Excellent choice of several reasonable options. Was there with my granddaughter and family of five recently.

Very dated - needs renovation. Food okay. People very nice. Really really needs a huge face lift!

I like the food, the ambiance and the views. Also I've always had good service. Especially fond of their burgers & rubens.

A lot of cafes in and around the greater Asheville area have a similar vibe. Small, hip, no frills, friendly and welcoming. You'll notice all the framed rave reviews on the wall inside and the website boasts its 16 year reign as #1 restaurant in Brevard, and the menu definitely lives up. We started with the Bavarian Pretzel (which was actually recommended to us by the server at the chocolate shop across the alleyway.) It was very much the right way to go. The pretzel is adorned with several meats, slices of cheese, picked veggies (the pickled okra is amazing!) and some dipping sauces. You could come just for this, a few drinks and maybe another app and have a wonderful time! However you'd miss the delicious entrees. I got the Brunswick stew which was heavenly. My son loved his cedar plank salmon, said it was one of this favorite salmon preps he's ever had. The ambiance on the patio was pleasant with the hanging plants. The restaurant feels like a hidden gem as you have to travel one of the side alleys to find it. But locals seem to have no problem finding their award winning fave. If you're visiting town, this restaurant is definitely a winner. Plus there are some great shops to stroll nearby before or after.

For dinner I had the southwest blackened chicken Cobb salad which was very good as well. Prices were a little up there, but not too crazy. Service was a little slow (they were pretty busy at the time we went) but the server was well educated on the menu. The restaurant was nicely appointed, comfortable and they have a separate room for their bar.

The property where this horseshoe farm sits is just so beautiful. We parked at the spa and walked to the silo restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted immediately and took a seat by the fireplace while waiting for my parents to arrive. We then ordered a drink and went and sat on the patio since they were running just a little bit late. Upon arrival, we were greeted once again by our waitress that took our order and kept our water and tea filled to the brim. We ordered the soup of the day and shared the Lamburgesa. The soup was served piping hot and broth was delicious. The lamb was so flavorful, but we opted to have the jalapenos on the side. My parents ordered the Broad Burger and were equally pleased.

This restaurant was a mile away and we decided to stop there first. It's a bit of a drive from the N Rigby entrance to the the cookhouse but a beautiful ride with green fields and a stunning view of Mt. Pisgah. We were greeted by a hostess who brought us to the porch in the rear. The first thing I noticed was the sound of many voices to both sides. It was more obvious upon entering that there were multiple groups seated at both sides along community tables. We were seated in the middle of the table to the right and chose to sit across from each other. Our server, Kara, was pleasant and helpful. We ordered from the brunch menu we were given by the hostess. I ordered the scrambled egg bowl and enjoyed the best tasting egg flavor I've had in a long time. The greens, pickled onions, feta cheese and other vegetables complimented the dish perfectly. My partner wasn't sure about ground lamb ( since there are several renditions of it) but took a chance with the lamb burger and was glad she did. The fries that came with it we shared; they were crispy as we like them. She ordered a virgin bloody Mary and enjoyed it. That said the Worcestershire sauce flavor was quite pronounced and it might not be to everyone's liking. We have had several lunches and brunches over the last several days and this was the least $. I think we adjusted to the sound level after a few minutes and did strike up a conversation with some folks who came in after we did and sat nearby.

The atmosphere is cozy, low-lit, and perfect for date night, a celebration, or honestly just when you want a really good meal with phenomenal service. It's not huge, and judging by how packed it was when we arrived, I'd definitely recommend reservations. We had one of the later seating times near closing, but the place was still buzzing. There's even a second room with a gorgeous long bar that gives off upscale neighborhood hangout vibes. Service was flawless from the start. We were seated immediately and had water in our glasses within minutes. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and somehow had us in and out in about 40 minutes without ever making us feel rushed. That's an art form. Drink-wise, my boyfriend was happy to find some local beers after our brewery-hopping adventure earlier in the day. I ordered a cocktail that sounded good and asked if they could make it spicy... maybe throw in some jalapeños or something. They didn't just accommodate, they elevated. They swapped in a spicy-infused spirit, and it paired perfectly with my wood-fired roasted corn pizza topped with cilantro and jalapeño crema. Absolute flavor bomb that paired perfectly! My boyfriend's meatloaf with mushrooms and mashed potatoes was equally impressive. No notes, just clean plates. We started with the ceviche, and it was outstanding. Fresh, bright, and so flavorful that we started dipping our homemade pita into it. Speaking of the pita, that was honestly my only minor miss (and it wasn't even a miss lol). As a carb enthusiast, I wanted a little more salt and flavor, but that's nitpicking in what was otherwise an exceptional meal. Hearth & Herron is the kind of place every small town wishes it had. Thoughtful food, top-notch service, and an atmosphere that punches way above its weight class. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Hendersonville and recommend you do the same!

Everything about this place was absolutely exceptional. Starting with service! The woman that greeted us when we came in and took our order, is one of the sweetest ladies ever. I just kept telling my husband after each small interaction with her "oh my gosh I just love her". It's an incredibly warm and inviting space, and I wish we lived closer just to be able to experience that alone more often. But lord have mercy, the food? They knocked it out of the park!!! They have a huge menu with all sorts of stuff that you don't see super often. We got the Chicago dog, the BBQ burger, the sweet potato fries, onion rings, and a blackberry shake. Those sweet potato fries will have me dreaming about them until I can make my way back here. There's no amount of praise to do this place justice! All I can say is, if you haven't tried stopping by here for a meal, you absolutely need to!

Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant had a run down diner vibe. You could probably pare it down to $20 a person but that is still bonkers for sandwich and fries. I don't think we will be back but glad we tried it for sure!
