I had to cancel one of my appointments at the same day and they charged me $50 for a late cancellation. I understand this policy in general but this isn't how you would treat a customer that has been their patient for 8 years. They didn't even ask why I had to cancel or skip the late cancellation fee for loyal patients. The entire staff is personable, professional, non-judgmental, and understanding, while their facilities are state-of-the-art. I have been coming here for orthodontic work and I have been very satisfied with working with Dr. Brie. She is very knowledgeable and has a close relationship with her patients (compared to doctors who see numerous patients each day). Dr. Brie is committed to establishing and maintaining a good relationship with her patients, which makes the orthodontic process not as horrible. I am currently doing the Invisalign process and check in periodically with Dr. Brie. I enjoy Invisalign as many people don't know that you even have them on! In terms of the office, it is very quiet inside and they offer beverages to their patients (like bottled water). read more

I am still sitting in their lobby waiting for my ride post op but I couldn't wait to post a review. I was referred to this clinic by two friends of mine who work for the teaching center associated with this clinic. After breaking my perfectly healthy tooth on a piece of pizza several surgeons refused to do the impant surgery because of the location of my sinus nerve. I met with Dr. Dean Kois and he instantly made me feel at ease. He told me I was a candidate for surgery and I scheduled my appointment several months out. I work in healthcare so I hold the practitioners and practices I seek care at to very high standards. This clinic exceeded my expectations. Stacey at the front desk/ financial department is one of a kind. She is genuine, knowledgeable, considerate and really helps you feel at ease when scheduling, making payments and planning future care. I was told the surgery would take about an hour. My boyfriend dropped me off to go get his teeth cleaned down the road. My "complicated" surgery took him less than 30 min! Faster than it took my boyfriend to get his teeth cleaned. Getting oral surgery is not fun at all, but I wouldn't think twice about doing it over again if Dr. Kois was preforming the surgery. Becki his assistant was top notch. I had a panic attack before showing up because surgery is scary! No matter how routine. She had the most amazing bed side manor, answered all of my questions and really helped me get comfortable pre and post op. They are an incredible team. Overall this is the best experience I have ever had at a dental clinic. So much so that I am going to have them place my crown rather than my normal dentist. I'm even going to fully transfer all my care here for routine cleaning and visits. I really love my old dentist, but I am confident there isn't any other dentist that comes close to the experience and service they offer here. I am so thankful and so appreciative I found this place. Dr. Kois does everything you'd expect from your dentist, but also so much more. Since I switched jobs about three years ago, I had not been very good about finding a new dentist. I found Dr. Kois through a friend but was still apprehensive about going in, as past dentists have been quick to tell me about all of the things wrong with my mouth. That wasn't the case at all with Dr. Kois and his staff - they were able to get me in quickly, took good care of me, and didn't try in any way to nickel and dime me for excessive treatments. They made it clear they care about my well being and clearly explained the treatment plan they thought made the most sense moving forward. What really sold me on Dr. Kois, however, was his willingness to accept an emergency weekend appointment after only seeing me one time. He picked up my call Sunday morning and was in his office just a couple of hours later to help me out. As long as I'm a Seattle resident, I'll be seeing Dr. Kois for my dental needs. read more

Before I went to Kois Dentistry it had been 2 years since I had seen a dentist. I had a lot of anxiety about finding and seeing a new dentist. For my age, I've had a good amount of work done on my teeth. I was very, very nervous as I had no idea if I needed more work done to fix any issues (a previous dentist did a poor job on one of my crowns). I just had my first visit and looking back on it, there was nothing to be worried about. Everyone at Kois Dentistry is amazing. They made me feel relaxed and none of them were judgmental. Dr. Dean Kois thoroughly examined every inch of my mouth and it turned out my teeth were in great shape...I just needed a cleaning. The dentist and staff doing the dental work are good. However, verify whether they are in network for your insurance. They claimed they were for mine but turns out they were in network for a different plan with the same provider, thus i had to spend more out of pocket than necessary. Additionally, after getting dental work done I scheduled a routine cleaning six months later. No one on the staff mentioned I had already used my annual allowance thus I had pay for the cleaning out of pocket (I probably would not have gotten it done had I known). Beware! read more

