Tina did my nails, and she really is a perfectionist! She ensured my nails were perfect and paid attention to the smallest details. She was really friendly and made us feel welcome. The service I got was dipping powder, and it's healthier for your nails compared to acrylics. Tina did an outstanding job and painted some adorable daisies on my nails, which are my favorite flowers. Even though we called ahead for an appointment, we got a call BEFORE the appointment asking if we were still coming. We explained we were on our way and that our appointment wasn't for another 15 minutes anyway. ??? Upon arrival no one seemed to know why we were there or what services we had called ahead to book. We had wanted dips, but no one knew that. We had to ask repeatedly. After some arguing among the staff we were seated at our pedicure chairs we asked for the "third" pedicure which was to have included a foot mask, massage, exfoliating scrub. It was the second most expensive treatment but sounded great and we wanted to splurge. My pedi teach was extremely rough - it hurt as he worked on my cuticles. The pedicure itself was extremely rushed- my mask was spread on and immediately wiped off. The scrub was equally quick, the extra time massage was non existent. A total rip off. At one point my nail tech came over and had words with the guy doing my pedicure. Apparently she didn't want to wait for it to be finished, so I was taken from the pedicure chair before my pedicure was finished so she could start on my fingernails on her time. The top coat of my pedicure was applied at the manicure table. It's a shame that they ripped us off on our services....this was our first time there and it will be our last. read more

I'm surprised at the bad reviews! I walked in on a Saturday afternoon with no appointment. I waited maybe 5 mins. The girl who did my nails really cared about my happiness. She was meticulous on my French gel mani, made sure I liked the color and thickness and the number of coats. She took her time and I never felt like I was being rushed through it. I feel like my pedi is equally as high quality. I get my nails done fairly regularly and my experience here is one of the best I've had. I honestly don't care about the bar. I kept telling the nail tech that hurts, but she did not seem to get it.... now I have bloody, painful toes. I had a mani/pedi on Saturday, August 31st at Zen Nail Spa. This placed looked busy and like your typical nail salon , so I assumed it would be fine. I was in town for a wedding and was in need of a quick mani/pedi. I have been getting mani/pedi 1x month for 15+ years, never have I been in pain during and after my nail appointment. I love the look and decor of the salon. Walked in two people at the desk I wasn't greeted and asked if I could get a pedicure. One lady shook her head and pointed to the wall of nail polish and said pick a color. After selecting a color I sat down and the lady doing my nails did offer me water and I asked if she had hot tea she went to ask a gentleman and said yes but unfortunately I never received it. They have a full bar and was not offered anything but water. I was handed a menu which had descriptions, pricing and length of time. I did not receive the entire time of massage as mentioned on their menu. I was in and out less then 25 minutes. Massage chair was way to rough to have my entire body shake isn't my thing. The lady did a good job with my pedi and I paid $48.60 and it wasn't Shellac just an OPI. I've had two very bad experiences that made me decide not to go here anymore! One time I was getting a French manicure and the technician could not understand English too well. She got an attitude when she couldn't understand me and just completely did my nails with this nasty attitude the whole time. I was trying to explain what I wanted and she couldn't understand. She showed pictures but it wasn't what I wanted. Her attitude was really nasty. The other occasion was when I came in to get a nail fixed because it chipped two days after I got my nails done. I had been waiting for about 10 minutes when a white girl walked in with no appointment and the manager sat her down immediately before me. I went to him and asked him why did she get seated before me (I am African-American) and he went in the back and got a technician to work on my nails. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! i could not recommend this place any less. i paid $100 for dip nails with tips (all 1 color nothing crazy). within a few days, 2 broke off. they didn't even last a week. i called to get them fixed & they said no problem, i drove 40 minutes after working 10 hours because they said they would be available in the evening. i walked in only to be told if i wanted them fixed for free, i'd have to wait an hour otherwise i'd have to pay to get them fixed by someone else. the service here is terrible. if you're looking to over pay to be disappointed, then this is the place for you! for reference, my nail tech was heidi and they had me wait 30 minutes the initial time because they told me she'd do them well. she also told me that they last a long time... 3 days is not a long time. what a complete waste of money. I have been going to Zen Nails since it opened. I moved to Atlanta and every time I would come home I would get my nails done along with a pedicure. I loved it because it was very professional, very nice and clean with wonderful decor. I have moved back to Cleveland and the last couple times I have gone it was not the same. The new manager does not have good people skills he was down right rude. He told me to go to get my nails done with Jojo a nail tech that is no longer there. He even told me where her new nail salon was located. My pedicure was great but I wanted tips with dip and was told it was $85 I questioned the price and was told because the nails were long and I got a special shape. I did not ask for a special shape and the nails were not outrageously long. The only reason I asked for the manager is because I could not understand what my nail tech was saying. The manager came over immediately with an attitude before I could speak and said the price is $85 because your nails are long and he was loud. I asked him why he was talking to me that way and so loud I only want to know what I was paying for. He said the dip starts at $50 the tips are $10 and $10 because of the shape. I said I didn't want a special shape and instead of him talking to me and trying to work it out he said well don't get them done then. He was very rude and that was very bad customer service. I said fine and that is when I told him I had been coming since Zen nails opened and I used to go to Jojo and I never had a problem I always tip well and I didn't understand why he had an attitude. That is when he told me