I was just a little boy growing up with my grandparents in Startup through the 80s and 90s with Zeke's as a staple of my childhood. Now a middle-aged family man, I get to travel back to where I grew up from time to time and let all my own kids share the experience. It's special. It's a legacy kind of place. And it's still delicious, after all these decades.

Nice drive in with fast service and good food. I prefer the French fries over the onion rings. The batter on the onion rings were a little too thick. They have a separate dining area from the order/pick up window. Good prices, cash preferred to support locally but they accept cards

First off, the location was really nice. Being a decent burger spot before going through the pass, I was happy to say I can come here again. The food opinion below is my opinion based on what we got. Chicken gizzards: not great , for us too much flour. The burger with au jus: it was a little salty, and to dip it in au jus made it not worth getting the dip. The bread was nice and soft, and the burger patty was cooked perfectly. The bacon cheese burger: it was decent. Liked how we were able to add items to it that were available on the menu The rhubarb shake: one of the best milk shakes I have ever had. Customer service: On point, keep up the amazing work!

Fun little place, the deluxe burger was a little surprising with relish on it but hey live it up. Friendly staff, good food, and beautiful scenery. Keep up the good work.

The mozzarella sticks were very good! Lots of different milkshakes to pick from. Didn't have to wait too long for our food. Only thing keeping if from 5 stars was the one very long hair in the fries

Zeke's is a must stop every time our family goes over the mountains on highway 2. We always plan our trip around stopping here for lunch! Hadn't been in a year or two, we went last weekend and I was pleasantly surprised that their prices have stayed SO affordable, which can rarely be said in this economy! We fed our family of 5 for under $40, which I call a WIN for eating a delicious lunch out. The food is consistently good. Service is quick, usually even when they're busy. It's a nice break from the car to eat outside at one of their picnic tables, and they have an indoor dining room for when the weather is iffy.

Great little burger dive. Has shakes and burgers. Options for American, Swiss, jalapeños, bacon, onion, lettuce, tomato. Also has a fish sandwich that is a big piece of fish. Shrimp and chips were delish. Lots of different shake flavors and you can mix and match. Has picnic tables outside or some inside for cover. Prefer cash but take credit card. Also has delish frozen lemonade. You order at one window and pick up at another. Garden burger and grilled cheese were the only veggie options. Also had a Reuben but we didn't try. Also had a corn dog, hot dog, and kids meals as options.

The onion rings are completely tasteless and super greasy. Shakes are really small and cost as much as a large anywhere else.

I've been here 4 times and every single time my order is incorrect; 3/4 times, I get home and find out it's incorrect and disappointed and live too far to go back for them to correct. 1 time, we decided to eat there because the little side room was unlocked, available, warm and cozy, so we were able to rectify the order while still on-site. The girls ringing in the order need training on how to use the POS System and ring in exactly what is being ordered. I've been in the restaurant industry for almost 30 and I am fully aware by adding bacon or cheese to something, there is going to be an up charge. After asking if said additional items can be added, advised "yes, of course" and confirming okay, I would like the mushroom burger with added bacon and the cashier confirms and repeats back to me exactly that, it's very disappointing to receive my order, that is now incorrect because it was not what was ordered. To then be confronted by the nasty curmudgeon owner, after I've nicely asked if they can add said missing items, talking down to us, saying we have to pay for added items, bacon and cheese aren't free... no shit, Sherlock. That's what we ordered, EXPECTING and ASSUMING to pay - it's not our fault your employees doesn't ring the items in correctly AFTER confirming yes AND REPEATING OUR (correct) ORDER BACK TO US. Should not be talking to anyone in such away, especially paying customers! How about train your employee to take orders and ring in items CORRECTLY.

As for my overall experience well FRANK WAS DISAPPOINTED! Let me share with you why cause it's a cautionary tail of laziness and small town stupidity. Ok people let's take a journey. I decided to try a new place to try on a Sunday for a meal. I'd saved Bubbas in my YELP to try list. Now I drove 45 mins just to spend some time and enjoy a Bubba's meal, so I was all in. Well, I grabbed a table in the bar and look at menu. I asked about the country fried steak and the dude taking my order says " NO " claiming it's after 12 and no more. HELLO dude the clock on wall showed 10 mins to 12! It threw me off my thoughts and I ordered a burger m. But after a minute I said gargoyle can I change my order to country fried steak. " NO " is what he then says ( WTF ) really dude. Just cause you imputed into computer which you claimed doesn't mean you can't walk back 5ft to the kitchen and change things for a customer. And with a glib response next he utters "well you can come back for it"! NOT HAPPENING DUDE! Meal comes and well it's no burger worth bragging about. McDonald's has more to offer in the way of taste. So my burger looks great and tastes like a shoe... I finished up and drove off disappointed I now have the drive of shame back to Seattle. What a rip cause I could have been eating chicken fried steak. Oh well that's my story about a meal down the tubes...

The staff are sweet and kind. And the food, this is one of the best breakfast spots I've ever been to in my life apart from Ludi's in Seattle. The food is special. I ordered the Big Chief and it was phenomenal. The gravy was of something else my partner describes it as a cheesy béchamel. It was delicious. And the cinnamon roll. Are you kidding me!!! Oh I wish I had one in front of me right now. The cinnamon roll bread was so fresh and baked to perfection where it had this chewy middle. Trust me it was properly baked. And the icing is everything. They laid it on heavy and I thought damn that's going to be over powering however it was so light, airy, buttery and not too sweet. I don't know who's cooking back there but just know it's been two months and I still talk about this place. I thought I would be going back for the cabin. No, I'll be going back for this. We just viewed it like maybe they are training new hires the younger waitress seemed to lack experience. The restaurant business is tough especially in a smaller town off highway 2. We are willing to be patient...Why? We LOVE the AWESOME food and BIG portions! We couldn't resist and came back in 2 days. The service and food were quicker and still equally amazing. But it's worth the wait!! If they sometimes forget to fill up our coffee cup, we just mention it and they jumped on it. For one waitress and one assistant running the show, we were quite impressed! The food: The omelettes are the chubbiest and packed and made with care. Every bite was piping hot we enjoyed it so much! Even though they use some frozen veg, it was still delish and we liked the cauliflower in there it was a neat mild flavor and texture. The hashbrowns are plentiful and the perfect consistency maybe slightly thicker would be my only critique. I personally like lots of fluffiness inside the crispy outside. Still good. We left feeling very full and happy. The coffee is hot and fresh tasting. When it's nice outside, you get a lovely view of the mountains and trees. Even though we are from Monroe, it felt like being on vacation somewhere far far away. We saw this big table of people with lunch items and they looked amazing too. Heaping piles. They have a diner counter area by the kitchen. The main dining is one open area with lots of booth seating. We thought they can totally fit more tables and add some partitions to offer more privacy. It's nice and clean everywhere including the bathrooms. Heard they serve homemade pies? Wow! Don't sleep on this place it deserves five gold bars!!

My partner got the avocado omelette, it came with toast and hash browns. We were surprised by how fluffy and soft the toast was, definitely the best toast we've had at any breakfast spot. He said the omelette was tasty too. We also grabbed some coffee and pastries before we left. I had a spicy German sausage and a chocolate bar, my partner got an apple fritter and an apple pull apart. I had the chocolate bar later after our hike. It was sweet and fluffy, not too heavy since I had it with coffee. Then I had the German sausage for dinner. The sausage was actually spicy, not just a mild black pepper kind of American European spicy, but a real deal spicy. I loved it! Staffs in the bakery were very friendly and attentive too.
