Oh SO GOOD!!! If you're looking for great Italian food, this place is the best. The service was super. Very attentive and helpful. The pasta was superb. The best penne vodka sauce pasta I've had. Excellent wine list to go with the best pasta in Sandhills. Always fresh and full of taste. There is a reason this place is always crowded and has a wait to get seated. Lots of servers as well to ensure timely service. This is the go to place for most people in Pinehurst when you want the best pasta. Not inexpensive but worth the price. read more

Welcome to fine dining in Pinehurst. Here is my summary of this amazing Italian place which was recommended to us by a local and it did not disappoint. We were told to reach there early by its opening time of 4 PM or else we would have to wait. We were the second to reach there and within 15 -20 min, the entire place was packed. 1) Ambiance 5/5: Great setting with both inside and outside seating with shade. They have a bar there as well. 2) Service 5/5: The service was quick and delightful. At the entrance, we had people help take our names and escort us to our seating while the lady taking care of us was very helpful as I wanted some vegan options. She even enquired and confirmed me the things I could eat. 3) Food 5/5: My family absolutely loved all the food here. I just had salad and bread and here is my experience: a) Complimentary bread: Generally people dont talk about it but it was the highlight of my experience. We were told that the bread here was amazing and it sure was. Either we were really hungry or the bread was delicious since we had 2-3 baskets of it. I guess it was both :) b) Farro Estivo: It had wheat grains and was delicious. I liked it. c) Rigatoni alla vodka: My wife had this and she loved it. 4) Value for Money 5/5 - This is a fine dining place so do not expect it to be cheap but it was totally worth it. In the end, totally worth the hype! Dined here on a Monday night in mid June. Michael took great care of us. Food was out of this world (per usual). My two favorite dishes are sausage with the orrechiette or in vodka sauce--sub crumbled sausage. I had the vodka dish last night. Outstanding! My husbands favorite is the shrimp scampi. Our kids love the spaghetti and meatballs. Portions are huge and enough for a second meal. Save room for gelato! If banana or lemon is offered go for those as they are unexpectedly complex and especially delicious. When we are in town we must visit Lisi! The seating was rather tight tbh but the food was good & would have been MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE if they had just turned the AC on. It was SO HOT & UNCOMFORTABLE we couldn't even enjoy our food. I honestly am rather upset that we spent just under $100 for 2 with no dessert to be excited to leave just to cool off & eat at home. **Even the staff was sweating ** To make matters worse.... The food that we decided to take home so we couldn't enjoy it with some AC..... was packed up with none of the sauce that came on it! To start off The location is amazing , it's in such a beautiful corner or southern pines . We arrived and was greeted by excellent service. The bread to start was good. Me and my wife orderes different raviolis and they were both phenomenal. Even the baby was enjoying the food. We ordered a papa pizza and man when I tell you it was amazing !!! We went here for a family dinner on a busy Saturday evening. We were seated promptly despite the restaurant being very busy. Our server Trish, was friendly, efficient, and made us feel welcome. We started with the burrata and Caprese. Both were excellent. The veal parmigiana and shrimp scampi were large portions and delicious! Huge disappointment upon our return. We waited 45 minutes for a table next to the kitchen. It was loud and my wife and U could barely carry on a conversation. Services was fine but the food was horrible. Paying well over a fair price for spaghetti and meatballs I received a good portion of food but the sauce was right out of a can and tasted like Chef Boyardee. My wife had pasta with a vodka sauce that tasted like Mac and cheese. Best I can say was that we loved the bread. Won't be returning. read more

The Chef's soup today was simply brilliant! A clear chicken broth with minced carrots, celery & onion gently bathing along with tender Pastini. Could have had 2 bowls and a loaf of crusty Italian bread. Opted for the Veal Milanese entree served with EVOO & garlic - WOW! The staff, Ally, was top notch and the Chef came out to greet us along with the owner. Pure customer service with a warm, fun noisy kitchen across the aisle. Ate at Lisi's last weekend. I can't believe how much the prices have risen!!!! My husband and I shared the spaghetti and meatball dish and a salad. The most boring sauce I have ever had!!! I have had canned sauce better. $25 for spaghetti?!!! Not very many choices around here for a nice dinner but may have to travel out of the area, just not worth the money. Luckily they can depend on tourists, cause they wouldn't last if their customers were mostly locals. read more

My friend and I came from Fayetteville. The restaurant was easy to find where we decided to sit outside. It was a beautiful evening. The service was wonderful. Our waiter explained the different food choices and we ended up getting a bottle of wine. The food was fabulous. I had ground lamb with polenta and the other diner had chicken Parm. The hostess informed us that our party of 2 would be 30 mins (because we could not make a reservation) While we were waiting multiple party's of 2 showed up with a reservation and an additional party of 2 was told 30 mins unless they wanted to sit at a particular table that was open when we first showed up. The customer service by that hostess was very disappointing. A piece of advice, treat everyone the same. read more

Great Food but the waitress was extremely rude. They also have limited beer selection. Asked for a NA beer and was told they only had two left, and the only other beer option was a Blue Moon. I recommend coming early and walking around Pinehurst to set the stage for Lisi's. Walked into the old theater building and was immediately drawn to the smell of the kitchen. You'll see the grocery to the right and then the restaurant. The menu is well organized and the staff was bright and kind throughout our indulgence. We ordered the Chianti wine made by Lisi's. Wonderful little restaurant in the historic Village. We sat on the charming patio, enjoyed our beverages & the delicious, fresh, sweet strawberry salad, then tucked into our entrees. Lobster ravioli...fresh made pasta, bunks of lobster meat, delicious sauce. My husband had pasta with vodka sauce & sausage. It was delicious, as well, slightly spicy. What's not to like about fried dough after all, but I didn't really get much crab flavor out of them. The buttermilk and corn preparation came through more. The entree was a showstopper, though - grilled elk chops with a pomegranate glaze and country mashed potatoes. They were scrumptious, and the al dente vegetables cooked in with the potatoes gave them a nice toothsomeness. One of the best entrees I've had in quite some time. It's nice when a menu gives you a protein choice you don't see everywhere. Parking is fine, with a paved lot in front and spaces on either side of the adjacent street. Service was welcoming and efficient.

I just wish they were open a little later. My top three picks are the Birdie, Greek, and Real Italian. You can't go wrong with any of them. I've also tried the Wally, Sand, Pitching, Flip, Original, and New Yorker (sometimes a family member will let me try some of their sandwich...and vice versa). All great. There is just something about my top three though. I love that they are made fresh to order, that you can customize them, that they have an option for gluten free bread, and unsweetened or sweet tea (their unsweetened tea is delicious). I usually get an extra pickle when I remember. They have decent selections for sides as well. Nothing like a good sandwich from Wedgies and a cool drink in the summer! I do wish for more drink and side options...but that's me being super nit-picky. Get yourself a sandwich from Wedgies! You won't be sorry. Sometimes, calling ahead or placing an order ahead is the best way to go because it's usually very busy. Give a nice smile to all the kind people there as well. They do work hard!
