Brooks Tavern was one of those places we almost overlooked, but I'm so glad we didn't. Completely unassuming from the outside, but wow... this ended up being one of the best smash burgers we've had. Perfectly crispy edges, juicy, and just done right. And the nachos with beer cheese... insane!!!! Like actually so good. Every bite had something on it, nothing sad or dry about it. Back again yesterday and tried some new things. Loved the chicken Caesar wrap, it was a nice light meal and added the homemade chips as well. Husband had the chicken fingers and fries and said the chicken was really good and not greasy at all. The diet cokes were better this time and we also had Sarah as our server, she was so sweet and friendly she seemed like she was all alone and waiting on all of the tables inside and out. We sat outside because it was so busy there wasn't room and she did not forget about us ever. She made sure our drinks were always filled and we had everything we needed. She even brought us to go drinks when we were done. Very quaint pub like restaurant and bar that is enchanting. Feels like an establishment you would see in London. The Hand cut fries are great. The sandwich and salads were delicious. Awesome local spot with a wide array of menu items to choose from. They are open for breakfast and lunch and I heard from several regulars that the steaks were great! We stopped in for a quick drink and ordered the candied bacon. The drinks were made well and the bacon had good flavor but was cold and may have sat in the grease for a little longer than needed. Our waiter was so sweet and kind, but the male bartender at the bar was rude and annoyed easily. We just ordered a round of drinks while we waited for our table, and he was not very nice to us. He spoke very condescending when anyone had a question on a cocktail or wasn't sure what they wanted yet. Shame on him. If you dislike your job, find a new career path. You only get one life. We stopped in while on vacation on 9/21/24 - just a little late posting my review. We picked Brooks based on the Yelp reviews. It is located on a side street of the main area of Hendersonville. When we arrived, this place was busy - so that was a good sign! There was one empty table outside and we walked in to see if we could have it - and apparently that is where we went wrong. We waited and waited and nobody acknowledged us. Servers zoomed by and it seemed they purposely avoided eye contact. We could not get the bartenders attention either. Finally a group of four got up and the one guy said we should just grab their table before somebody else does as more people were walking in the door. Oh ok...so we just find our own table here. Good to know. We did decide to take the table outside so a family could take the larger table inside. The server found us and brought menus. Our beverages came quickly as did our order. We both ordered burgers and they were good! Server was friendly. We enjoyed the table outside - it is just in the middle of the sidewalk so thankfully it was just the two of us so we did not block the way too much. read more

I really like this restaurant. The food is well prepared and delicious. The space is small with mostly booths and a few tables. The bar is welcoming and well stocked. The mixed drinks are great. The staff is always welcoming, friendly and attentive. Parking is on the street. Usually, the parking spaces in front of the restaurant are full. There are ample parking spaces within a block or two of the restaurant. This is one of my favorite places to eat and relax. You definitely should give it a try. read more

My friend and I found this place using yelp as we were visiting Hendersonville and wanted to eat local. The inside was kinda small so we sat at the bar. The bartender was so nice and always checked on us and even refilled our drinks without us asking. The food was great and cooked to order. I dig the small tavern feel and staff were all friendly. Definitely try the buffalo chicken egg roll. The fish was great...perfectly crispy and tasted fresh however the fries(chips) were soggy. I used to love this place and would come every time visiting Hendo. Tonight was the first time I have been since the change in ownership. We arrived around 5:30 pm as a party of 4. The only table left was 6 top and they would not let us eat there. They were saving in case a "large party" came in. So we had to wait about 20 minutes for a booth to open up. 3 other groups came in to eat and they all had to wait as well. We ordered drinks from the bar. Mine was served in a cracked glass. They would not let us transfer our bar tab to the table. The egg rolls have been a must eat since I was introduced to them. Tonight I was sooo disappointed. They are not the same. The 6 top still remains open. The meal was pleasant enough. After our meal the 6 top remained empty. They charged us an additional fee for using our credit card. All and all not a great experience. Horrible service. If you are Hispanic do not go here. Waitress was extremely rude and looked at us like aliens. I was very polite and even thanked her and she just walked away.
