Zekos is a solid fast casual Italian venue in (what appears to be) a run down Pizza Hut establishment with minimal staff. If you're looking for a budget buy, this is your stop! I don't order wings for a fried chicken dinner, so if you're expecting jumbo pieces with plenty of meat, this is not your dish. Personally, I prefer smaller, well fried wings to maximize the crispy skin + sauce ratio that easily fall off the bone. To that end, Zeko's wings were a solid first choice as I wanted for my main. While I truly loved my sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom Stromboli, I do recognize the fresh flavor challenge other Yelpers ran into. The filling tasted as if the mushrooms were straight from the can and the cheese--while greasy and gooey--was rather bland. I found myself adding a bit of salt (despite being on a low sodium diet) to help bring out more flavor. Honestly, I was a bit cautious when I entered the restaurant to see a person or two seemingly hanging out watching TV in the beat-up booths, but I'm glad I stayed. I was skeptical to try this place at first, but after getting tired of the other local pizza places I finally decided to give this place a go and I am so glad I did. It is my new favorite pizza in town! This place has taken over an old Pizza Hut and walking in to this establishment is like walking back in time to my childhood. Everything is almost just as I remember it, booths, salad bar, arcade games and all. But the food is way tastier and more affordable. I am a big fan of their veggie pizza. We went to Zeko's after church on Sunday with our family and all 11 of us got the buffet. It was absolutely amazing! The salad bar was loaded with fresh crisp vegetables along with pasta salad and a variety of dressings. There was also stir fried rice, chicken with zucchini and onion, cheesy pizzas, and stromboli. Tonight's wholesome adventures took me to a place. I frequent it many times over the brief time. I've been in the Asheboro area. Zico's amazing pizza. It's actually called Zico's pizza Too 1328 North Fayetteville St. gets five star review from me to all those who are following me, let me assure you that restaurant is excellent. The food is good. The service is good While I haven't had the pleasure of going in there because it's kinda hard for me to move. Went for the buffet and stayed around 45m. They only had 3 pizzas on the hot bar and within 20m there was barely any slices left. During the entire time they did not put out new pizza. In fact only when we left did they choose to put out new pizza. The pizzas were also incredibly thin and not very appetizing. read more

Zekos pizza in Asheboro, NC, is another hidden gem. The service was good. I ordered my food togo and I received it hot and ready. I ordered a large ham and pepperoni stromboli and a chicken taco salad. The stromboli was huge, you can tell by the picture. It was loaded with ham and pepperoni, and the cheese pull was crazy. Also, the chicken taco salad was loaded, and it was big as well. I spent about $25 in total, and I must say it was worth every penny. We will not eat here again. You can tell they are being cheap by watering down the ranch and marinara sauce. They were like seasoned milk, and chunky tomato soup. Only up side was the waitress was great, kept our sweet teas full and checked on us often. read more

The eggplant manicotti was so tough I had to use a sharp knife to cut into it. And it was so chewy, I literally had to pull it apart to make sure it wasn't just over cooked meat! I had 2 bites and threw the rest away. Unfortunately, I had it delivered or I would have sent it back. The turkey sub was ok, but bland. Also was heated although I asked for cold. Haven't tried it yet, but the cheesecake had a date on it that was 8 days ago. Not encouraging. I was curious about their pizza before, but I will NEVER eat here again. Honestly I don't have much to say. Food was dry and very unflavorable. Honestly if your looking for a good Italian place with nice food go to Medos Italian with better spices,sauces,ect. They served my friend a sandwich with a spider walking across it and after they replaced it they charged her full price for it wtf. Then the lunch buffet is a great idea but the food is left there dry and old and not replenished at all you would think at 12:15 during a lunch rush they would keep the buffet stocked. I have only eaten in once and usually just order take out. The food is VERY hit or miss. On three separate occasions they messed up my husbands sub. On one of these occasions the one they sent out to fix the problem was also incorrect. By the third time they got it right but it shouldn't have taken three try's. the vegetables on both subs and salads are never cut properly. They are very very large pieces. The pizza frys are good a lot of the time. Sometimes they aren't cooked long enough or are way over cooked. The pizza lacks much of any seasoning. The fettuccine Alfredo is good but you need to ask for light sauce or it's more like fettuccine soup. I recognize my review is not very favorable but given the limited options of places that deliver we continue to roll the dice and order from here. Service is always very prompt so that's a plus. The pizza was nasty, so nasty. The dough was so tough and the sauce was actually flaky, how is sauce flaky? The cheese wasn't melted at all and there was a huge amount of grease on the pizza, like you could literally just turn it up and it was pouring off the side. While we were there two of the kitchen staff got into some kind of argument with one of the waitresses and threw a towel in her face hard, she started crying and walked into the bathroom. Another waitress went into to check on her and the men in the kitchen were laughing at her, I don't know what they were saying because it was in another language and I don't know what happened since we had to leave but it wasn't a good experience at all.