where Jojo's salon was and that life was too short to argue. I said I am not arguing I just wanted an explanation of my nails I never questioned my pedicure. I told all of my friends about my experience and they too said the service has changed with the new management and the prices are not consistent they are higher every time. 0/10 would not recommend. Spent HOURS getting a gel manicure and pedicure yesterday and already had the gel from 3 of my fingers completely peel off and the others are chipped. My only guess is that the guy put a top coat on first so the gel did not set on my nail. Not to mention that it looks like terrible. My cuticles and nail beds are worse for the wear. My rating is a 2 because how pretty it is. I love the space. Although I have gone there many times since they have opened. I am never satisfied. Something always happens to my mani and or Pedi's. Whether a standard mani/pedi or Gel mani/pedi will not last. I get chips and gel fall off in an short amount of time. This time (I will not mention the girl) 1 toe nail was not totally gel painted. Half the nail was just nail. I used regular polish to cover the entire nail. When my daughter heard what I did she said go back. I did that and the manicurist took off my polish and said I could leave. I told her the whole toe nail wasn't covered. She was frustrated and said I do not understand what you want. I again told her to fix the nail. She put more polish on the unprepared nail cured it and did that again. No base coat and no top coat. At least I look like I have a nail. I was in sales and the customer is always right. You should look at your review's they are not so good. I hope you can train your help to be nicer and do better all the way around. I recently moved here from California and am trying to find a place for pedicures. Yesterday was my second visit. The point of going to a 'spa' is for relaxation, not a concern you will get an infection after the visit. My first visit, the technician was so rough with my cuticles that they bled. The tool that was used on my heels looked like a cheese grater. She was so rough my heels bled. Good thing I have antibacterial ointment at my house. If you visit the state cosmetology website, they specifically state that tool can not be used. Also, I was concerned about the cleanliness of their tools. The cuticle trimmer case had dead skin in it. I will be looking for another place!! read more

Zen is an absolutely beautiful nail salon. I had high expectations considering the location, price, and overall ambiance but was very disappointing in the quality. The customer service was great and we were treated very well. I thought my nails had come out great until shortly after I left and I really looked at my nails. The shellac was painted completely over my cuticles so I knew they weren't going to last long. Only 3 days later, I had one nails chip and all of them started peeling up at the cuticle line. That is completely ridiculous for a shellac manicure only THREE DAYS later and for the price I paid. Now after 6 days they have started to completely peel off. This was the absolute worst experience at a nail salon I have EVER had. I booked 3 pedicures, I waited 10mins until someone started on mine while the other 2 were almost at polish. The tech I got seemed annoyed, I let it go. She started on my nails and I should have stopped her after filing the first foot but I instead let her continue. She broke multiple of my nails, filed my nails crooked and filed my left big toe so short and uneven that she eventually was filing skin. I had to ask for the nail clippers to clip off the right side of my toe nail, I wish I'd gotten a picture before hand. She offered no apology, no one did. I simply got up and left. As I was leaving they asked if I wanted someone else to complete my pedicure- as if I would allow them to even attempt to make my broken, uneven, short down to the skin nails look any way presentable and then pay $57 for them. Oh how I wish the service matched the decor. I called to come in on a Sunday and was told that they didn't take appointments but walkins only. I was also told there was and hour wait on the phone and once I walked in. Well... I've been sitting here 2 hours so far and 3 people have left without service. *after a week... My previous visit ended well after 3 people walkwd out because of how long they were waiting, I was able to get done sooner then anticipated. My experience was pleasant however it's been a week and unfortunately, my nails are lifting from the base because the dip polish was applied to my cuticles. My experience was sub par. Shaping on my pedicure could've been better as well as the cuticle grooming. I also got the dip powder manicure which was a dry manicure that I do not prefer but the nail tech tried to assure me that was the best option. She also could've done a better job on the cuticle grooming. Lastly the color was the worst part I wanted a pastel pink and picked out a particular shade. She told me that's not what I was looking for and showed me a different option saying it was a better match, I even showed her a picture to ensure it was what I was looking for. Let's just say the color she chose was nothing like what I wanted and I am annoyed I have to look at this color for the next couple weeks. When seated, we noticed nail and skin debri from previous customers (very unsanitary see added photo) the manager proceeded to ask what's the problem? And replied "ok" upon notifying him of the issue at hand. We were then moved to another area and it's very disappointing they didn't attempt to clean the area we moved from and customers were seated there. Also, there was an overwhelming scent of sewage and the restroom was very unsanitary, tissue all over the floor, brown residue in sick. I went in for tips and French manicure. It says it will cost 45 dollars for a full set of tips on their website. They charged me 97 dollars. I called back to get a break down and they said they add charges for "length" (that's the whole point of tips). they added 15 dollars for shaping, 15 dollars for gel. They dont tell you until after ward so you have to pay it. They made stuff up and refused to even break it down. My daughter and I thought we would try Zen because we were both in need of some relaxation. Zen the name had a nice relaxing tone. As we walked in there was no smile and greet, just a man saying to sign in. Next he yelled pick polish and pointed to the polish. Then a woman came by and yelled pick polish. Then pointing to the pedicure chairs. No smiles no nicety. Both our pedicures were rushed through and my daughter was yelled at for cutting her toenails too short. My leg was in pain with the rough and heavy sugar scrub. Then when she almost finished my nails, she yells out "pay now".
