them. As if this isn't enough, Dr Teja gave me a speech about all the work she did for what I paid by listing all my appointments, and that she should have charged me more money. I was so speechless and never felt more gaslighted in my life. I had no choice but to seek a second opinion; 4 Orthos I consulted agreed it was medically necessary to correct my teeth, and is 100% doable. I'm now paying another few thousand at a new place because of her. I wasted so much of my time, energy and money and it seriously isn't right for a medical professional to treat their patient like this. read more

I got Invisalign treatment with Dr. Teja and was incredibly satisfied by the results. In fact, I recommended her to a friend and send my husband to her once I completed treatment. I had been told for years by dentists that I needed work on my bottom teeth because my front, bottom teeth were shifting. I got quotes from three different places (two dentists and Dr. Teja). The dentists both told me I'd need top and bottom trays and that it would be $5,000+. One dentist just scanned my face using the Invisalign app and told me the information that the app said - he definitely did not seem like an expert. Dr. Teja, by contrast, is definitely an expert. She examined my teeth, took photos and measurements, and then talked me through what she would recommend for treatment and what *she* would tell *Invisalign* to do! (Not the other way around.) She only had me wear bottom trays because my treatment didn't require top trays (which was in contrast to my other two consults). And lastly, her pricing was significantly better. I'd highly recommend her. She did a great job with my teeth. read more

I got my braces removed by Dr. Teja in 2017, and the experience was great! I had braces for forever. I had originally gotten them on towards the end of 5th grade. I had lived in California at the time, and my family made the move to Washington when I was in the 7th grade. My braces weren't finished yet when we moved, so we had to find a new orthodontist for me. My parents found one on Mercer Island, and I hated going there. The dentist was an older guy, and he was always extremely grumpy and rude. I hated the experience so much, that my parents stopped taking me overall. Due to that, I was left with braces on for a total of 8 years. My parents stopped the treatment when I was a freshman or sophomore in high school, so I went 2-3 years with untreated braces. I didn't have the money to take them off, and I was always self cautious about them. People would always ask me why I didn't have any wires on them, or when I was getting my braces off. When I was old enough to make my own money, I decided that I would invest in taking the braces off to feel more confident. I know that I wouldn't be able to commit to finishing the treatment, and I thought that my teeth were fine. I had been stuck with them for 8 years, and I was ready to part ways with them. I had contacted several orthodontics in the downtown Seattle area, and they all quoted me over $1000 for the removal! Which didn't even include retainers. The most expensive quote I got was for $1600 without retainers. When Dr. Teja's office quoted me for $850 with retainers, which also included a complimentary year of checkups, I knew that I wouldn't find a better deal than that. I scheduled an appointment with her office staff, and they were really helpful with working around my crazy work schedule. At the last minute when something came up and I had to reschedule, they were extremely understanding about it. As Dr. Teja was about to work on my mouth, I had gotten a semi important phone call. She noticed my phone ringing, and was kind enough to let me answer the phone call before getting to work on me. After I finished my phone call, she proceeded to remove the brackets and she sanded away the leftover glue on my teeth. After everything was done, I scheduled a follow up appointment to get impressions done for my retainer. The impressions went well, and the person assisting me was very clear about the process. I picked up my retainers the following week, and they fit perfectly. If it weren't for Dr. Teja, I would've spent a lot more money on something as simple as taking brackets off. I don't understand how other places can get away with charging over $1,000 just to remove them. I've had braces twice in my life, and I currently have two permenant retainers... (yeah, my teeth like to move around, or so it seems). I first got a referral from my dentist for another orthodontist. Didn't like his tableside/bedside manner, his course of treatment, and his prices were higher. Went to Dr. Teja for a consult on recommendations from several friends who were born and raised here and have seen her for both adolescent and adult orthodontia work. She, and her staff, were extremely warm, easy to work with. She listened to my concerns, and presented three options for treatment, all within market range. I personally have been very unhappy with Dr. Teja and her professionalism. 3 yrs ago I went to her for a SECOND Opinion. I had put money down with an ortho in Redmond who said my situation can only be corrected by doing implants. My bite was perfect, the only issue I had were a few gaps in the front that bothered me and crowding on my lower teeth. (Please refer to my review for Dr. Randy Weisz as a complete pic of what my experience was can also be found there) Dr Zeeny said that I didn't need implants and that she can have a dentist fatten my teeth that would fix the gap situation and she would do the rest. I was to only have 4 teeth bonded (fattened) and my process would be done in approximately 1 year. 2 years into the treatment she claimed I was done. At this both my dentist friend and Dr Weisz ( two dentists) scoffed. My bite was off and I now had more prominent gaps than when I started. Granted she isn't a magician but how can you claim to be done leaving a client worse off than she started? Than she had the nerve to tell me "well you didn't give us a full set of teeth to work with". She also said and "you didn't want implants", No kidding Sherlock, thought that was why I came to you as you said you could fix it without the implants you said. I lost money at the other Ortho drove all the way from East side to seattle and signed with your office because you said I didn't need implants. I didn't want to argue at that point as I was hoping she would fix it but I was so so so disappointed when done. 3 years later when my braces came off my teeth looked worse than when I started. It was horrible. Dr Weisz had to fatten 9 teeth and grind my teeth to bring back my bite which was perfect before the procedure had began with Dr Zeeny. I am outraged. And she isn't someone you can talk to because She is intimidating and she is definitely not humble so wont ever accept that she can go wrong. She tried to show me how my smile looks great, no kidding again, that's all Dr. Weisz. I can show you pictures of the Mock fattening before my braces, my smile was just as wide. Yes she corrected my lower teeth but for my upper, more damage was done than good. She maybe great for kids as kids don't know what they want and don't complain. But I would never recommend her for adults. I am hurt and feel I wasted all my money, time and energy. The money I gave her I could have given for Veneers and been happier with result. I work very very very hard for my money and feel shortchanged with what she did. Thank God she has good dentists she works with that can help cover up all her flaws. Oh and I forgot to add, Dr Weisz comment along the lines of "I wanted to tell you that I could have done the work without you getting ortho but because Dr. Teja referred you to me, I couldn't say anything". On another occasion he said "Usually Dr Teja is really good not sure what happened, every time she tried something your smile would collapse". "remember when she said you were done I came in there and said no this doesn't look right". Dr. Teja has a very aggressive and intimidating demeanor, she has a way of subtly coercing people to agree with her or its the highway. I am sure she gave Dr. Weisz an earful after I told her I was unhappy and I briefly told her my conversation with Dr. Weisz. She right way told me that she was going to call him and talk to him. I feel bad for Dr. Weisz, he is a gentle kind doctor and I am certain Dr. Teja must have been super rude to him! Sad ending! Sorry Dr. Weisz for telling her, but she needed to know she wronged me, was unprofessional and unethical! Hopefully she will learn to soften up and start taking constructive criticism without raising her voice and being so defensive. read more

