I had a little bit of a hard time finding the location because I'm not familiar with Minden. It's tucked into the corner of a strip mall with two shops on either side, and the sign wasn't super visible. The shop owner is super kind and welcome and able to help in all capacities. She knows her in store stock well, and can also order books if you're looking for something she doesn't have. Definitely wroth checking out! There's a bunch of fun merch items in addition to just books.

At first we thought it was closed because all of the lights were off. But the main door was unlocked and we entered. There was 3 people sitting at the table in the middle of the store - they stared us down but didn't say a word. We wondered the entire store which was primarily books, movies/dvds/VHS & furniture, with a few odds and ends. I think my definition of "gift store" is different than theirs because I didn't see much that I would categorize in that department. The odor in this store was the usual thrift store aroma, with a splash of...something very unpleasant. We saw what looked like a music venue in the back with a few guys talking really loudly from that area. After wondering the store, we started to work our way to the front when one of the gentleman practically ran to follow us out. When we looked back at him, he pulled out his key and dangled it indicating he was locking the door behind us, still not saying a single word to us. Out of probably 5 people in that store, not a single one said anything to us. If they were closed, they should have locked the door behind them - it was Saturday late morning.... I would label this more as a used book/music/movie store. I definitely won't waste my time here again. Such a weird experience!

They give you a little buzzer that goes off once your order is ready and when you pick it up there's a little bucket for the buzzer. There is also plenty of fun knick knacks and items for purchase. They even have a few boxes of 25 cent boxes. I found quite a few comics to complete a few series I started collecting years ago. What a great deals. Robert and Tim were super nice. One of the comics I need was not in stock except for a pack of 4 and I didn't need the other 3. Tim was willing to break up the package so I could buy just the one. (Which I do love BTW) This store has one of the most intuitive layouts I've ever encountered in a bookstore, and the selection, wow! After making all of my selections, I spoke to the owner for a bit. He seems to have a passion for finding everything interesting and unique. What a nice guy! I tried to keep it reasonable and only bought four books, but I already have plans to go back, and I reached out to friends who are in the area to see if there's anything they need! It seems more critical now than ever to have as many books as you can so that we don't lose history.

I came in to find a notebook and not only was I met with a wide range of options, I also found their selection of novels and kids story books was incredible! Having been to this store a handful of times I was excited to go in and shop today but…read moreunfortunately I don't think I'll ever be going back. As I was in line waiting to check out I noticed some people arguing price with the owner and thought nothing of it, BUT I absolutely should have. I made polite conversation with the owner as he was ringing up my items but then when he said my total I was a bit taken aback as it was higher than I had expected. When I was shopping I had been keeping a running total as I went and this seemed well above it. Unfortunately I did not trust my gut and paid for my items and figured I'd just check everything when I got in the car. I was given no receipt and when I went to check the items I remembered that as we were chatting the owner had cut off the price tags. I calculated (rounding up) what I remembered the tags to have said (even checking pictures I had sent my husband for opinions) when I was shopping and was shocked to see that I had been overcharged by about $50 dollars. It seems like this guy likes to take advantage of people and just charge whatever he feels in the moment and then makes it so there's little to no consequence for his actions because there's no way to "be sure" unless you're watching and calculating every single thing as he goes through. The only reason this review isn't one star is because of my previous pleasant experiences but BE CAREFUL here because you never know when the owner might decide to ruin your day.
