My dentist left to return to his hometown. Somehow I was referred to Laurelhurst Family Dentistry. A bit of a crapshoot. However after my initial visit to have my teeth cleaned and a checkup, I left feeling pretty darn glad with the new dentist! The technology at this office is amazing. X-rays, CAT scan, video of my mouth. I felt confident that every possible problem was detected. The hygienist was very efficient and personable. Dr Slagle came in and gave me a great overview of my dental situation. He's a young and well trained dentist. I knew I had an old filling that needed replacing. He immediately spotted that and we made an appointment to replace it. I returned today for that appointment. Went perfectly smoothly and pain free. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes. I highly recommend this dentist. I'm so happy we got referred to him. read more

This is the worst experience at a dentist i've ever had. They have holes in the seats, and overall a very dirty practice. They also sold my number and right after I left I received 40 text messages with random dentist surveys from other dentists besides this one... VERY STRANGE. This office has been rotating dentists over the past 2 years (no surprises there). Each time I have visited, I confirmed they still accepted my insurance. I receive a bill from my insurance telling me that I have a balance due. I called my insurance and they inform me I was not covered on one particular visit. This morning I get an early morning call informing me and the rude woman in charge of billing tells me that the office was not aware that the new doctor was still getting things sorted and my insurance was not covered. Now I'm stuck paying for my services out of pocket after their failure to ensure they had what they need to proceed. DO NOT GO HERE. You've been warned. read more

This place feels like an insurance scam to me. The staffing - including the dentist - changes from appointment to appointment. Procedures seem unnecessary, including, in my case, ordering three visits for an annual teeth cleaning. After I arrived for the second visit they told me they could no longer serve me because I had "high blood pressure" (I don't). This impacted my insurance and forced me to wait 6 months before I could make an appointment with a different dentist for a cleaning. Since then, I get regular texts and phone calls asking me to make another appointment with them, though I've told them to stop contacting me 5 times. Stay away. read more

Terrible. Over the course of 4 months, they have cancelled 4 consecutive dental appointments I have made for my daughter and I, even after confirming them with me the week before. Each time they cancel, 2+ months for the next appointment. Parking is a mess in this area of town, and the dental building a rabbit warren. Avoid. read more

SO unprofessional. Cancellation day before an appointment I had made WEEKS ago. Cancellation was not for any reason other than the office manager mistake-suddenly the day before they call to tell me the "doctor does not take new patients on Thursday's." I had an amazing appointment with Dr Slagle and Rita! Made the appointment online at 10pm the day before as a new patient, super easy. I've had some horrible dental experiences which left me not going to the dentist for a few years. Everyone here was so nice and friendly! I haven't gotten any bill yet so hoping I don't have any billing issues like other reviews. But if all goes well I hope to continue seeing them as long as i can! :) read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have worked in medical billing and insurance, so when going I made sure they took my insurance. They said yes, I had no issues, then 6 months after I stopped going they call and tell me I owe $5,000 and my insurance isn't paying anything so I have to. I call my insurance, turns out they put in the wrong insurance and were billing everything to the wrong insurance! After getting that figured out, they call and tell me I still owe over $1,000. I call my insurance and they said they never submitted documentation/X-rays for my claims so they couldn't be covered. This is 100% the offices duty and responsibility. After having them sent in, now half of my procedures aren't being covered. I called insurance and they told me the office was in network for one procedure, but was out of network for the procedure I had a week earlier. As someone who worked in insurance/billing for a doctor, this is not how network policies should go. They are also trying to charge me $100 more for the same procedure that's not being covered since they said it's "out of network". I called the office to ask about it and they said they would have their insurance specialist look into it and get back to me in a FEW WEEKS! I am absolutely livid, disappointed to say the least. Office staff was also very unprofessional in the past when I insisted I didn't owe them large amounts of money because of THEIR mistakes. Do not go here!!!!! read more

Bad quality dentistry. Used to be better but after their primary dentist changed everything went downhill. Will do damage to your teeth, not fix anything, and pretend they didn't just make things worse. Do not go under any circumstance. read more

Strongly recommend avoiding this dentist, particularly for Invisalign treatment. When I started treatment for Invisalign, I was told the total amount I would owe and paid up front. I received a bill a year later asking for $1200, of which $750 was for an optional tool that was not covered by insurance (and was never mentioned as such during treatment). Beyond that, right after I started treatment they were not able to serve me at the Laurelhurst location and I was forced to drive 30 minutes for each appointment in Kirkland. This was never shared with me before I paid and started treatment. There are so many other dentists in the area - choose wisely! I have found a great new dentist in the area. read more

I had a great appointment with Dr. Shen and Jayson. It wasn't painful at all and they used up to date equipment to take x-rays and perform scans of my teeth and gums. After my appointment my mouth wasn't sore at all, like I've had from other dentists. I recommend 10/10. read more

I am so disappointed for their recent down spiral services. They booked you and then cancelled you a day before due to short staffed. Finally I went to my long-wait appointment, but was kept waiting for one hour and was then sent home because they were not able to put me on their busy schedule (why booked me at the first place then?!). Third time I went there, thinking 3 has to be the lucky chime, guess what, after put me through the anesthesia procedure (about 10 minutes), I was left in the room for 30 minutes+ already... still waiting, I thought of leaving but with the numb gums and the needles hassles, I am stuck here now. Whoever is managing this place, can you do a better job? Either hire more staff or accept less patients, can do both at the same time!!!! Don't you think people have nothing to do just wasting our time here for your exploitation? read more

Rarely do I leave reviews, but this place was absolutely wonderful! Cheka, the patient coordinator, was kind on the phone and in person. She was very warm and welcoming and made the process super easy. The assistant Jayson was extremely personable and comforted me with my anxieties. He was super funny and made me laugh. Dr. Wilma was by far the best dentist I've ever had. She was caring and made sure I was always comfortable. Overall, I highly recommend this place! The care that I received was the best. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL BILLING PRACTICES: The other reviews here regarding the billing experience mirror my own. When I changed insurance carriers a year ago, I called the office to ask whether they accepted my new plan. I spoke to the front desk and a manager and was reassured that a standard cleaning would be covered. At my appointment (where a new doctor Dr. Huang showed up, I was never told Dr. Shen left the practice) I was also told I had no balance when I asked them to check my insurance coverage before I had the cleaning. A couple weeks later, they texted me they don't take my insurance and I owe $400. I replied with the situation and they said they would look into it because it was their fault. Six months later, after no contact, they told me I have to pay now or be sent to collections. She offered to make it go away if I paid half, so that's what I ended up doing. I actively worked to avoid this situation and it seems I am not alone in this experience. In addition, be careful of boosted google reviews, it seems as though 30+ people suddenly gave 5 star reviews "two days ago" which seems like disingenuous reviews to me to dilute all the 1 star real experiences. Please read reviews on exactly what happened to some of us. Please be careful going here and maybe get them to confirm in writing that your insurance will be accepted before getting treatment or else you may end up being liable. read more

Dr. Shen is a wonderful dentist. Her number one priority is your comfort. She is extremely knowledgeable and provide a gentle touch when working on your mouth. The office is lovely with nice big windows. I recommend Dr. Shen if you're looking for a great dentist! read more

Dr. Chelsea Petisme is amazing! She is funny, comfortable to talk to about your dental health, and works hard to make sure you're mentally and physically ready to receive your dental work, which for me is important, as I am not the biggest fan of getting dental work. My whole family sees her, including my two young daughters, and they love her as well! I highly recommend Dr. Petisme! read more