We love this orthodontic practice! We leave our own neighborhood to travel to Queen Anne, even though there are two other orthodontic offices closer to our house. Why? Personal service and expertise. As a parent, I did not make this choice alone. My teens were approaching their second phase of braces and we thought we'd try another office than the one we went to previously. Not because we were dissatisfied, rather, just to try it out. My kids love Dr. Teja and her staff and after the first free consultation, immediately wanted to make the change. We've been here a few months now and I recently my kids on a scale of 1-10 how they'd rate their experience over their prior orthodontist so far. They gave Dr. Teja's office a 9, and would have given a 10 except for the decreased convenience of being further away from home. The difference for them is the personal attention. The staff here remember the kids, and the conversations and interests of the kids. They truly demonstrate warmth and caring. That mattered to my teens. And, of course, we have every confidence in the Dr. and staff's teeth straightening know-how! We are kept well-informed of the whys and hows and choices of the treatment and our concerns and preferences are taken into account. This orthodontic practice is a good match for us. read more

Dr. Teja and her staff are incredible. I am a post-orthognathic surgery patient (1 year post-op) who moved to Seattle from North Carolina in March. I was still in braces when I moved to Seattle and was planning to get the braces off in April during a trip back to North Carolina. My power chain broke over one of the brackets a couple weeks before I returned to North Carolina, and my teeth were starting to shift a bit. Dr. Teja worked with my orthodontist in North Carolina to see me immediately to replace the chain. After I got the braces off in North Carolina in April, I had some issues with my retainers. Again, she saw me to resolve those issues and even make me another retainer. She and her staff have been so friendly, warm, and helpful. I cannot stress how great they are. read more

Yesterday my dentist finished porcelain veneer work on my two front teeth. What an intricate process and precise work that has been! I am ecstatic how my teeth look! In order to arrive at this "grand finale" I worked with Dr Zeeny Teja for 15 months wearing invisalign trays that she designed for each stage of my teeth movement. Dr Teja was recommended by my dentist who said: "she does precise work, she is thorough in her line of work and when you are finished with wearing invisilign, your bite and teeth will be perfect for my veneer work." While Dr Teja worked with me, I was always treated with much care, kindness and could come in at any time that worked for my work and life schedule. I went to Zeeny Teja for adult braces about 2004. She fitted me with braces with the understanding that I would need jaw surgery to correct the alignment for my teeth to be completely straight. Well, after a while she said I was ready for surgery, that my teeth would fit together after my jaw alignment was corrected. I scheduled surgery, arranged for time off work, bought a plane ticket for my dad to care for me during recovery. The surgeon took pre sugery molds of my teeth, and discovered that my teeth were not positioned right to have the surgery at that time. No apologies from Dr Teja, and when I asked for compensation for a canceled plane ticket, she told me "the surgeon canceled the surgery". I got referred to a top rated ortho by the surgeon who eventualy did my surgery about 2 years later. read more

Dr. Teja and her staff are fantastic! We have been so happy with the quality of service and the progress our kids have made. One of my kids was angry and kind of hostile when we went in for our first consultation. He was determined not to have braces and she was so sweet and friendly but also firm with him.
