I visited this salon for a Brazilian wax because it was rated 5 stars here on Yelp, but a 5 star experience it was not. It wasn't horrible, but it was definitely not anything special. I will say that Lex was hospitable and fast, the service only took about 30 minutes. However it was disappointing on so many levels, starting with the tacky fake plants outside. The bathroom was cute and clean, but as I walked back to the appointment room there was a bunch of junk stacked by the wall, and the appointment room was brightly lit with uncomfortable paper bedding. I am used to wax spas using nice soft linens. When my wax was over she left the room and did not offer me any sort of wipe to clean up with (as is customary in my experience) and also missed quite a lot of hair in the back. When I met her at the register and told her about this she did offer to go back in and fix it, but I really didn't want to bother with going back into that gross room and undressing again. Typically at a wax spa you would be offered a hand mirror to check before they actually leave the room and have you get dressed again. I was also disturbed by the fact that there wasn't a sink or even hand sanitizer in the room. I can only hope that she was going into the bathroom between clients to wash her hands but who knows! I've never had any sort of waxing done before and was looking for a place that had good reviews for my first time. The wax bar was the highest rated and it was also very close to my house. I had read in the reviews that the owner, DeLane, was amazing so I booked an appointment with her for a Brazilian wax and an eyelash lift. Making the appointment was very easy, as I was able to do so right on the website. A card is required to book the appointment but it isn't charged until your appointment is completed. The Wax Bar was easy to find, and there was plenty of parking available. The Wax Bar itself is chic, but inviting, and kept very clean. I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member at the front and DeLane was ready for me right away! I've never been waxed before and was nervous but DeLane was so nice and reassuring. She made an awkward situation as comfortable and painless as possible. She did a flawless job, and there is absolutely no redness or irritation either. DeLane also did my lash lift, which includes a lash tint as well. I've had lash lifts before but I can honestly say that this one is the best by far. I was seated in a reclining chair that was super comfortable. The chair, combined with the chill music playing, made me so relaxed that I ended up falling asleep lol. DeLane took her time to and was very thorough with my lash lift and the results are incredible. My eyes POP, especially with mascara. I would 10000% recommend the Wax Bar and DeLane to anyone. This place is such a breath of fresh air. DeLane is simply awesome. Too often in the beauty industry you are met with practitioners that aren't very friendly or customer service forward. That's actually what led me here on the word of two friends. I am so happy I listened. I did the brow wax/tint and lash tint. My lashes are very long and thin. It's hysterical that you're trying to discredit me when all I did was speak the truth. It was you that was threatening and rude to an entire group of people. We could then hear you all the way outside screaming and cussing over the phone afterwards to who we assumed was your neighboring business. All you had to do was be polite and ask nicely to not block access but instead you were mean and nasty. When you were called out for being rude, you went ballistic. Delane is amazing. She did my brows and Brazilian for over 1 year. She is professional, friendly, and puts you instantly at ease. I rarely had ingrown hairs from the Brazilian. When she does your eyes brows, she's so meticulous and takes the time to give one perfect eye brows. I've moved away from Cleveland hence no longer seeing her. DeLane is awesome!! Her work is impeccable, the studio is very cute and chic, and she is a lovely and kind person. I was in town for the holiday and treated my sister (and myself) to a brow shaping and tint. Delane is one of a kind. Not only did she take her time with my brows and make them perfect, but she also made sure to understand exactly what it was that I wanted. This place is everything you want in a Brazilian wax. It's impeccably clean and has the functioning convenience of scheduling appointments online. She uses the blue wax, with strip, which I think hurts much less than the wax with no strips. Also, she does legs in the air, which is far superior to any flipping over or all fours technique. DeLane is incredible. I was so happy while she was working on my eyebrows because I could tell that she was taking her time and doing a very detailed job. My eyebrows never look good when I go to a place where they only use wax, so when she busted out the tweezers and the scissors I breathed a sigh of relief. Then I saw the results and I was totally wowed! It was convenient to book and confirm the appointment through the app. The morning of my appt I got a text message with very clear directions to the salon that made finding it for the first time super easy. And the service was great! DeLane worked quickly and thoroughly and was both friendly and professional. I went to the Wax Bar for my first Brazilian and leg wax, and an eyebrow wax, and had such a great experience. The salon is so cute and chic and very clean. DeLane, the owner, is the kind of person that makes you feel at home as soon as you walk into the room and made me feel extremely comfortable during all my services. She is clearly very experienced and professional. I've already scheduled my next appointment and am definitely becoming a regular! One tip - the salon is inside another building on Chagrin Blvd so it's tricky to find if you don't know where you're going, so definitely call when you're on your way to have DeLane explain where to go. read more

Megan is the bomb. You feel like you're talking to your best girlfriend while she keeps your mind off of what is happening! She is friendly & professional, and best of all the wax is pretty painless. She is great at preparing you for the more painful parts and she's usually done in about 15 minutes. The Wax Bar itself is cutely decorated & very clean.
