Quick review I absolutely 100 % love this place . Professional and friendly! We began the nail process during that time got offered wine ;) so far no other nail salon I've been to did that . I enjoyed my time there . Visiting and I'm so glad I found this spot. Walking in this place is really beautiful very classy and upscale ~ very aesthetically pleasing. Clean. (Lots of adorable shops near including wedding dresses I'll come back to look at ) if it wasn't so late I would've love to get my toes done . The Ladies that helped us were super kind and talkative and helpful . Best nail salon by far I've ever been to. I felt comfortable as well and even engaged in a conversation .Sharon did my nails... so awesome she never hurt my hand. It surely was the most gentlest experience I could've ever had! The salon is very clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming. My husband even feels comfortable getting a pedicure. He is on his feet at work and enjoyed the hot towels and paraffin on his feet. Being a diabetic this has helped him. read more

There was no communication, the nail tech did whatever she wanted to do with the shape and the thickness was horribly. Thick katashi was not working there, long. She was young and couldn't understand anything that was being said. Ask the owner if I could have someone else.And she said no one was available. Went as a first-time client for a pedicure in 5/2022. I had a $50 paper gift certificate from 12/2018. Went to pay & was told that for some mysterious reason, they didn't want to credit the gift certificate because of its age. They admitted there was no expiration date noted despite that they should have noted one when it was purchased. There were no terms on the gift certificate listed saying that fees would be deducted if not used within a period of time. Acted like they were doing me a favor by "letting" me use $30 of the gift certificate & then charged me another $10! This is illegal. Gift certificates with no expiration date are valid for at least 5 years per Ohio law. Be aware of the law before you buy/use a gift certificate with them. read more

They were very nice but seemed stressed and rushed. They did have a new person training and he seem to be doing well. The lady that was training him was also doing my nails. She was distracted and working really fast. My nails look great still but there are bubbles in the polish on two of my nails. For $65 acrylics- I am not 100% happy ( before tip). I was also proposed to in these nails and thank goodness those two nails don't stand out too much. I would still go back If I was in time crunch. Might try other nail locations around for a better price though. Update- they reached out and were very kind about redoing my 2 nails. I have a pretty busy work schedule this week. I booked an appointment for a pedicure here for my friend and I to celebrate her daughter's 1st birthday. When we arrived they did not seem to even realize we had an appointment but we were the only people there so we were seated right away. The inside is beautiful and very clean and they even put plastic around the tubs. They had a nice selection of colors as well. I can only give this place 3 stars because our technicians did not speak to us the entire time. They conversed in their native language among each other so loudly my friend and I could barely hear each other talk. At one point the polish on my friends toes got nicked and she tried to get the technicians attention and they were looking at each other and talking so much she had to wave her hands in front of her for her to notice. I would love to come back as I love the inside and the chairs but the lack of attention to paying clients is not acceptable. read more

I have been to this salon many times and had great experiences almost every time. The prices here are more reasonable than the other nail salon at the greene and the staff is always way nicer. Now with that said, the times I have had less than great service has always had one thing in common, Joe. The older man who works here has always caused problems every time I have been stuck with him doing my nails. He seems very impatient and cuts at least one finger every time. He seems like he's rushing to get as many people done as he can in the shortest amount of time. The younger male and the females who work here are always great so I will return but if I see him I will refuse to have him. I'd rather wait longer than have him again and I feel like I have been very patient about this but this is at least the third time this has happened with the same person, I do not recommend letting him do your nails UPDATE I decided to give them one more chance because the location is just too great. I can say that I have been here at least 10 times and every experience I have is different. A few weeks ago I went to get dip and I was disappointed with the quality. I went again today and was taken care of by a different member of their staff. I was pleased this time, the color was beautiful and the nails look almost flawless. It really depends on when you go and who does your nails, but I never wait long which is a plus. Even though it can be hit or miss, I will continue to go. The approximate 55 minute wait after being quoted 15 started my first experience on shaky ground, but Hang did such a great job it more than made up for the wait. However, I still have a love hate relationship with this salon. I was impressed and appreciate Hang's level of attention to detail (trimming cuticles, ensuring color thoroughly covers nails - including the tips), but hate that she does a better job than even the best at my home salon. The nail tech tried to get us to go separately but we wanted to all sit together; that is why we called ahead and made appointments. The nail tech took the two people who signed in 15 mins later than us because we wouldn't separate. There were only three techs in the spa and we told the lady that we wanted to be together; that was the entire reason we made appointments. There's a thing on their website that says 'Happy Hour! 10am-1pm 10% off a mani pedi combo'. Not true. I came in at 10:15 and I'm just leaving at 1:30. More expensive than Venetian. My best friend and I decided to treat ourselves and stopped into Zen to see if they could take us on a Saturday morning. We waited maybe 10 minutes and were taken back to our pedicure chairs. The salon is very clean, the chairs were huge & had the massage backs built in. I had a man who did my pedicure (sorry I can't remember his name) but he was wonderful. He made sure my water wasn't to hot and that I was comfortable at all times. He did a great job on my foot & calf massage & an even better job on my pedicure. read more