As someone who suffers from slight dental anxiety, I can say with ease Dr. Kois will be my dentist for as long as I'm in the Seattle area. He is friendly, informative, and gentle in his approach. Due to multiple complications caused by a previous Edmonds dentist in 2016, I've searched and consulted 9 dentists/prosthodontists over 9 months across the greater Seattle area and out of state. I was told by many of these dentists that Seattle has one of the best dental care professionals in the nation. But repeatedly, these top dentists have backed down on my case (after taking my money) and told me there is nothing they can do to help me but to accept life. Over one breakfast, my teeth were acting up again. I searched frivolously on the 'net for yet more dentists to see if there is anyone else I haven't visited. I don't remember how I came across the Kois Dentistry in Seattle's South Lake Union district, but I decided to phone in just to chat about my situation. From the first moment I spoke to receptionist Su, she provided the utmost attention-to-detail responses to my inquiries, and was able to set up an appointment to see Dr. Dean Kois within the week. Having been deeply depressed over my unfixable teeth for so many months, I managed to drag myself into Kois Dentistry, repeating the by-now fluid process of filling out paperworks and go through explaining my problems with the dental assistant, Michelle. Then enters Dr. Dean Kois. Right from the get go I noticed Dr. Dean is a lefty, just like me. Perhaps lefties think alike, I felt an immediate connection to this friendly and humorous man. Dr. Dean not only understood every bit of my concerns, his responses and diagnosis were spot on in pinpointing the false works and undiagnosable symptoms which the previous 8 dentists turned me away for. Even though at the time I have completely lost faith in all dentists and their untrustworthy practices, Dr. Dean managed to bring me out from the bottom of the well, and patiently laid out clear plans to help solve all my dental problems. Over the course of one month, I visited Dr. Dean every week to slowly and meticulously fix previous mistakes put in by the other dentist. I was amazed by the feathery touch, quick and confident hands, and at times, much needed reassurances Dr. Dean provided. While he is great at turning sour experiences into lighthearted jokes, as soon as a serious inquiry is asked, he would address the concerns in the most professional and in-depth manner. In the end, Dr. Dean gave my life back after 9 dark months. I'm very grateful to have come across the Kois Dentistry, and is delighted to have Dr. Dean as my permanent dentist in Seattle. read more

Hate going to the dentist and always have. The entire practice, which is a family business, works to whatever your needs are. They're industry leaders and pioneers to a number of procedures and innovating, game changing tools and technologies. I have had check ups, gum grafts and a chipped tooth fixed. Interestingly enough, with the chipped tooth, I had had two previous dentists attempt to fix this, only to the have the filling come out weeks later. I have had the installed by Dr. Kois for a year now. I can recommend this practice without reservation. The Center is located on the shores of South Lake Union, beautiful and a great excuse to have a good lunch after getting your teeth cleaned. Dr. Kois has helped me on multiple occasions, and I felt that his level of knowledge, care, and service were so good that I sent my father to go see him with a difficult scenario. I just left the dentist and while I was sitting in the chair I was thinking to myself about how long I've been seeing Dr. Dean and how awesome he is and that I should write a yelp review, I'm not one to write many reviews but they deserve it. I have been to many dentists trying to find "the one" and was lucky enough to have Dr. Kois recommended to me. I love them all there! Dr. Dean has a great sense of humor, great "chair side manner", does an amazing job and has NEVER made me feel bad about the condition my mouth was in when I first started seeing him. It always makes me feel good to hear positive comments between doctor and assistant while they are working on my mouth. I grew up with not so great dental habits and poor dental work that was disastrous for the long term. Dr. Dean has been working with me for a few years to correct the damage and always at my pace. I can't recommend them enough they are that amazing. And this wouldn't be a complete review if I didn't mention Dana my hygienist, she is amazing too. So sweet, gentle, caring, and funny.
