Brooks Tavern was one of those places we almost overlooked, but I'm so glad we didn't. Completely unassuming from the outside, but wow... this ended up being one of the best smash burgers we've had. Perfectly crispy edges, juicy, and just done right. And the nachos with beer cheese... insane!!!! Like actually so good. Every bite had something on it, nothing sad or dry about it. Classic American fare provided with top notch service in a quaint remodeled storefront just off Main Street I highly recommend the house made chips with ranch and the house made pickles are amazing. Overall, the experience was just okay. The food was the biggest disappointment. The fish came out soggy, and the fries were the same way--so soft and limp I couldn't eat them. The buffalo chicken egg rolls were honestly pretty gross; the only thing you could taste was a heavy smoke flavor, and the menu never mentioned anything about smoke at all. On the positive side, the beet cheese dip was actually really good, and the service was friendly and attentive. Very quaint pub like restaurant and bar that is enchanting. Feels like an establishment you would see in London. The Hand cut fries are great. The sandwich and salads were delicious. Back again yesterday and tried some new things. Loved the chicken Caesar wrap, it was a nice light meal and added the homemade chips as well. Husband had the chicken fingers and fries and said the chicken was really good and not greasy at all. The diet cokes were better this time and we also had Sarah as our server, she was so sweet and friendly she seemed like she was all alone and waiting on all of the tables inside and out. We sat outside because it was so busy there wasn't room and she did not forget about us ever. She made sure our drinks were always filled and we had everything we needed. She even brought us to go drinks when we were done. We have been going to Hendersonville for many years and just discovered this restaurant today. Small but really good. Food excellent, had the Monte Cristo and cheeseburger. Server was wonderful. I was having a hard ttime choosing between the Monte Cristo and my favorite, a Rueben, the Rueben was recommended so I ordered it with fries(upcharge). I was not disappointed!! Bread could have been toasted more, that's it! Great flavor! Get there early, maybe 8 booths, and the bar, and a line waiting!! I was there about 430pm...but worth the wait in my opinion!! We stopped in while on vacation on 9/21/24 - just a little late posting my review. We picked Brooks based on the Yelp reviews. It is located on a side street of the main area of Hendersonville. When we arrived, this place was busy - so that was a good sign! There was one empty table outside and we walked in to see if we could have it - and apparently that is where we went wrong. We waited and waited and nobody acknowledged us. Servers zoomed by and it seemed they purposely avoided eye contact. We could not get the bartenders attention either. Finally a group of four got up and the one guy said we should just grab their table before somebody else does as more people were walking in the door. Oh ok...so we just find our own table here. Good to know. We did decide to take the table outside so a family could take the larger table inside. The server found us and brought menus. Our beverages came quickly as did our order. We both ordered burgers and they were good! Server was friendly. We enjoyed the table outside - it is just in the middle of the sidewalk so thankfully it was just the two of us so we did not block the way too much. read more

I really like this restaurant. The food is well prepared and delicious. The space is small with mostly booths and a few tables. The bar is welcoming and well stocked. The mixed drinks are great. The staff is always welcoming, friendly and attentive. Parking is on the street. Usually, the parking spaces in front of the restaurant are full. There are ample parking spaces within a block or two of the restaurant. This is one of my favorite places to eat and relax. You definitely should give it a try. read more

My friend and I found this place using yelp as we were visiting Hendersonville and wanted to eat local. The inside was kinda small so we sat at the bar. The bartender was so nice and always checked on us and even refilled our drinks without us asking. The food was great and cooked to order. After a hike to the Little Bradley Waterfall, there was only one thing to do. Go find the perfect lunch and take a minute to relax. Luckily Brooks Tavern was the perfect spot.