I waited a day to post this, thinking my experience might have a different perspective after a night of sleep. Nope. I will never, ever return here. I took my daughter to treat her and myself to a gel manicure. We walked into a virtually empty salon, and so they were able to get us in right away. A polite young lady started on my daughters nails. She pulled out clean instruments from a sterile bag and began meticulously working on her cuticles after a brief soak in warm water. An older gentleman did the same with my nails, except no sterile bag. By the time he was finished 5 of my 10 fingers were bleeding. He kept putting a green liquid on them to stop the bleeding in order to complete the manicure. Shame on me for not stopping the manicure at that point, but I didn't want to ruin my daughter's special treat. Another thing that grossed me out was that he used his own long yellow fingernails to wipe off the excess polish on the sides of my fingers. The tech that was doing my daughter's nails, used a tool to do this. They salon appears clean and nicely decorated, however you won't catch me there EVER again. I took a friend as a late Christmas gift. We were able to get in side-by-side. Ben and Bo were hilarious and we laughed and talked with them the whole time. (Thank you, Bo, for letting my friend keep all her toes! Here's your five stars!) My pedicure wasn't the best I've had but it was fun and the massage chair was fabulous. My friend's pedicure looked great. The salon was very clean. Everyone was very friendly. It was pricey for such a basic service so I probably won't go often but it was worth it this time. I live at The Greene and have tried all three nail salons in the area. This one is the best. Clean, attention to detail and a great massage with the Green Tea Pedi (I'm a massage therapist, so I know a good massage when I get one!). I've been about 4-5 times so far. My polish lasts and lasts. I always have a special design put on my big toes. I let them decide and it's always so fun. Sometimes it's abstract, or a palm tree, flowers (with crystal centers!) and it makes me feel so special. It is a bit pricey, but they take their time and the products and services used are of great quality. The other thing I really love is that you can see they take good care of their equipment - I see them sanitizing and protecting the tools used. I can't say that for other nail spas at The Greene. You can often get in same day without an appointment. I love that, but hope that changes, I want them to be so busy and stay in business - they are that good. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE & HAVING AN APPOINTMENT DOESN'T MATTER. I went in there with an appointment for my friend and I. It had been 20 mins we had been waiting PAST our appointment time. Nobody was acknowledging us after I had checked us in. When I looked around for someone (they didn't keep someone at the front desk) nobody even looked my way. I had to basically announce to the salon that I've been waiting 20 mins now for the appointment are we going to be helped soon? And they said just a moment. Then we waited another 10 mins and by then we were out of there and DIDNT EVEN GET OUR NAILS DONE AND WE TOOK OUR SERVICE ELSEWHERE. It's an industry standard to offer both services (drill or file) on the natural nail-bed for a gel manicure on natural nails. I was not pleased or satisfied with the customer service. read more

I recently moved to Dayton in August and was looking for a nail place. This was the first place I tried and the only place I have gone because I love it so much! I have gotten both manicures and pedicures here. The staff always makes me feel so welcome and always makes me feel so pampered every time I visit. They are usually not busy either if you go during the day (which I usually do). Zen is a tad more expensive than I am used to (most places from where I used to live had manis for $12 and Zen is $22). However, it is definitely worth it and my manicures always last. read more

I'd been going to Zen for years for gel manicures and pedicures but I've noticed latelythe quality slipping as well as the poor attitudes of the employees. It's often so chaotic that the employees are in bad moods as they try to jam as many customers in as possible. Today, after waiting over 40 minutes, I finally headed back with an employee who calls herself Rose. She started off complaining about the rush of people and when I replied that it was good for business she said no she didn't like it like that. I should have known this was a bad sign as I received a horrible manicure from her! We tried to fix it with another color which didn't help so she offered to take it off. HOWEVER, she then used that against me later, screaming at me at checkout when I asked her why she was charging me full price when I was leaving with no polish of any sort. After two hours there, I left with no manicure and her causing a huge scene. Not how customers should be treated. I will never go back nor refer them! read more

I have been a customer since around time they opened and keep coming back as they are friendly and do a good job. Was in a couple days ago and it was so much different - when I walked in was only person getting a service - I take my own polish and since its OPI silver top, take primer and top coat, which I gave to technician. She wasn't sure which to use, so I gave her the primer and said the other was the top coat - I later saw her using the primer as a top coat. When pedi was done I asked about staying in chair (by this time two others had come in and were on the other side of the salon) and was told 'no - go there' as she pointed to the front of the salon. I struggled getting coat, bags to move there and she never offered to help - this has never been the case before - in fact she was long gone and on the other side of the salon. Typically they make sure you get there okay (actually, they usually let you stay in the chair!) When I went to check out a technician who had been sitting in the manicure area (eyes locked on cell phone) came to the stand to handle the checkout procedure. She was obsessed with her phone (and with Amazon in particular) pretty much the whole time. I have never seen this non-level of customer service. 5 for my first experience a few months ago, 1 for my 2nd, today. I have a newborn (and a toddler), and a friend visiting. We decided to go with the kids to get our nails done, my first outing since the baby's arrival. My 2 year old can be occupied by a movie - for a while - and the baby just sleeps. My friend would only do a pedi and then manage them and/or walk around while I got both mani and pedi. We weren't entirely sure of our timeline, so we didn't make appointments. But I called ahead to ask if they could take us as we were heading over. The woman said yes. When we arrived there were 7 people getting nails done, everyone working seemed to be with someone (the place is big, so many empty stations). So we picked colors and waited. And then waited some more. I started to get concerned, two kids would get antsy if we waited too long. I then told the woman we could shop or grab food and come back for appointments/at a specific time since they were all occupied. She said they were about to take us. Then we waited some more. Just as I was losing my patience they took us to pedicure chairs. We waited another 10 min or so there - the hot water had gotten cool. Finally someone came to take care of my friend. But I still waited. About 10 min after that I was fed up. My daughter had been watching Finding Dory for almost 40 minutes and I knew she wouldn't last. I went to my car, and my friend stayed and got her toes HALFWAY done. She told me the man doing them was hurting her feet as he cut her nails, so she didn't even have him paint her nails. He seemed very new. The woman still charged her the full $37 - she told her to come back to get them painted, but I live across town, have a newborn, and she doesn't have a car and is leaving tomorrow. She should have modified the price. Needless to say my friend didn't get her money's worth. And I still have gnarly looking post-partum nails. I wish the woman had just told me they were fairly busy and we'd have to wait a bit. We would have gone later in the day or made the appointments for the next, and had a better experience. They should have managed our expectations better, rather than saying they could take us when they couldn't. I'll look for a new place next time I want my nails done. read more

I really like Zen. The chairs are comfy and love the massage feature. I recently took my 5 year old great niece for a pedi (she's been getting them for 3 years) and they took good care of her. The polish she selected was a sheer pink with glitter and when it was put on and the technician realized it was really sheer, she asked if she wanted it over another color.
